But it also made Brothers harder to duo, and I'm guessing Sheep in Antillon's clothing, and of course soloing sky NMs.
Wait, all NMs? I mean, I can understand if they gimped Enfeebling against HNMs and such that have traditionally required HQ Elemental Staves, Elemental Seal, and a truckload of Accuracy/Skill gear to reliably land anyway, as S-E would at least be sending the message that they really don't want those guys Enfeebled, so you all should stop trying. But nerfing the duration of Enfeebling Magic, Red Mage's stand-in specialty (and one that I had grown fond of), against every single NM in the game?!?

This is even more of an outrage than almost every Augment in the game being a completely random generation, which was really only a (servere) disappointment to what was expected of it. Seriously, not cool, S-E.

EDIT: Could some Mod please fix the video?

RE-EDIT: Ah, well, TM, thanks for trying anyway, but I'd rather that stuff didn't break. >_> If anybody is still interested in the Big No video itself, here it is: [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3slnSih-WQ&feature=related"]YouTube - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/nomedia]

Answer seems to be no. The dash in the middle of the video id is probably making it fail the regular expression check. I could try to fix it but odds are I'd break something more in the process, so your jpeg will have to suffice.

I think something had to give with that update.

When you think about it, relying on certain enfeebs to hold mobs down does also prevent certain jobs from participating in various BCNM, ENM, etc fights. It is frustrating in some ways, but I also think its a push to get people to think about other ways to tackle a fight rather than (sleep them all/mow em down one-by-one or "kite this one while we kill that one".

Might also help the economy in some ways, as spaming certain BCs lowers the value of some crafting items.

As for HNMs, I think it was a respectable way to eliminate some of the competition. There have been plenty of instances where an LS will hold a mob when several other prepared LSes are sitting there ready for the fight and the LS that's claimed is not actually ready at all. Since SE repealed their stance on GMs monitoring LSes that hold mobs (understandable, there's lots else for GMs to be doing), this move somewhat removes the need for further monitoring.

Of course, there's still the lame-ass "let's CFH it and wait for people to gather" tactic, but I think that can just be resolved by making HNMs CFH-proof. Like anyone claims an HNM by accident.

Oh shit, I tagged King Behemoth. HELLLLLP!

              Current Known Issues (Apr. 22)

Since the implementation of the latest version update on Apr. 22, 2009, we have confirmed the following issues. Investigation and recovery work is currently underway. We ask for your patience in this issue until the issues have been resolved.

More information will be provided once is becomes available.

              [Current Known Issues]
              - The elemental resistance of some monsters may not be working as normal.

              - In spite of the Charge number, the Corsair job ability "Quick Draw," there are times when it might be able to be used consecutively.

              [Corrected Issues]
Additionally, the following issues from the Apr. 9, 2009 version update have been corrected, but were not mentioned in the version update information.

              - An issue that may have caused monsters in a specific area in the Campaign ops "Slaughterhouse I - III" to not remove the bomb has been corrected.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
There's a bare possibility that this resistance thing is a mistake.

The fact that, as far as I can tell, there's no different between skilling up a weapon if it's one-hand or two-hand.

You'd think the higher delay would account for more skill ups, but it seems to me catching up with my Great Axe is gonna set me back a whole 2 weeks compared to my dual-wield Axes.

Screw you and your twisted ways, SE.

Also... the AH is out to get me. That is all.

We need our resident photoshop masters to put in a spilled bowl of dip and chips or something into that pic/vid that Yellow Mage posted.

And I do agree with 'kitten here, but my major concern is mostly with how this affects exp parties, and to a lesser extent some battles like say, Steamed Sprouts for instance, that just beg for a sleeper.

This is one that's been making me crazy. Seraph hasn't had an Elite Beret on the AH for more than five seconds (and always while I'm logged off) for quite a while. Damn it, I need one!

But this post was actually about:

People in your LS asking you for help, nay, practically begging you for help, and then when you warp home, change jobs (defaulting on a page you were working on as a result), re-gear, port out to the closest location, and choco out as fast as possibly possible, they then tell you that they found someone else and don't need you any more. They just forgot to tell you.

