I have Fenrir, missing light spirit though. But LS member is going to help me farm it, and since that and the test are both in Temple of Ugg, then its shouldn't be too difficult. So go in at 70? Will do. I was at 69 before getting testimonies, but farming those testimonies alone was kinda brutal, luckily my ls stepped in to help.

I did always use the avatar on its appropriate day. Last time was Shiva on Ice day, but that stupid Titan... grr... Anyway, thanks again for the advice!

NP man. With Fenrir + Darksday it should be a joke if you follow those steps. I had no problems once I started to do it that way. The only problem is when both of them come at you.. your avatar is only going to distract one (usually Maat). Meanwhile, his avatar B-lines for you and theres little you can do to stop it unless you can get them both with the AF and effectively transfer hate to Fenrir when doing so. Light spirit will make a huge difference. The Protect 4 and Shell 4 that it can give you are huge in that fight. You may even be able to live through an AF if you're lucky.

That used to drive me nuts in Nyzul. If I buffed in the lobby, people would bitch because their raiding of the chest got interrupted, but if I waited till we ported up, half the party wouldn't get my Shellra V. Quit wasting my fucking MP.

I learned to just wait and cast protectra/shellra at the first fight. Unless everyone splits up 2x3 this usually works. Lobby time is when I cast RR3/Refresh/Stoneskin. Usually I have enough time to do those three before someone pulls us in, and sometimes I get to sneak in a Sneak too.

can I EVER get a free floor...I’ve gotten 1 out of the billion floors I’ve done.

I got a Runic Key without ever seeing a free floor. Finally saw one a few weeks later while getting the rest of my static up.


And someone mentioned Maat... I still need to kill him on RDM. Yes, I had a failed fight against him at 90. I recall that most of the strats involve sleep-nuking him, but whenever I cast Sleep II all three or so times I've gone in, he just resists it (resisted, not shadowed) and nukes me into a pile of ash faster than my fingers can react. I'm probably going to have to make up a special set of macros just for that fight.

Half of the NA players who ask to â—€Team up?â–¶ for Magian trials on lottery spawn NMs.

They join, and after a few rounds of killing place holders, go AFK and never move again. Hate them for leeching, but don't want to boot them and turn them into competitors for the NM. So annoying.

How do you know they're NA? They could be English-speaking Japanese, European, Australasian, or South African to name a few.

That aside, yes, leechers both on Magian Trials and in Abyssea parties are both frustrating and depressing.

My next pet peeve? Only having Ten Minutes to fight Maat. Took my damn light spirit long enough... /sigh

Gotta admit Kanjis are a very good filter.

If you can't understand the level of kanji being used chances are people using them aren't interested in teaming up with you for whatever that is going on.

And from what I saw in game once upon a time it seems this also applies between Japanese people.

Oh, how I love the smell of stupidity in the morning.

Here's a hint, people: They're using Japanese for the same reason you're using English-- because that's what they fucking speak. Can a lot of them understand English? Sure. Does that mean they want to have to use it when they're playing a game? Not any more than you want to try to dig up what you remember of the three years you took Spanish to talk to the Mexican immigrant taking your lunch order. AT was a deeply flawed system seven years ago; it's seen very little improvement in that time. It will never be as convenient to use AT as to just talk in your native language, including the slang all gamers have in all languages.
