I'm not asking for anyone to try to convince me. I dont use any of those programs. Call me paranoid... but I prefer to remain a purist.

I don’t care to get into it all that much since I personally feel it’s a light form of cheating.

But I will admit way back when, I used some form of windower for a short time. A month or 2 after I had it, I needed to reformat my computer and when I tried to load it up again, it didn’t work. I probably could have done more research on how to fix it but...that was too much effort ><.

The only thing I really miss is seeing my enemy’s % on its HP bar.

When I have to go without Windower, I realize how much I'm missing. Between spellcast, recast, tparty distance, and statustimer, there's a lot of information displayed on my screen, and when it all goes away all at once it's very... empty.

I don't use it ... but I play with 360. I attempted to play it on my laptop but I can't get the damn drivers to work so I can get a 360 controller to work in the game. >.<

I was in this boat for a long time. Hell I think I still am in that boat, but after experiencing the joys of spellcast I just don't care any more. Spellcast breathed new life into the game for me. It makes playing the game so much more fun by removing the headache of gear management, plus it's a game unto itself what with getting everything configured just right. Hell, I'm probably gonna spend more time writing XML than playing tonight.

Man... you would HATE my LS activities.

Eh, it's not so much that I hate dune parties(although it is a terrible place to exp), but that I hate syncing down that low on RDM.

Fair enough. We just happen to have a lot of low level members who feed off of the fact that EVERYONE is low enough to benefit directly from a dunes party.

I have also been trying to discourage anyone from leeching in abyssea to gain levels. I'm doing what I can to set an example for them by not doing that myself. I promised to level BLU and THF. BLU is currently lvl8 and THF is 48. I have a ways to go on both... and I intend to do it the way it was originally expected of us. I'm going to sit my ass down in an Astral Burn party! I'm going to grind in any party I can manage to build for myself out of the people who's flags are still up after they have reached level 30.

Months? Try years. Lol.

Referencing what TM said about macros ... macros? What are those? I really used like three macros after I started using Spellcast. One of which was a //raw Cure V for my Devotion set so that it would override the usual Cure V set change and keep me in that HP gear until I used Devotion, another for casting Protectra and Shellra so I had some /party line about {Gather together}, and a third I think ... well shit, I can't think of a third macro. I guess I only used two after I started using Spellcast. It was all about the // action.

mmm I need to try spellcast again, I use a combo of the .txt files and autoexect to do my gear changing for DRG and DNC. I have to agree for the longest I did not use that stuff myself....but god going from 3 macro buttons to one for over half of my DNC stuff and a WSs for DRG, my DRG healing breath is so easy to use now it is not even funny..... and I wont even start on BlinkMeNot *hugs blinkmenot*

Soooo until FFXIV gets better, I will still play FFXI, and I dont think I could do it without my little helper.


Real Peeve......... I can not seem to get my debuff timers to work any more -.- I even updated FFassist and nothin

The way I see it. It’s another reason SE can tack on to ban you, should you do something wrong they actually care about.

If you’re the average everyday player with a decent file (which most of us probably are) they don’t care too much that you use windower.

It's like speeding at like 7 miles over the speed limit... cops will typically be fine and let you do that on the freeway. You happen to not be wearing a seatbelt, talking on the cell, and/or smoking a fatty bong and they get ya for all of it and the construction zone you didn't realize you passed through.

Driving intoxicated and not wearing your seat belt will get you heavy fines. But 7 miles over the speed limit…that’s strike 3. kiss your licenses goodbye
