That stupid problem where NPCs won't respond or will take ten seconds to respond. I think it may be a PS2 only problem, but it started with the level 80 update. Also, the "PS2 hangs with black screen after zoning" bug that started at the same time.

Since there are supposed to be a lot of PS2 users among the JPs, I hope they're doing their part to bitch at SE about it.

And while I'm at it, cutscenes that crash/lock up on PS2. Like one of the initial mini-expansion cutscenes. And the Lilisette dance cutscene from the WoTG mission, which doesn't get mentioned much because you have to work to get there.

Also, inb4 "QQ PS2 limitations" and "get a PC". I'll actually care if SE ever realizes that OS X exists.

I can't even go to campaigns at Fort K-N. I've frozen/DC'ed there way too many times.

Why so many? Every so often I think, "Hmm - wonder if they've fixed it yet," and try again -- only to find out it hasn't been fixed. Which reminds me ... I should go soon to see if it's been fixed.

My husband and I were both having trouble in Sandy a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't log out, and couldn't zone out of the mog house. So much for using Sandy mules. Luckily, that glitch got fixed quickly.

I teleported to Altepa the other night, and found that the chocobo NPC was missing. Did the Mamjas take a wrong turn at Albuquerque?

Sorry, that's normal. The Besieged/Campaign crashes on PS2 (and probably 360 as well) are usually caused apparently by too many effects going off in a small area. And by "effects", I don't just mean what the filters will stop. I mean every little bit of spell casting bubbles and sparklies. And the NPCs can really spam that shit. FKN is just one of the best zones for it because of the narrow space around the tower. I've had it happen multiple times in E-Ron and Eldieme too.

Crashes aren't the only problem. If too many effects show simultaneously, the PS2 will go into <1FPS mode until every frame of those animations finishes. I once had it take five minutes before the reraise prompt came up because of this. Bard magic in Pso'Xja is great for triggering this without an NPC around.

Turning on all the effects filters possible (I turn on all but a group of five near the top) does seem to help a bit. It turns a high chance of crashing into a much lower chance.

Also remember to do a file check every now and then. A bad data file is a great way to crash your PS2.

I have turned off almost all effects, and it's helped a lot. The only time in recent memory I got unceremoniously dumped from a campaign was in Battalia -- I don't remember if there was anything spectacular going on around me, but I know I had to have missed out on at least 2k exp (or limit points) because it had been a long battle. Meh -- made up for it all in Abyssea.

East Altepa Chocobo Hot and Cold is usually a kinder mistress to me, but today she put the marker in the middle of the freaking oasis. I'm pretty sure Lucky Dancing can't dig underwater, guys.

To be more precise, trial weapon people completely wiping a zone despite me being there soloing on bst before they enter the zone. These same people then complaining at me for charming their targets. They then wait until I'm just about to do a pet swap and attack my target pet I'm standing right next to just as I use leave, thus effectively MPKing me.

Best part is when we took over the Flan area in Mount Z. for many Firesdays. Man, were those BLMs happy. <_<;

Almost all mithras are really manthras. Women who know this would tend to be creeped out and avoid rolling up a mithra, thus making it even more so.

Really it's just safer to assume everyone is a guy until told otherwise. I wish more people would follow that rule of thumb. Playing on a female character has led to more than a few odd social scenarios, although oddly enough I've yet to have anyone actually try to hit on me.

If I see a female character, I say she. Why? Because that is what is in front of me. I really don't care about the actual gender of the person behind the character.
