This would be more annoying if every Dark Knight on every server hadn't shown us why it's not a terrible idea.

That and the fact that the amount you have to wait is pretty much the time between attack rounds if you had stayed engaged anyways. Maybe a bit of extra overhead from drawing your weapon, but still.

Do a lot of Assault. After you rank up twice, you can buy a Lamiabane or one of the other two like it. Throwing ring weapon, no ammo, any job. Minuses are the IS cost and the pain of getting people to do the low level assults you need for rank points instead of their favorite assault point farming ones.

I already know about those range weapons. There is no way I can 1shot anything where I farm at with those. I need to do a minimum of 130 damage

Everyone knows how rare it usually is that a nation takes another nation's starter region, right? Well, in the nearly two years since I've started playing, Windurst has taken another region exactly ZERO times. And I have only three of the other four, including Sandy->Gustaberg as of last week.

Remember those server merges that are happening next week? Someone from my ls was creating temp chars on Sylph to check for name conflicts. And ohey, Windurst has Ronfaure over there (or maybe it was Gustaberg).

And it's not like anybody can bitch at them for doing this the week before the merge, since by the time the news got sprung on everyone, the week in which they made the effort to take it was over and tally was already happening. Nobody could have known.

So, yeah, no starter zone OPs for Windurst on Fairy in years (we're doing good to take Zulkheim once a year), and we get merged into a server that just had one the week before the merge. Oh well, at least the Windurst folks over there cared enough to try.

If I had a choice of compensation for being forcibly moved, I would be happy to have "all three starter OPs on all three nation allegiances". (I would of course expect reasonable limitations like "character must be at least 90 days old", so inb4 "but that could be abuuuuuused!")

EDIT: Oh yeah, and the other day I was trying to do the cutscenes to get to Purple the New Black to help someone in my ls do the fight. First dance starts, PFFT my PS2 crashes. Try it again, and the first dance works, but the main dance scene PFFT. Not doing that fight tonight.

Run a file check. Thank you SE for making us go through 45 minutes of file checking, make us be there to say WHY YES I WANTED TO FIX THAT ONE FILE, not do fumbling with the joypad and accidentally cancelling it, then running the file check for another 45 minutes because they couldn't be arsed to remember the list of ONE FILE that was bad. One file was bad, but it didn't fix the crash. Run the PS2 disk test, no errors. The cut scene still kept crashing the PS2.

I ended up getting a decent spec (aside from having crap graphics chip) Dull laptop at a pawn shop for less than the cost of a new X360 (I'm mostly Mac here, so I can use it for other Winders type stuff, and my only other PC runs W2K which is now not supported), had the usual fun getting updated, and 36 hours after the initial problem, I finally get the cutscene cleared.

And another peeve: apparently when you click away from the POL window on PC, it goes into a low-priority mode. (This must be related to SE's own windower thingy being so crap.) When you try to run an update without the POL window in front, not only does it run slower, but eventually it gets network timeout problems and gives up on the update. All because you clicked on the desktop by accident with nothing else running.

This crab is apparently one of the new NMs from the November update, and it's a right bastard and god tier lulz from SE.

Picture in your mind if you will a zone. A zone full of people skilling up and doing FoV pages. Now add a crab. But not just any crab. This crab can hold his own against a full party of level 75s. And he's an NM, so he doesn't depop.

Now add one blonde. She lingers in front of the crab a bit too long when told to run, and gets aggro. "Go to somewhere safe to reraise!" you tell her. After a minute or so she goes down, but still impresses you with how long it took. Then you check the map and find out she died at the outpost. Oops. Oh the humanity! (and the elvaanity and the galakanity, etc.)

You check your map again. Where are you? You are in the Teriggan Zone.

About a dozen deaths later, the crab eventually wandered back to its stomping grounds, ready to bring more lulz.

Smooth move, SE, adding a sound aggro NM mob to a busy zone. Truly, Teriggan has become the new Doons.

I organized prommy runs for Mea and Holla and honestly i can't understand the unwillingness of people to cooperate. On Holla Run, we had a RNG. I told him to stand back and shoot Strays that pop while the other DD's focused on the Memory Recp. Well, I nearly died from all the strays attacking me at each MR. >.<

Does the same thing at mea and eventually we wiped at boss fight, though honestly it was the toughest boss of the three so I feel it was more of a group effort fail.

Later, tried it again with 3x War/nin and other jobs. We each provoked when our shadows were down taking turns with tanking. Things went well. Until one of the pick up war/nin stops voking and the other starts getting wailed on. Well I voke it off him, and I die since the other war was still at like 15%. I also had a strategy for the animas. At 60% there was an order for each person to use animas and that same war/nin complained about being an order. Well when i died, he just started using his animas and f***ed up the entire order. At least we won though, barely cause everyone 2hrd. Everyone who didn't die was like at 50hp.

tl;dr I hate people who don't follow strategy/orders.

Stupid people can mess up a run very well, be it Promies or Nyzul. We spent 10 minutes on a registration lamp floor because somebody didn't catch a clue. We managed to clear 5 floors anyway, and ended up on floor 6 with about a minute to go...

Leathercraft around 49 or so. It had been a long time since I had taken a good look at what to do, and having recently gotten two jobs over 50, I finally decided it was time to finish my Crow set, and that meant getting my Leathercraft up to 60.

So I go out to Sauromugue and start farming Skinks as WHM/THF. Two hours later I have three skins... and five Fernan's Diaries.

Then I look at the recipe list on Alla, since it's a nice concise list by level. I'm surprised to see entire levels with only one recipe. So I figure, "Others have been here before, let's check the guides on wiki". That's when my jaw hits the floor.

I saw one actually suggesting a recipe using Fragrant Ram Skin, as though anima-ed materials grew on trees. Nobody sells them because it was a lot of work to get those key items, and the profit is in the final item. (for instance, Warp Clubs) If this was for a post-60 synth, I could understand, but for a 52 cap? And when the stuff is only used for that one synth?

Another suggests Catoblepas Leather, but then mentions that nobody exps on them any more. Looking further, apparently this was pretty much added by SE as a bridge synth for leathercraft! Thanks SE, for the fuckover that is ToAU that keeps melees from leveling past 60 on anything but lawn ornaments. (I hope to see that get a bit of a shakeup when Abyssea comes out. But it's not going to get people going to Bibiki Bay.)

The only half decent suggestion I can see uses Moblin Sheepskins. They can't be sold on the AH, and they only come from Movalpolos, where nobody exps. The only thing making this worth a try is the decent drop rate from lv 33-36 moblins, and only needing to bring wind crystals. That'll get me to 52, then I can bring tanning vat stuff to get to 54. If the drop rate sucks, my THF is already at 45, so I can throw some TH2 on that shit.

EDIT: Oh, and about that Sandy taking Gustaberg thing. Last week they almost took it again, and yesterday they were already in the lead. Why would they be trying to take it again? Turns out they weren't even trying to take Gustaberg. It's just that most of the people doing Astral Burns lately are from San duh'Oria. Of course Saruta doesn't have a good AB zone. Canal is too high level for the pullers (at least at 75 cap), and Horutoto is too low level to get exp off of at level 10+ (to allow sync), and mobs are kind of sparse anyhow. Giddeus is probably too low as well. And Maze is in Kolshushu.
