Every time I try to click on the door to the Merry Minstrel I end up clicking on him instead.

Doesn't matter if I use tab or f8, the little bastard always has to be the center of attention. It's a tarutaru conspiracy I tell you.

Well, using the F8 key has so many different uses on my client for some odd reason. Never targets the right thing...

Sometimes it will target the furthest NPC...

Or during campaign, it will never target the tags guy, always a creature, so I have to tab like 50 times to target the npc guy. Then, when I get my "buff" for lack of better words since I am tired as hell right now and can not sleep lol, my F8 key always targets the npc guy that gives you the tags., and never the monsters.

          So fricken annoying. lol

Oh, so YOU'RE one of those people that takes the mob off into the middle of nowhere when I'm at a battle! I usually go SAM/DNC (and head to the Bastok areas, I can generally hold my own solo against a non-caster mob) or WHM/SCH if I'm in the mood (and/or planning to face casters, you'd be surprised how long you can stand against the caster NMs like that). I may have to come out WHM/RNG and make a point of hunting down soloers a time or three...

If you keep targeting people's pets with F8 type "/ignorepet on" and you'll no longer be able to target wyverns and summons of other people. Very useful for the tags NPC and a lot of other things.

lol. Its not that I target their pets. When I want to target a pet it works perfectly. For everything else though. omg... Forget it. lol Like I said tags npc, always targets a NPC or monster. If I want to target a NPC, it targets the tags, or monsters. If I want to target monster, it targets npcs. I hate it so much. lol

You can always try "/ta <stnpc>" -- you can use that to just cycle through NPCs, avoiding all the people in between. It would significantly decrease how much you need to tab, but only if it's not 5 million NPCs as tends to happen from time to time.

Huh... Never thought about that. Thanks! Usually the 5 million NPCs happen all the time for me though. lol

At this point, as fun as I think BST was to level, I can only tell anybody thinking of leveling it to be prepared for all sorts of unjustified disappointment. Occasionally, you'll get the group leader that recognizes that the job is perfectly adequate for a given event. I was recently invited to a Royal Ramble run. When the leader asked me if I had a DD, I said my jobs are RDM BST SCH. He told me to bring my BST. But all the while, I was worried he would tell me they are looking for "real DDs". All the while, I was worried that about how I was representing the job. All the while, I was angry that this MNK was geared in some of the shittiest of shit gear (put it this way, I hope he used his Ingot to buy an Amemet Mantle+1 at the very least), and the fact that he did won't reflect badly on all MNKs in the slightest. And you know what? Those are headaches that I just shouldn't have to live with.

Which goes to what hexx is saying about how nobody cares about his PLD getting merit points but him. Fact is he could sit in Whitegate all day with seek up and odds are he would never get one of those treasured Greater Colibri parties. Meanwhile, they will expect him to die for them because that's just what PLDs do. People won't even invite him to Nyzul Isle cause "lolpld in Nyzul". Perfectly understandable, tanks are kind of redundant in Nyzul, even if he can do serviceable damage. Just be aware that if you don't give a shit what PLDs want, PLDs won't give a shit what you want.

I'm going to be honest. I don't mind the people hiding mobs. You know why? Because I already know where the mobs are. And often I just sneak off without telling anybody where they are because the truth is those same people talking about common courtesy and the greater good of everybody getting EXP frankly don't give a damn if my BST gets goodies or not. Or even just give me the opportunity to strut some of my VERY hard earned gear. Being repeatedly turned down for the most mundane of Whitegate shout events has taught me that much.

Yes, it's more BST bitching and whining and angst. Yes, leveling the job has made me pessimistic about the player base as a community. Yes, thinking about perceptions of BST make me curse more than usual. But I think I've been giving plenty of reason to think people don't care if I get the most out of the experience of playing this game. So why should I believe that, just because we're in Campaign, suddenly it's all about common courtesy?

I don't mind people holding mobs off and soloing at all, it's the hiding that gets to me. Once the wave is done except for that last mob, the person soloing the mob is probably annoying a dozen people or more, just waiting on the wave to end (assuming people care for the union drops).

                          2) People who join HNM's knowing full well how demanding they are and after they get in you rarely see them online.

