Im a 63 blu with every spell up to level 62 I know all about spell hunting. My peeve was a guide saying you can learn it at 61 when you really cannot, said the same thing with refueling, i went 0/45 on refueling at capped blue magic skill 48, and they reacon you can learn 10 levels lower, its either wrong or extremely unlikely. The best Ive ever done was 8 and I got that by accident when I wasnt looking for it lol.

New peeve ACP final fight. Loss. I already had all my stones becasue I went up solo for them . Saw a shout in WG an thought why not, ( I dont really need the reward yet because my sams already got a hauby and I've not decided what job to augment it for.) got a full party for the zerg method, MNK, SAM, SAM, RDM/DRK, BRD, WAR.

Had to help 2 members with there tower climb which involved killing every bat in the tower practically cause they didnt have snk. Then we finallly get up there and we get it to 5-10% an It does something disastrous and kills 4/6 ppl and charms me and the mnk with 200 hp left. No chance AOE AOE AOE dead.

And that leads me on to my second peeve, ignorant people. The 2nd sam in our party was a relic holder with all rare/ex gear etc. (funny how she died before I did lol seen as tho it was stunned the whole time till it got that big AOE off). Whenever you tried to talk to her she didnt respond. She when the 4 died she hp and left the party before wed even lost without a word.

What is it about being a game veteran with a relic weapons that makes allows you to be an ignorant ass.

Now I've got to go get the silly rocks again.

In case you haven't seen/read this, according to the wiki article:

The max skill difference to be able to learn a skill is 29 levels below the level of the Blue Magic you wish to learn (the blue magic level of the ability you wish to learn is equal to the blue magic skill cap at the ability's level). Below level 50, this means you can learn skills at a max of 9 levels out, assuming you have earned at least one level of skill since leveling. For example, Blitzstrahl is level 44, meaning its skill level is (44 +1) * 3 = 135. 29 levels below this is 106, which is attainable at level 35. This changes after level 50, when the increase in Blue Magic from level to level goes from +3 to +5, the level range at which you can learn spells decreases from 9 to 5. Therefore, you cannot learn Magic Fruit (58) at all until your Blue Magic is capped at level 53, you cannot learn Dimensional Death until it is capped at 55, etc. Frightful Roar may not be acquired in Phomiuna Aqueducts either, as the skill level between the cap of 40 and the cap of 50 is 30 levels. There may be a reduction of the learning % at a Blue Magic Skill difference of 21. (Verification Needed)

So no, it's not a flat 10-level difference. (I'm not convinced this formula is entirely correct, either, because I'm pretty sure I did learn some spells 10 levels out, and according to this, that shouldn't work.)

Ok so the newb that I was talking about in this post popped into the linkshell yesterday with this: "Hey, I got a friend that wants to play, and he needs a Registration Key...Could somebody give him one?" So we explain that they come with the game and that he or his friend would have to buy a copy to get one. (That and I gave my extra one away to somebody on this site. ) He got kinda huffy since he didn't want to go to the store to buy one or buy one online since he needed it "Right Now!" So he kinda huffed in and out of the linkshell for a bit, and then he hopped onto another linkshell. He then came back a few hours later and said "My friend got a registration code now." Then he continued "But now he needs a Content ID, can somebody give him one of those?" I then took my face and inserted it inside my palm and then started to repeatedly slap myself with the free hand. (Sidenote: Why was FFXI Vanadiel 2008 listed as 65 Bucks on Amazon yesterday )

After he got no answer, he then returned with even more nonsense. He had been whining about not having gil for the past few days and somehow got ahold of 5k. He then took the 5k to a casino that belongs to a linkshell mate who turned his 5k into 20k and then turned it into 0k. So once again he popped into the linkshell huffing "My gil..... ;_;" "I'm broke...." I even passed through WG and heard him saying it out loud in front of the casino. Felt kinda bad for him at first, but then the casino ls member told me that he warned him what could happen at the casino, but nooooo he decided to get greedy and lost it all.

Some all ... avatar runs are easy enough, for instance, and they're worth twice that. I tend not to blist easily, it usually takes directly offensive actions or comments, but this person might get me to make an exception in not too long...

Taking events for granted... this can be related to anything. I'll use my avatar runs as an example. So far both that I've been on have gone down this way. In differing parties.

