This is more likely, especially when you see the people trying to grief in campaign doing something like voking the NM then running towards the nearest group of people. Seriously, someone did this with Shadowhand and wiped off of the people in a campaign zone within minutes.

Then there are the people who like to drag mobs off into inaccessible parts of the zone like over the river or through the gate to the Ronfaure zone (the one that you need a key item to get through) in Jugner or down one of the drops in Eldieme. I actually called a GM on the guy who keeps pulling mobs over the river or taking it through the gate (yes it's the same freaking guy both times) and the GMs won't do a thing.

Uh no. The reason people is mentioning it now is because of Union coffers and the inability to go back to the area where they spawn unless you: a) Are lucky and have the right doors open after campaign. b) Are able to get to G-9 to go back the old fashion way.

Now, I don't know if theres a switch somewhere or if the doors open after a certain time, or at random (as I have seen them open and close frecuently enough.) Either way most of the times you will be unable to go back to the area where the coffers are in time to claim the spoils unless someone from your Union happens to be on the other side to open it.

You can then zone out in many ways to get back to the entrance.

PS > Not like I ever get anything good mind you, but losing a coffer even if all you get is a Gnole claw will never stop being annoying.

Speaking of RDM and PLD in Campaign, it's actually rather clear and comical it is how good these jobs are at Campaign. I thought PLD/DNC was the best job combo hands down, but after a little misadventure in Garlaige Citadel [s], it looks like I'm going to have to re-evaluate. These jobs are so good in fact that they sub each other (as some may have notice, my position on /PLD subjob in Campaign is unabashedly positive, for both my RDM and my BST). In Garlaige, me and 2 LS mates were there.

          RDM/PLD (me)
          PLD/RDM
          PLD/RDM

Practically tanked the entire Yagudo troops that came sans the NM who we let engage the fort first (and when I say "tanked the entire Yagudo troop", I mean we literally ran up to the mobs and Diaga'd all of them), the NM we then proceeded to trio after the rest were dead. Because of how few people go to Garlaige Citadel [s], I can safely say we won the entire Campaign (twice over because there were 2 troops).

It's a bit of a pity /PLD doesn't have quite as much application outside of this sort of tanking. I've basically come to label Sentinel "The Cheater's Way to Hold Hate". Engage->Sentinel->Flash->Shield Bash->Primal Rend + Shepherd's Drink when low on HP = CourierCarrie tanks SomeYagudo the Peerless for 50% of the battle. Speaking of which:

Dear SE: Make it expensive and situational if you want, but how about making Shepherd's Drink buyable on the AH?

Paladin who actually keeps the mobs off the mages instead of just hitting them or the White Mage that has been keeping you alive instead of just hitting the mobs
I don't quite get what is with this idea that only PLDs are capable tanks in Campaign. The mobs practically seemed tailored so that a wide variety of jobs can tank them. Maybe the experience on your server is different, but on my server, it feels to me like people just can't resist trying to rip hate off each other. I personally think it's hilarious when I see NINs or WARs and other jobs come by and try to Provoke or Animated Flourish and stuff then eventually just give up when they see it just won't work. I mean...the hell if I am going to be one upped by a RDM or a lowly BST, amirite?! (not PLD though. You will never beat a PLD at their own game...well...a PLD/DNC maybe)

I have a lot of fun tanking campaign mobs on WHM/SCH. Actually a WHM/SCH are very good at tanking the Yag BLM mobs purely because WHMs can make themselves practically immune to magic with a few merits.

My complaint about PLDs in campaign is that they rarely bother holding hate in campaign. I've died so many times on WHM because I was nice enough to cure someone then died to the inevitable hate pull it's just not funny anymore.

I've lost count of the number of times some random Imp aggro has killed me because I kept getting the "Event Interupted" message while trying to run back through the door to the Mire Runic Portal. It's always the one Imp just around the corner that flew behind a tree that would block the line of sight for any mage but mobs can see straight through.

The ones on the ferry are bloody annoying too. Especially when you're closely following someone, the door slams shut on you then Mr Sea Horror decides to aggro you through the door while the fishbots get an aggro free fishing session while you lose out on about 7-10k worth of fish because you spend an entire voyage trying to kill the thing as a WHM/BLM with no gear except a Light/Dark Staff and Fishing Gear.

