Yeah I'm liking PLD a lot, it's a fun job especially since I mostly play healer/support jobs. I can't wait until I get flash back for PLD. DDs tend to go a bit crazy with the damage when there's a THF in the party.

I've sort of given up on COR for the time being because the Taru that sells JA dices is never there when I have the gil to buy them

I'd probably take BLM further if I enjoyed soloing on it but it's just stressful more than anything especially when you get competition of people who don't understand the concept of co operation. By far the biggest jerks I've met are JP BLU and BST duos moving in on the stuff you're trying to kill and pretend to ignore you when you try to ask them nicely to use another camp.

that's it for now but I got a million more
      1. So that people don't bug you to help them if you are 75, or just don't want people bugging them for party invites. (Brd, Whm, Sch Ect)
      2. So they don't accidentally sell an item, toss it, or just to show it off.
      3. Hate that.
      4. I tried that a few times. Its when people don't listen to you, and the ones who sell the Animas you worked your ass off for.
      5. Letting the Wyvern die reduces the MP usage on the mage if they are low on mp.
      6. Yes. Those people piss me off as well.
      7. No matter how many times you try to say that you did something, they wont believe you.
      8. I had that issue all the time when I played GW, and WoW. FFXI never had that issue.
      9. I like it when it does that when you are selling stuff, but when you gotta buy it, it sucks. Its a good time to get money though when that happens. Deal with it.
      10. I play the way I want. Not the way some ass tard wants me to play. If I want to go as a War with a sword, I will, sam with a club, so be it. But I will always go with the right gear/attitude when doing an event or partying.
      11. (Read 6)

You reminded me of a pet peeve that I had as well.

I like to play Red Mage as a melee not as a mage job. When I get /tells saying that I suck, because I am using daggers, or swords, and not a staff and nuking(or healing), it pisses me off. Especially when I am killing faster than their party (And getting a decent amount of exp). I'd be sittin there, Utsusemi, Enspell (if needed) same with Phalanxe SS, and haste. I sit there and whack away at the mob, kill it grab another before the party even got theirs down to 1/2 hp.

I also like to play the way I WANT not the way others want. If I sit there and use a Club on a Blm, I get yelled at players saying tha tusing club sucks. But in actuallity its better than using a staff (pre 50, and some times post 50). The INT will help you land nukes better and deal more dmg. The more damage you can deal, the less you need to nuke, which intern means you need less MP to kill a monster. Same when I played as Warrior. i used a Sword, and when I hit 20, I was dual wielding Iron Swords, and I was dealing almost twice as much as a GA warrior. (I was hitting for 25 Dmg each strike = 50 total. GA warrior was hitting for about 70 dmg each strike. I hit about 2.5X faster than he did, to I delt a total of 250 damage the time it took him to hit for 70 damage.) But I get yelled at being called a No0b (Yes exactly like that) for using swords, and dealing more damage than the GA warrior (the one that called me a No0b.).

A new pet peeve though is... The endless grind needed to raise crafting. Frankly, I got bored of it, and its made me put off of FFXI for a bit. I'm tired of needing to craft like 28+ things just to raise 1 level in the craft. Its getting repettitive and tiresome.

((Sorry. I just needed to let out some steam. I'm not mad at anyone here, I just had a bad day today. -.-; ))

that's it for now but I got a million more
        1. I go anon alot sometimes cos i dont want to be bothered, as pld i do get alot of party invites when i dont want them and /anon is a good way to go
        2. Showoff items, make sure you dont drop things, etc
        3. To tell the truth i can understand why some people would want to help just their friends, maybe the other people in ls are a bunch of jerks who dont deserve their help?
        4. This i do agree
        5. If the mages are almost outta mp or dont have much of it then I'd rather just let it die and resummon it.
        6. What you've shown so far I'm not surprised people doubt your skills using a job. But people do have off days and it does get annoying when people bitch at you when you do one thing wrong or get tired and cant play so good.
        7. People have different methods to how they do things ingame, seems these people maybe just as stubborn as you on how things should be done.
        8. Who are you to say Casual gamers don't know anything about strategy? There are many websites on ffxi that have many tried and tested methods on misions, etc, even though they're casual players dont mean they haven't done something a 1000times over. Then again what is your definition of a casual player?
        9. I hate this when it happens but i also hate it in reverse (only when i'm selling things) XD
        10. People who dont listen to reason annoy me too ingame but who are you to say what is the right way to do things either?
        11. Although i find it annoying SOMETIMES I usually find that people will have experience with a job whether it be playing it themselves, has a friend who's leveled it or has experience playing with the job in parties and how they work well in them. I've gotten some useful advice from all of these about pld, it's useful to see what people think from all perspeectives.

