Actually, why would you SATA at 60+, when you get more damage out of splitting the SA and TA portions?
Because doing SATA on the tank is more hate than doing TA separately, and because closing a Skillchain with a SATA WS will do more damage than closing with just SA or TA.

Doesn't mean it's always the best options but there are reasons to do it even past 60.

My current peeve is having some free time but I'm having log in issues now. (Anyone else having problems?) Here I rushed around so that I could either farm to get my whm spells or get on and work on /nin and nada. /stompfeet /pullouthair

A bit over 3 hours in Behemoth's Dominion: 13 Blue Caskets, 15 Brown, 153 kills. No freaking Sabatons. Never mind the fact that I've spent over 8 hours in Xarcabard without getting the Gauntlets as well.

This is starting to get pretty retarded and it's pissing me off. The handful of people I know with Gothic gear didn't have to try this hard. Goddamn.

People who don't understand that when I have no MP, they should hold back a little. Tonight in Dynamis - Valk, after we get SJ back, of course I have to spend about 400 MP to rebuff, and also another 150 to Raise someone. On top of that, a huge mess of mobs popped and so I have to drop some cure bombs on people, in short order I'm down to 85 MP. I tell them as such in party chat, 88/1109, and no one bothers to think for a second, "Hmm, maybe I shouldn't WS this mob as soon as it's pulled, and totally obliterate any chance that both the tank will have hate and I will stay alive."

Fucking idiots sometimes. I will cure you when I have MP, but when I don't, don't fucking cry to me when you were too retarded to realize your uber damage does you no good face down in the dirt.

Reminds me of DDs that love to Warcry their WS even if it's right at the start of the fight. For fuck's sake, generating a Provoke's worth of hate for a 15% Attack boost with a 30 second duration is not worth the e-peen.

You'd think they'd at least pop it before getting on the mob's hate list, but no.

Nyzul can be such a pain in the ass if you get shitty floors. We once got 2 All Enemies, a family floor with soulflayers and a in-order lamp floor in the same 5 floor climb. However, imo worse than that is getting Capricious Cassie on any All Enemies floor. I hate that Morbol.

I mute my sound all the time, using options within the game. You can actually mute/change volume levels for the sound effects and music seperately. Which is nice when you need to hear certain sound effects or when you want to hear some good music. I believe the option is under the second main menu > Config > Gameplay. Unfortunately I am going off of memory, so I'm not 100% sure.

Edit: I just realized muting Sound Effects may not actually mute Calls. If it doesn't, my mistake.

Well those are the sound levels. In certain zones (The ones with out music) I want to turn of the music instantly with out having to go into the menue and lower the voloume for like 5 seconds so I can turn on my music with out having to listen to the battle music if I get into a fight.

But I was hoping that they had a check box with mute for volume and sound effects. That was the kind that I was talking about. But yea, there is nothing to lower the sound for calls. I hate those things lol.

I find encountering Dahaks to be a lot like seeing Miley Cyrus, after walking around the mall before during my break.

Dahaks jump and sing, and every time they do, they make everybody around them miserable. Worse, they are completely unavoidable. They are invading our television screens, our web site ads, our magazines, our shopping malls, and even our Nyzul Isles. And just when you've forgotten all about them, they rear their ugly head, brandishing each and every one of their teeth and they never let you forget it.

                      NA parties and player attitudes.

Lv.40 sync'ed party. The first one to get a "connection lost" and not came back was the borderline leaching WAR with an underwhelming 40% accuracy. The second one to leave party via "connection lost" was the lowest damage output of the three SAMs in part-- right after arguing with the NIN over whether some supposedly-well-known-endgame-player was actually the original person or not and whether the NIN was lying about having a k-club or not. (What...ever...)

While I appreciate the self-recognition that they sucked in either performance and/or personality, and do not deserve slots in the party, a little more warning may have allowed the leader keep the party running smoother, instead of wasting other people's time with a 3 hour 35 minute party that did only 1 hour and 43 minute of fighting. Or just... not put up the seek flag.