Had my 1st experience of selfish campaigners. 40 People in the zone had to wait 20 Minutes for some selfish dirty RDM who grabbed one of the mobs and went for a cuddle with it in some corner of the zone. I waited after everyone had gone cause I was so annoyed by it and an sure enough an Invis 75 rdm wonders in a few minutes after everyone else had left pretending it wasnt them.

Theres no need for such selfish behaviour and not likes its epeen to solo a weak ass campaign mob. Hell I can solo one of those mobs sam/dnc but I wouldnt do it cause whats the point in making everyone wait cause I want to polish my balls. I made a point of checking if that fool was in a zone I went to campaign in for the rest of the time.

                /

As RDM/PLD I have tanked (and survived) most NMs in Sandy areas while seeing PLDs around me dropping like flies.

Now, I don't know if it's because they don't take the fights seriously but having only Aegis PLDs ( o_O; ) and others with expensive looking gear surviving something a crappy geared RDM (that would be me) can tank just doesn't make PLD look very good on Campaign.

And that's not even counting RDM/NIN, although I can't keep any hate with that combo.

Fortunately it seems like the new Campaign gear has made PLDs a bit better prepared, since I haven't seen them die as often after the update. Gotta love VIT +29 and dmg taken -12% (...and I guess the RMT pieces of gear helped too.)

On NMs they don't do it because they will die if they do. I've had PLDs trying desperately to steal hate from me, only to get killed shortly after accomplishing their goal.

Just who are these spineless PLDs people are seeing? They usually have no problems with tanking even NMs from what I've seen. I'd call them the one job I would defer to, and toss them Haste and Shell IV and stuff like that. The ones that tank often say they do precisely because they don't really get to anywhere else at 75, unless they're endgame (one of those PLD I mentioned considers PLD his main, but the only time he ever plays it is when we do Proto-Ultima, Campaign, or Ballista...and even in Ballista, he's made some religious shift to RNG/RDM lately)

EDIT: We all have a job we don't like to see in Campaign. And seeing as RDM, PLD, and WHM have such a high representation as the loathesome jobs in Campaign, it would only be fair if I get one too. I don't like MNKs. If they don't sub /DNC (and this is purely to keep themselves alive), they don't do anything. They don't Stun. They don't Sleep. All they literally do is suck up MP and beg for Cures. And that's all they're good for. No other job has such a singular way to contribute to what's going on. We all hate people who just passively auto-attack and ride on the coat tails of people who are actively engaged on what's going on. And passively attacking is, funny enough, all MNK is really designed to do.

I don't know who they are, but they are the ones lying down dead after the crowd disperses after killing the NM.

And I will get 3.5-5k XP/AN shortly after.

Edit > Well... 2.5k-4k XP/AN since there's more people fighting Campaign nowadays.

As far as spinless PLD's is concerned, dunno what kind of shit heads you have met in campaign, but I jump in headfirst, even if it means I'm gonna get pwned by the boss, I always make sure to have RR up so i'm not layin there waitin for a raise. Then again, ya gotta remember that level sync has generated a whole new type of dumbass player LOL so I'm inclined to believe you have across one or two stupid PLDs.

I'm usually able to solo a couple of mobs before people get to me so it's ok. And I always stay within visible range (just far enough for people to aim at closer mobs before mine )

Then again specially in Eldieme I'm usually able to solo a NM from time to time. Mad notez ftw.

Your problem is that everybody and their mother is doing Campaign. Already though there are less people this week than last week. The problem with hiding mobs is that you cannot kill one by yourself at a reasonable pace. I'd dare to say the most annoying thing ever is sitting at the fort with no mobs wondering if there is another group coming and when do we get to see our union drops. If your problem is people kill the mobs in swarms, then obviously there are some among them that are capable of holding mobs off the fort, but aren't.

Or maybe you're going to Jugner Forest way too much. Fort Karugo-Narugo, Garlaige Citadel, Pashhow Marshlands, and Crawlers Nest always seem to suffer from lack of participation.
