We kinda figured that out once we got him down to ~20% and started spamming it nonstop. Everything had been going fine up until then.

If everything was going fine until ~20%, then where was all of your Anima? Hysteroanima (the one that gives it Amnesia) in particular becomes quite crucial during the final stretch of any of those fights.

Holla always seems to be the one that can wipe even the most prepared of parties.
Personally it took me and my friend 6 attempts until we cleared it. that was mixed in with attempts with the usual nonsense
like when you ask if everyone has all 3 mian Anima they all say yes then you find you only have about 6 between you all.

We all had Pyschoanima and Hysteroanima and we were popping them off at 20% intervals so knocking him down to less than a quarter of his health wasn't hard, but then he started cutting loose once we ran out of animas and it all went downhill from there.

After swearing it off for a couple of years, I've finally decided to make a 2nd attempt at leveling BLU sub for my upcoming DRG.

Learning BLU spells is the worst activity in the game, hands down, not even a remote contest. I would rather pay 50,000 per scroll per spell than deal with the learning system.

Not saying that he would have the same gear available that I have as a career mage, just throwing it out there.

His body armor looked magey, but I didn't bother /checking. The under-leveled subjob made me giggle. To be fair though he was able to keep up pretty well and we didn't end up curing over each other too often. I'm not a fan of PLs, but as far as PLs go he was one of the better ones I've had.

I kinda wish there were more Galka players around. All the ones I've played with have been pretty cool. The WAR tank didn't bleed so much and was great at finding reps to keep the party going, the THF was an excellent puller and damage dealer, the PLD knew what the hell he was doing, the PL didn't get in the way as much as others have, and the BST was a good second 'voke and was willing to wander around to new camps.
I'm sure there are plenty of folks on the other end of the spectrum but damn do I need to make a point of inviting Galkas more often.

Solo'n THF/DNC ... omg it's just soooooooo sloooooooow. Those damn eyes in Beaucedine were seriously getting on my nerves. And then that new NM Giga surprised the holy hell outta me by showing up to my fun uninvited. Getting any parties has been like finding a needle in a haystack. The one invite I get, we go to Crawler's Nest and then about 45min after we get there the leader/levelsync/tank dc's. I'm sure he didn't want to since it took forever gather everyone into CN... so it was just my luck. 2 of the others party members were leaving so it wasn't worth it for the rest of us to look for 3 reps and a level synch and a tank.

Needing to farm more fame for cities to unlock quests.

I was all set to go quest my Teleport-Holla scroll last night until I realized I don't have enough fame in Sandy to unlock it. Luckily one showed up on the AH for only 10K.

I knocked out the Teleport-Dem scroll no problem, but now I'm looking at the horrible prospect of having to not only go to Windurst but also having to spend time there doing quests just to farm up the fame to unlock the quest for Teleport-Mea. This would be less of a problem if there were any scrolls on the AH and if they were going for less than 100K.

Oh the things I do for my Linkshell...

Windy fame is easy if you have a Bastok mule and Bastok isn't in last place. It's easier still if you have quick travel between the two cities. If Bastok spends weeks at a time in last place, it's kind of rough...

Vorpal Blade build or some sort of hybrid TP/Death Blossom build for campaign battles? *shrug*

Save for the Hedgehog Bomb (expensive) and possibly a pair of Avocat Pigaches (sort of endgame-ish), the play doesn't seem to be using anything expensive or endgame. (I can't identify the gloves, though.) Maybe he's a relatively new player?