Losing four people--two with no warning what-so-ever--in 33 fights is just too disruptive. I'm averaging 1.3 people per NA party added to my "Do NOT want" list this week due to shenanigans like that. This party didn't stabilize until the leader somehow conned two JP RNGs to join and sync'ed to Lv.42.

The night before? Was in the same Cralwer's Nest in a 2 hour, Lv.42 party with five JP players. Left Jeuno together, and disbanded completely when one person had to go (me...sadly). Took two breaks for people to grab snacks and WC, otherwise non-stop killing-pulling. Less total time, better exp, and much happier people, myself included. (They even laughed at a lame joke I made!) No one did a "connection lost" and not come back after leveling or something, that's for sure.

I'd rather have 'do not kill' than 'do not aggro'. Also, you can't forget about the wonders of lamps floors with true-sight mobs (not just a gear here and there, I'm thinking imps and flayers).

OK, here's my pet peeve (well, at least one of them):

It bugs the hell out of me when I'm trying to solo with FOV in a low-level areas like Pashhow and there's a half dozen level 75's farming the hell out of the area. There are many areas that are alot more profitable for a 75 to farm at, but some people are simply too lazy to figure out where they are, and they just keep farming where they did when they were level 45. So instead of making 100k+ per hour, they lazily choose to make only 20k per hour while making it damn near impossible for people to level their low jobs.

I saw a similar situation when I had jobs in the starter areas, because there were always several high level people who seemed to think that the only profitable thing to farm are beehive chips and silk.

Perhaps I'm a little more sensative to this than most people, since I solo'd almost every job to 25+, but to me it seems that common courtesy is becoming a Rare/Ex item in Vanadiel.

There are always people like that in FFXI (As well in Real Life and other MMORPGs). Theres no way to stop them from doing that other than just asking them to change areas.

I had a party in teh dunes trying to help my linkshell members level up a few levels so they can go to Qufim or to get their support job. There where atleast 15 (I know like 5 of them where dancers, 2 where Drks, and 1 was a rng) Soloing on the lizards. So as I'm trying to pull (On my thf with Blind bolts) I was unable to even obtain a lizard for my party to kill. I had to Provoke to pull, and it even got me killed a few times.

The same happened when we eventually got tired of trying to get lizards (And me getting killed like 10 or more times) when we moved to the Crabs and increased our level sync level. There where less people how ever. But there where atleast three people who kept getting goblin aggro and running to our party before dying trying to kill us. (Goblin Leechers, and the Blm where the main ones they kept trying to kill us with.)

All in all. we got a total of 5k Exp in about 7 hours? Normally i can get about 3.5k exp/hour in the dunes with the right set up.

Also... Current Pet peeve in FFXI...

Why are there so many soloers suddenly trying to take over party areas, and killing al the mobs preventing parties from gaining any signifigant amount of exp?

If I'm going to go to a lowbie zone to farm, I always check the area first and I'm usually in a part where nobody can see me at. If I see people coming in that are trying to level near where i'm at, I'll leave and come back later, or usually just take my farmed items and go craft.

King Ranperre's Tomb is usually pretty empty, but me and a friend decided to run through there leveling our RNGs one day last week. I hit widescan right before we got to where the worms camp at, and saw where they were hiding at. After a few mins when we had gotten closer, I hit widescan again and there were no worms to be found. Walked to the room where they spawn at and there was a 60+ RNG in there Full AF farming worms lol. So of course we're like WTF. My friend told him "We are fellow RNGs trying to level up to be like you XD." the RNG apologized and left the zone so we could level right there lol.

FOV most likely. I've noticed alot of Dancers and /Dancers out soloing in the dunes that are 22+. I believe I've even seen some peeps in there that are close to 30 killing mobs for FoV.
