The absolute impossibility of receiving an invite during JP hours on corsair with anything other than /whm and at a push /nin.

I've taken great care levelling to ensure I research the job as much as possible and to gear it effectively and yet /rng may as well be invisible until the clock ticks over into EU/NA hours. At 59, the rare party invites I do receive from JPs generally result in praise when they realise I can not only buff but also lay down sufficient damage (650-800 Slug Shots depending on buffs) as to ensure a really smooth exp chain. Yet the masses seem to prefer I /whm and drop my three to four rolls and stand around like some gimp support job and toss out the occasional heal with a mana pool barely sufficient to cast two Cure III's.

You know, maybe it's just my server, but even during all NA events that I join, the CORs still don't seem to ever sub /RNG. It's getting to be kind of sad because I really would like to see one in action.

EDIT: Come to think of it, there is even a COR in my LS who always subs /NIN and gets TP by frontlining because he thinks bullets are too expensive. Well...yeah...but if you're worried about price, I think COR was the wrong job to play.

Wouldn't COR/RDM be more useful than COR/WHM anyway since you get everything /WHM gives you plus MAB for Quick draw then Phalanx added to Stoneskin and Blink for damage mitigation as well as gravity to keep mobs near the melees incase you draw hate. COR/SCH would have been more useful then COR/WHM too but you get no damage mitigation buffs from that and no MAB.

Couple of things:
Phalanx is weaker on a job without innate Enhancing magic skill.
Gravity will rarely, if ever, land on a job with no innate Enfeebling magic skill.

EDIT: Being a player who has been on this game a long time sure is alienating. I can't seem to keep up with trends sometimes. For example, I know Scorpion Harness is nowhere near premium gear on this game now. But sometimes I still look at the AH and think, "Whoa, when did it get that cheap?!"

I hate people. I really do.

I spent far too long lfp on my drk68 yesterday and didn't get a sniff of an invite. Fine I'm use to that having levelled this damn job on two other characters before. So whilst lfp I try some campaign, mobs turn up I stand and wait for them to attack the OP before picking them off one by one. Do the idiots around me decide to do the same thing? No, they attack the NM head on then run around like headless chickens so that anyone with a tag gets aggro. Death #1

Ok I've got RR so I wait for the mobs to attack the OP after killing everyone before I get up. A few of us RR and run to a safe place to rest. Cue Mr Thief who decides to attack something then run straight towards the resting masses. Death #2.

RR again. Find a nice safe spot away from everyone else, recast RR and rest. Another idiot comes along and does the exact same thing as the thf, everyone starts dying but I'm miles away from them so it's ok. Nope because the entire group stands en-mass and runs right towards.... me /sigh. Death #3

Battle ends, we lose. Now you might think this is a one off, but noooooooo these idiots stalk me during every campaign I join. Numerous deaths later I gave up on campaign and decided to make a party because there's loads of people lfp.

Well I say loads there's 1 tank, two healers and 1 brd along with a cr*pload of DDs.

Whm>> I'll join when you get a brd
Rdm>> I'll join when you get a tank
Pld#1>> ... (seems to be afk)
Pld#2>> Do you have a healer? Invite me after you have a healer

I tell the rdm I've found a tank and he'll join when he does.
Rdm>> Pld tank {no thanks}

Fine!

I'll ask the brd, whm and pld#2 then.

Brd>> LOLZ drk ldr {No thanks}

So I invite the whm, then the pld and tell them the brd won't accept an invite from a DD. I asked them to invite him then pass ldr back to me.
Pld>> No! ur not dumping ldr on me!
Whm>> No brd no pt /pcmd leave

Pld then disbands.

If. I have never used the pay taru. Because my first main is WHM, and now I have all the teleport and warp spells. And I don't play enough in AU to set my home point there.

But my real peeve here is people who have an elitist attitude about the free warp taru. Yes, elitist.

I don't think people are being elitist about not using the free warp taru. They simply realize that the pay one is better. He actually warps you to Jeuno, rather than near Jeuno. And he can warp you directly to the outpost taru in your hometown, which I use constantly (and I too have all the tele's and warps). The pay taru is simply convenient and reliable as hell... He never gets himself kidnapped, his fees are cheap, and he knows what he's doing, whereas the free one is still learning how to do his job. One is a professional and the other is an amateur (which by definition means he does it for free)

Peeve: D/C'n in Besieged right before it ends. Nothing like going thru a hour of death, stress, and just absolute crazyiness and then having something totally out of your control make it all worthless. This has been covered, I know. Hell, I covered it several times. I've tried all the tricks... but it's so unpredictable, it can happen at any time for any reason it seems. It simply makes no sense to me that Besieged is still broken for a large section of the FFxi userbase. Yeah, yeah... PS2 game ported to my 360, whatever. DAMN YOU SE/M$ !!!! Get your collective sh!t together.

Even with all the dmg I'd taken and hate I'd stolen I couldn't get any skill-ups on Evasion.... so it makes the wasted hour even worse when your LS-mates say "Hey, at least ya got skill-ups" I DID NOT !!!! I've capped the weapons I'm using.

Current highest dmg taken in one-shot from melee ~ 3639 (eva + can I has?)

Princess BRD rears her ugly head. Though I'm a little dismayed to see Princess Healers are in our midst as well. Especially that RDM who won't party with a PLD. What happened? Too good to cast Refresh and Haste on the some person?

More BST Prima Donna-age coming up...Maybe I should just renounce calling my RDM my "main" and just admit I like BST more...

Thereby confirming that I am not capable of pulling my own weight? I swear, I went to Limbus as BST, the WHM hasted me, and I just kept thinking, "Wow. Why does it feel like that's never happened before?"

People like this are the reason as to why I don't party.

The rdm is a dumbass, and you probably didn't want him anyways. He probably didn't even have refresh.

The Brd is just an ass. Whats so bad about Drks being leaders? I have great parties with Drks as leaders.

When I played as Sam, I never had this issue. But as War, Drk, and Nin, I always had this issue. Whats with people, doing that kind of thing?

There is no "optimal" party set up. There are however... Good and Bad players. Your job doesn't determine how well you play, your skill does. (Starts to ramble on and on...)

I like partying with DRKs when on PLD. They are squishy and have no damage mitigation abilities so they know they they have to tow the hate line. I find that the average pick up SAM or WAR usually goes all out with the damage because of /NIN then wonders why they have that little skull in their status bar so often.

BSTs don't typically get hasted because 2 handed users get a highly priority in the haste cycle. I don't know how other WHMs operate but for me it usually goes:

Most Important (Always get a haste no matter what): Whoever is tanking
Second most important (Will get a haste without asking as long as my MP can support it): DRK, MNK (PLD tank), WAR, DRG, BLM (if we need stun), myself (If we really need lots of Curaga), DD PLD, DD NIN
Third most important (Don't usually get a haste unless they ask me to or my MP can support adding them): SAM (Hasso), THF, DNC, BST, BLM, PUP
Usually don't bother hasting (Usually because they don't need haste): BLU (Refuelling), SMN, RNG, COR, RDM, SCH, MNK (Ninja Tank), BRD
