These days, since the merge, Campaign itself could be something of a peeve. I was at a battle in West Sarutabaruta [s] and waves weren't lasting long. I did a /sea and found 95 people in zone...

Give it a few more days. It's already starting to get back to normal on Sylph now that the medal/gear/quest hounds have done their thing. The Northlands went back to beastmen control this weekend, and some of the nations actually lost territories in their areas.

I did several campaigns over the weekend as PLD, and nearly every time I started to raise somebody, someone with fast cast would run up and over-ride my casting, even though it was very obvious that I was raising the person. This happened at least 12 times in a row.

It's not always as obvious as you might think, especially if there are 50+ people in the zone with other players blinking in and out of existence, and chatspam means that they aren't likely to see that one line when you start casting. Then again, it might indeed have been obvious.

Then again, some of the worst raise stealers are the NPC white mages.

At least you're a PLD, you can take the mobs on directly without needing the exp from casting raise.

So then, I formed a party at the Leypoint. Our whole party had arrived and we were just about to start, when a few other people showed up. I said "please tell me you're not planning on camping on top of us" and their leader said, "well, you're not killing anything yet". So we immediately began pulling mobs. A few minutes later the rest of their party arrived and they camped on top of us. We finally gave up and tried to move, but people got frustrated and we ended up disbanding.

Last few weeks I've seen a new trend of ignorant pricks at the leypoint. You party is happily camping away then one or two people doing their magian weapons show up and camp on top of you killing just enough to mess up the chains.

Not a peeve, On Fenrir Sandoria came very close to owning the Throne Room in Campaign this week.

That one login screen that will time out if you don't hit "Accept" fast enough to suit it. There's too many damn "hit yes to proceed because you were going to do so anyway and we feel like wasting your time" prompts involved with logging in. It's just frustrating.

Oh that used to annoy the shit out of me. I'd start logging in then suddenly have to use the bathroom. Or get my son a drink. Or clean up <insert thing that was not really out of place but bothered my mother anyway and had to be taken care of right that second>. I'd come back and ... time out. So stupid.

At least it's not like WoW, though, where it would take me forever to log in and if I had to leave for more than 20 minutes, it would automatically d/c me. And there was no way to turn it off in that game. So then I'd have to go through their forever log in process all over again.

Stupid stupid stupid lamps in nyzul isle. Pointless time waste. Went 3/4 wins on my nuzul isle static. Wed had great success on all the lamp order previously but no F 39/40 12 minutes to go 5 lamp ORDER. FAIL we timed out. Runied a perfect nyzul isle static run

November 2009 NMs in conquest areas.

I call them "filler NMs" because their only reason for existence was to pad out the Hunt Registry. At least 90% of them drop mid-level crap, or materials to craft mid-level crap. When I hear about or see some random NM I've never heard of before, I check wiki and sure enough, the page was created in November 2009. (EDIT: and the NM has a two-hour repop time)

In fact, the only half decent drop I've heard of from them so far is the Cassandra / Helenus earring set, but that's basically equivalent to a Moldavite with +10MAcc (which I keep hearing is not all that useful) that takes up two slots, requires a higher level to wear (60 vs 47), has a much crappier drop rate (5% vs 25%), and you have to farm BOTH of them to get the MAB. And now you have two RareEx items instead of one. (Or maybe three if you already had Moldy.)

But that's not my pet peeve. My problem is the ones that aggro, which can be a pain in the butt for mid-level exp-ing. I've been killed by a couple of the coeurl ones, and the one in Zi'Tah was already sitting on a dead guy when he saw me.

Thanks again, SE, for dropping more useless crap in the middle of mid-exp areas just so you can say "look at the new contents we maded!"


And speaking of useless crap, my other recent pet peeve... brown chests with evoliths in them. It's bad enough that they're RareEx and not stackable, but since I don't want augmented items (more un-muleable junk to pork my already tight inventory), it's like getting the proverbial lump of coal for Christmas. Only you can't even burn it to keep warm for an hour. They should have made them in addition to the "sell to NPC" tchotkes, not instead of. Because as it is, I've spent two minutes and a bit of luck getting that thing open, only to find yet another stupid "+1 Poision effect in water weather" lump of coal.

MAcc is useless? News to me, I'm glad no one spends gil on the Elemental Staves for that. I mean, who needs help preventing resists anyway. All our magic lands perfectly all the time.

10MAcc is half the MAcc from the NQ Elemental staves, I would hardly call it useless.

Speaking of this, during the video footage of Pookypoo's FFXIV experience I noticed a distinct lack of multiple prompts. Now I know this is Alpha, and I'm sure it's going to change some. I'm just hopeful they mightcut it down to like Login > 1-2 prompts > Logo Screen> character selection. Though I wish they would incorporate the Logo Screen with one of the prompts, or the Login.

Lottery nm's. specifically lottery nm's off of 1 guy. take bugbear strongman for example. could spawn in 15 mins, could spawn in 10 hours. And la velue. F*** la velue.