I was only a pick-up player so in truth I really didn't know what to expect. Most were from the LS. Once we get a full party of several melee, a couple casters together, and the usual horribly under-leveled dude trying to get the avatar too early, we make our way to the BC location.

So we arrive and it's simply assumed by the fact we have a group of six that we'll win. When I start asking questions, I'm told "don't worry bout it, this ez". We enter. I see everyone sprinting pel-mel up the rocky pathway into the aggro area. No buffs are given. No plans laid out except that the gimp just needs to be "way over there".

Everything seems to be okay ... then the avatar AoE-2hrs, all the melee drop like flies cuz they didn't have any elemental protection. Suddenly our casters attempt to blast the last bit of HP off the mob while frantically asking the gimp if they have RR up and if they have the ability to RR. Somehow the surviving mage ends the fight with a blast and we got the clear.

...but I mean OMG... and that they didn't learn from the first fight... they did the same "tactic" for the next fight. Whooohooo... I got 10k/Avatar/gear... booohooo I lost like 2-3k exp unneccessarily.

This is merely one example... I see doomed CoP/BCNM/etc runs being spoken of all the time.

Las Vegas, a city built on losers, and he expected online gambling to be different? Sorry, but no sympathy. He took a risk that didn't work out, so take the consequences like a man.

Also, try the Blue Magic Hunting Grounds, so far I've found that it has been correct as to what level you can learn stuff at.

If you have to go from A to B you can always rely on having to go via Z to C first.

Running up Delkfutt's tower as a low level wasn't fun when I first did it in 2003, it wasn't fun when I did it subsequent times escorting friends up, and it sure as fuck isn't fun doing it now.

Timesinks =/= challenge.

Rainbow Gatherers as I used to call them. Everytime you see them they have on a different colored linkshell and pop in just to beg for help and then pop out. The real reason for the term "Rainbow Gatherers" came from a friend of mine that told me that he wanted to have a linkshell of each possible main color in the rainbow.

1: Healers, and Tanks (Tanks mainly) who go afk when you use the pull macro, or see you running back with a monster with you to the party.

2: People who ALWAYS make SMN main heal. They are DD and support! Not main heal!

3: People who get mad at a SCH for not having Cure II at level 11. -.-;

4: People who think they know it all because they have a level 75.

5: Annoying calls. Can't change the volume of them.

6: No mute button for the sound in FFXI.

7: THF that can not SATA even at level 60.

8: Everyone who thinks ninja is the ONLY subjob.

9: Blm, Blu, and Smn that don't heal anyone when the healer's mp is low, and there are people dying.

10: Blind invites.

11: People who spamm you with /tells asking you to power lvl them when you are running around on whm trying to raise a friend.

12: People who spamm /tells to you asking you to party in the dunes when you are level 40+

13: People who don't know how to play their role.

14: Pullers who can't pull something with out it linking.

15: Plds that sub something other than war while in the dunes.

16: People who think Ninja is the only job to tank, or is only a tank. Ninja is a good DD and great puller as well!

17: Healers who spam cure II even when you are in white HP.

18: Dncs that pull hate off the tank, then do animated flourish.

19: Dncs that try to tank by curing only, or try to take hate off the tank.

20: People who say you gear sucks even though its what you can afford, and its decent.

21: People who say your gear sucks because it isn't from a NM. (Like the O-Kotes. 0/110 No joke. >.<)

22: Thfs (Ones that have a subjob, and can obviosly afford this) that don't carry blind (For nin tanks), or acid bolts.

23: Thf/nins that get mad when you ask them to pull (When theres no bard) and use SATA. THATS WHY YOU ARE INVITED! -.-;

24: Smn that doesn't have any of the summons other than carby when they are over lvl 30.

25: People that get mad at you tell them that you cant/wont help them.

26: People that gat mad at you for helping them, then have to go afk/log off after about 2 hours.

27: People that invite only certain jobs to their parties when they are in the dunes and there are plenty of people seeking.

28: People that attack a NM that youve been camping for 3-5 hours, and they know youve been camping it.

29: People who ask for help, but refuse to help you when you need.

I think thats all... I guess I have tons of them lol. Server maint rant lol

Oh! and one more. How could have forgotten about this one...

RMTS and their stupid /tells!

I get at least seven a day for the same website, and its so f*cking annoying! Also... RMTS ruin the game play experience for legit players.

I didn't think about Assassin. But what I meant though was that they don't know how to sata even after 30 levels of having it. Not that they don't SATA
