WHINY BARDS

WTF is up with them? Seriously? If you hate the fuckin job so much, why are you playing it? Hell, why did you level it in the first place? And why is it so damn well equipped?

My pt was short of a bard because the one we had needed to leave. So I'm searching thru and I see a bard with their flag up and in their seacom the following: "{Level Sync} {anything} 30+ {Yes, please}" So im thinking cool, a high level brd dont mind syncing down. So since the pt gonna keep going, I also rep another person who had to leave. Well, we all get together and start killing crabs in kuftal, and for some reason, neither the RDM nor the BRD are dispelling the crabs. I bring this up to them, and the RDM apologizes, his got distracted for a bit. Fine, I can live with that, then I ask the BRD why she couldnt dispel and she says the following "I'm really just not paying attention either. I dont care much to dispel them anyways, theyre just gonna throw the buff up again." WTF?? SERIOUSLY? WTF??

Yeah, needless to say we booted the bard (not like it makes much difference, they get invites up the yazoo) but duly noted Ill never invite her to a pt, and ill start being more selective when it comes to getting brds as well.

P.S. This applies to RDMs as well who bitch when asked to come RDM to events.

People will level BRD and RDM purely to get merits without really caring if they actually like the job or not. Honestly the influx of people just levelling the job for the sake of merits has causes the quality of BRDs and RDMs to pretty much crash on my server. Then there are the drama queens like you described above.

It's at the point where I won't merit with a pickup BRD unless I've actually partied with them before (and thus know if they care enough about the job to be good at it and not be a drama queen) and the average pick up RDM tends to refuse to cooperate with a WHM healer (which again is why I only invite RDMs that I actually know). Honestly getting every regen cured over and every haste cast over and the PLD not getting a refresh wastes so much of my MP I might as well just AFK and leech especially if we're fighting lolibri.

I never even bother meriting on WHM. I get random invites on WHM all the fucking time. 99% of the time I'm already in a party at a LINKSHELL EVENT. (Seriously, stop asking me to xp when you search me, my name is blue, and I'm in Temenos.)

Not only that, but I already know if you are asking me to merit on WHM, the party will fail. No one gets WHMs to merit on Hades. Not unless it's like a linkshell grouping or something, otherwise, no one gets WHMs to merit. If you get an invite on WHM on Hades, it means all the RDMs said no or are already partying, and the leader is settling for a WHM. And if you're settling for a WHM, you're gonna be also (typically) settling for less than stellar DDs. And the party will fail. GTFO with your 5k/hr merits.

Do you know I actually got invite to a party once, by a 74 PLD, and he said he was planning to get a PUP and a SMN? PUP + SMN + PLD + WHM =/= MERITZ. It equals HEADACHES AND PAIN.

I don't even try to attempt to merit on WHM. I'm guessing you have better luck with merit parties on your server, but on Hades, they almost always suck (sad to say) and I just refuse to settle for meriting in less than stellar conditions. I merit only with people I know, or in SMN burn. Because in SMN burn, I can get 15 merits in three hours.

Actually was kinda funny though, I did get an invite once on WHM from a level 19 who wanted me to heal their party. I was busy, or I might have gone, but I would have probably gotten frustrate at how little I could actually do at that level. At least they didn't ask me to PL.

WHICH REMINDS ME: If I'm in Qufim on WHM, THE ONLY REASON I'M THERE IS DYNAMIS. EVER. I AM NOT A FUCKING PL, STOP FUCKING ASKING ME. I've started putting search comments, telling people instant /blist if they ask for a PL.

Ugh, that's enough rant for one day I think.

Ya I usually campaign on my whm when I'm busy at my desk. I don't have to pay as much attention as I do in a pt but the exp I get is abysmally low.

Well WHM is my only Lv75 job. The second highest jobs are SMN38, SCH, BLM and RNG at 37 and COR at 36 so it's not as if I have any real choice with merit options.

And I wouldn't mind 5k/hour. Campaign is always painfully slow if you want to get anothing not a Group 2 merit or unmerited ability .

Honestly? Merit parties don't happen on Kujata. People just go to Qufim an the Dunes and maybe the jungles and merit there and I'd rather level MNK than take WHM there. Then there "merit parties" that sync down and fight nothing but lolibri. I'd rather level NIN with no shihei than exp on birds on WHM.

It's a huge pain with other jobs since I want to level BLM and COR but I can only get crappy low level level syncs and be gimped in my skills if I take them. Well BLM is a pain in the rear to solo at 37 since the solo camps suck and COR, well a 36COR isn't going to get far solo. It's lucky that i want to try out PLD. I might actually get invites for my level if I level a tank job.

I do get /tells for PLs but it's usually from my own LS. They get the usual "Only if you help me camp my Pirate Clubs" answer. Don't ge me wrong, if you're a friend I'm passing through the area I'll toss out a cure or two or give your tank a haste but I'm not wasting my time teaching six people how to be gimp when I can be spending my time making some gil or bashing stuff in campaign.

Nothing like competing for a single NQ mob over 8 people, only 2 of which even have RDM leveled, because S-E felt only WHM should have the option to buy their new spells via vendor.


This is fucking retarded, they could at least make them drop from mobs that have more than 2 spawns in the entire goddamn zone.

These fucking idiots are just here trying to make a quick buck, but they didn't even bring a form of TH, so they're doing nothing but wasting pops that I could have actually gotten my damn spell off of.

I'm just kind of annoyed in general. I feel completely overwhelmed by how just when I think I'm on top of everything RDM needs, something else comes down the pipe, and I find that I have other stuff I have to level and/or farm for. :/

Honestly I'd put it off a week or so, the drop rates aren't terrible, and they're more of a shiny than a necessity(Composure is the real treat). Let traffic die down a bit, they're an easy farm when you don't have retards trying to milk 100k out of selling them on the first day.

And the big plus is Composure is fantastic for farming, should make taking care of some of the other junk you need a bit less annoying.