          /sighhhhhhhhh

When I have a limited time to party ... but it's more than three hours. Which is plenty, but I have specific yet attainable goals. So I get the party, and I know I want to hit 73 today because that's easily doable in 3 hours. I was at like 22k, trust me that's easily done in 3 hours even in the worst of fucking parties.

And we get to xping for like 45 minutes and the damn COR has to leave, without warning of course. And you can't just replace a COR, because there is never another COR or a BRD seeking. So disbanded. I have a little over two hours left at this point before kings open, so, defeated, I head off to Kuftal with my NPC to skill up.

          /sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh

It's not so much that I had limited time, it's just that we had such a good thing going - steady 10k/hr after ring had worn - and it was fucked so swiftly in the ass. And then that two hours remaining just isn't enough time to look for another party and actually gather at a camp and start doing our thing. So yeah, kind of annoys me when I think I'm gonna get something done, but someone else over whom I have no control ruins that completely.

In the "Accomplishments" thread, was talking about co-tanking as a BST in Temenos on Friday and found the experience to go suprisingly well. Especially when the goal is to go with as few possible as possible, meaning other people go to other runs, meaning more Ultima/Omega fights in the long run. But small groups also means the ideal jobs will not always be available. Yes, elementals here are not particularly vicious hardhitters, but opening the job up to more possible roles never hurts. I don't find FFXI Wiki's description of the job as a "miscellaneous damage dealer" particularly flattering personally.

But oh no, not the Allakhazam BSTs. The job practically pays for itself and then some while leveling, and people are worried that I am saying we should (gasp) use pet food for an event. It's like saying I don't want to use Echo Drops because it's really just Silena for 800 gil!

EDIT: Then again, there really are people who don't want to use Echo Drops because it's just Silena for 800 gil.

So now I'm stuck. If I say "Nevermind I'm not going to help you then if I don't get to be the only person that helps you" I look like a total douche, but the alternative is to tool around wasting my time while they build this utterly overkill group just so I can walk to the fight and watch them smashy things for less than 10 seconds and say grats.
I don't mind people calling to see if anybody else happens to need the mission, but if they're going for that sort of overkill, I'll probably tell them they don't need my help and just leave if I have something I'd rather be doing.

Oh, and regarding the /anon thing above, people just sitting around like that don't bother me, it's the farmers/campers where that info would tell you what they're up to and that it's probably not worth the effort. I encountered a THF farming rams in Konschtat like that, and I really wouldn't have bothered to go there myself if I'd known...

WARs who Warcry to pull off a WS that was definitely gonna cause hate problems even without the Warcry in situations where hate does matter.

Generating a Flash's worth of extra hate is TOTALLY worth that extra 10% e-peen on your WS. You'd think they'd at least have the brains to Warcry before getting on the hate list if they're gonna do Warcry-WS at the beginning of a fight.

It's even funnier when you are nice enough to Cover them but they either:

                      1) Run out of the way because you're blocking their view because they're too lazy to step back and zoom out.

                      2) Complain that you're blocking their view because they're too lazy to step back and zoom out then run away.

                      3) Try to run behind the mob to SA them because you're taking damage so they assume that you have hate and now they can get a ton more hate from a SA-Sturmwind.

                      4) Don't get behind you until cover had worn then wonder why they're taking a ton of damage still.

                      5) Book it to the zone line because the mob looked at the ultra leet uber pwn Warrior funny.

                      6) All of the above.

WHM Maat and Blink was funny. One of my attempts went something like this:

                            Sardia starts Casting Banishga
                            Maat starts Casting Banishga III
                            Sardia casts Banishga
                            Sardia starts casting Repose
                            Sardia Casts Repose
                            Repose resisted
                            Sardia starts running
                            Maat Casts Banishga III
                            Sardia's buffs go bye bye
Maat smacks Sardia around a few times when turning at the bottom of the arena
                            Maat Casts Paralyze
                            Sardia uses a potion
Sardia gets smacked around a bit more
                            Maat casts Silence
Sardia stop to use an Echo Drop
                            Maat uses Asuran Fists
Sardia asks the LS if they want to go on another Testi farming trip.

I don't imagine what RDM Maat must be like. Good luck

The absolute impossibility of receiving an invite during JP hours on corsair with anything other than /whm and at a push /nin.

I've taken great care levelling to ensure I research the job as much as possible and to gear it effectively and yet /rng may as well be invisible until the clock ticks over into EU/NA hours. At 59, the rare party invites I do receive from JPs generally result in praise when they realise I can not only buff but also lay down sufficient damage (650-800 Slug Shots depending on buffs) as to ensure a really smooth exp chain. Yet the masses seem to prefer I /whm and drop my three to four rolls and stand around like some gimp support job and toss out the occasional heal with a mana pool barely sufficient to cast two Cure III's.