                      ...

New pet peeve, antivirus software going into an auto update even when I have that turned off, causing me to lag and die horribly right as I pull a pet monster to solo.

lol I know that feeling. About 6 months ago I wanted a Martial Bhuj and for some reason I couldn't get my hands on one. Around that time they were about 900k and in about 2 weeks I had saved up about 1.5 million ( I had a epic 2 weeks at the AH, Most gil I've ever had.) The problem was, Martial Bhuj sells as soon as it gets on the AH. In the amount of time that I wanted to buy one, there were 3 put on the AH and immediately bought either 1 hour before I logged on or 1 hour after I logged off. Eventually I gave up and spent my gil on a Warrior Headpiece (600k) and a Foolkiller (250k + about 300k of equipment.)

Well, I screwed up. The day that I got my token and my Mog Satchel was the day I was supposed to come back....But, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 came out yesterday and that was the same day I got my token. By the time I got the token working which took about 1 1/2 hours of my own stupidity it was about 7:00 so I got in a good 2 hours of playing Gundam and then dozed off to sleep at around 10:45 watching "24" reruns.

I don't particularly care for BSTs, and I've never partied with one that was worth their weight as a DD, but I pretty much constantly see BSTs wearing full AF all the time, which is problematic if you're actually doing something.

                            ...

As for RDM melee ... meh. Fun by myself, not worth it in a party. And honestly I don't care what you wear outside of a party. Go to town with your cute SH on RDM as long as you're not my party's healer, it's all good
I use a Pahluwan Khazagand and its placebo +critical hit.

Which leads me to my biggest pet peeve actually. Because you're right. Some people I know, they decided to form a party in Castle Oztroja [s] and one of them came BST. Actually, 2 did. One of them came in standard DD gear like Hauberk and Turban and Maneater, used Lifedrinker Lars, etc. The other...was in full AF and duel wielded a Rune Axe and a Barbaroi Axe. He does it in town too. And he wondered why he missed so many WSs compared to the other BST.

I can't get EXP parties on BST? Fine, I'll solo. I'll get more seals and gil drops that way anyway. I have, however demonstrated that I am more than capable than pulling my own weight, and bringing something unique to say Nyzul Isle, where my job is one of the safest pullers, all that and I still have the prereq DD gear and then some. My singular goal for climbing Nyzul was just to get Primal Rend to lend some legitimacy to my job. The times I demonstrate it though is when I join a climbing run to get tokens who, to be honest, would invite just anybody really. That's why it is just not fair that I get turned down from gear farming runs when they ask for a DD and I tell them I have BST.

I like to think I accept, with grace, that melee RDM will never be accepted in the party scene, and that by limiting myself to Campaign and FoV that I am limiting the EXP I get, which is why I consider any nerf to Campaign as not being fair to me at all. (I guess Campaign is lol because it is not a good substitute for an EXP party in terms of sheer numbers put out, but this is fun for me, and I still get to play with others in the process) Then I watch Campaign a bit and see all these RDMs in full AF and electrum rings with their level 50-something swords and it's little wonder that a RDM can't be trusted to take the role seriously. Not only are these mages the ones who show that RDM can't be taken seriously as a frontline anywhere and everywhere, but they also tend to be the auto-attacking fiends who don't heal others.

That's my biggest pet peeve in this whole game. People who take what I like to do on jobs and make a mockery of them by doing so badly on them...

I was so sure Retrace was 45, but it turns out I need to get lvl55 instead. So I'll have to look for a way to get more xp if I want to get it done soon enough, since Retrace is the only reason for me to lvl blm at this time.

Ditto. Or the more annoying version: vice versa. When someone offers to help you with something and, after waiting and getting geared up for it... either don't show or send a tell to say they're doing something else

Anyways, I have that gear because I'm poor and at level 63, I suppose. That, and unlike what you listed, I actually spend more than half the time healing anyways. That said though... what would you suggest for better gear for melee for someone who's not level 75? Or would mostly AF work well for level 63?