                          3) Whm's that don't use Regen.......at all.

                          4) Rdm's that don't refresh Drks, Blu's, etc.

                          5) People who are gently instructed by me, when I'm on brd, on where to stand so that songs can be put on the appropriate people yet they DO NOT LISTEN....no matter how many times you tell them.

                          6) Pt's that complain because you nuked too hard and drew hate but yet if you do not nuke hard enough they complain too......MAKE UP YOUR MIND!

                          7) Drks that don't know well enough when to cancel Souleater, Last Resort, or Berserk. OR one's that stack all three.....stop giving your healer a heart attack!!

                          8) Melee that just want to do big dmg even if it means pulling hate and wasting mp which makes it harder to do chains because mages have to rest and the chain is lost. HATE CONTROL PEOPLE!

                          9) Mages that don't understand the concept that Cure 4 pulls a LOT of hate!! When the leader says NO CURE 4's, he means NO CURE 4's!!!

                          10) Ok....this is a HUGE one for me....I could go on and on at great lengths about this one....WHY DO MAGES HAVE TO STAND IN AOE RANGE!!?? Dynamis, Hecatomb Wave, 99% of the ls has Slow....but me....cause I stand out of range....because slow is bad and whm's erasing every damn person every damn fight is a waste of mp......why!!? WHY!!?

                          11) Annoying calls in macros that people spam! <call11> gets your attention, its not annoying so WHY GOD WHY do you have to use <call>!!?

                          12) Why can't we turn down the volume on calls? We can for effects but not calls....why? Why can't we just disable the suckers!!? WHY!?

Ok...I have to get cleaning here soon so I'll stop. But trust me I could go on and on and on and on..... Its just human nature. We play with other real life people and we are not able to control their actions so we become frustrated when someone doesn't have the same opinion as we do. So most are said with jest and realizing that no one is perfect. Well I say.........TRY HARDER DANG IT!! (again...said in jest)
Rofl I Think You Covered It All xD Must Be Frustrating Huh... xD Tho It's True Good One ^^
Lol It's Hard To Talk Since I Haven't Played FFXI In 6 Months...

When the battle ends and the union treasure hasn't yet been distributed yet (because someone is asleep or something), and a battle starts again right away, and you join a union for the new battle... you lose your lot on the treasure.

A good time to find this out is when you still have a good roll pending for an item worth 50K gil. >.<

Tonight's peeve is an odd one: my friend.

The guy just got back on the game after a little under a year. This is the guy who first got me into the game, but dammit he's making shit difficult.

I've become a very bitter and jaded individual while he was away. I've learned much about the game and his ignorance and lack of ability to read situations in combat is driving me nuts. He's having trouble figuring out that he should maybe kill the links I slept for him before gallavanting off to kill a completely unrelated mob. He did this pretty much all night in Rolanberry.

Oh and did I mention he's a Monk? 29MNK/12THF to be exact. This is also the guy who thought MNK/SAM was awesome(it is on paper actually, until you realize H2H doesn't count as 2 handed weapon). Now he aspires to be a MNK/DRK so he can use Souleater with Hundred Fists.

                              /headdesk
                              /headdesk
                              /headdesk

I know he's only had a few months of actual game time, but dammit man give me something to work with here. He's so gung-ho about it all too, which makes it that much harder to crush his hopes and dreams. On the other hand, the bastard made PLing more difficult than it needed to be tonight by linking everything and its mother by refusing to move at all.

                              Into the wood-chipper with him!

Well you're Pl-ing him for a start. Allthough it's nice to help people level faster "sometimes faster" you should be aware of the effects of PLing an inexperienced player.

I have PL about 5 times in 4 years in this game even then I was reluctant to do so, You should only PL those you deem capable players because speeding the newbs along doenst do them any favours.
They are still clueless without a grasp of the system and to top that they have "X" ammount of levels added to them where they should have been learning and in a party being told off/guided by members.

Please don't take my post as an attack of your actions. Just to me you're peeved at your friend for him being oblivious to the simple things regarding survival. But your Pl is only fueling it.

You should do what I do when I mentor. I will only cure raise them after battle, After all I'm not always going to be there.
