I freaking hate camping NMs, although I got Leaping Boots 1/1.

I was on my way to Dangruf to level up a little (or something like that) and I see this weird lizard in front of me.

"Pst pst. Do you want a new pair of boots?" it said. "Is Aka a weirdo?" I reply.

So the lizard gives me the boots and disappears before I could say "Hey, Thanks". It was until then that I felt all the angry stares around me. /shrug

That sort of reminds me of the time I spent camping the moldy earring. I was there maybe a few minutes, and it popped ... I managed to turn and claim it, too (several other people around). Unfortunately, no drop. I'd imagine they weren't too happy with me anyway.

Of course, I was there for the next pop window with a friend, and we had the place to ourselves. THAT time, it popped and I received the drop.

I just disbanded from a level sync party in Qufim that started out dubiously, went well enough in the middle (got me 1.5 levels at least), and ended with a catastrophic wipe, and me without reraise. Note to the party leader, a level 20, rank one WHM without a subjob (one of two subjobless WHMs in our party) who blind invited the ever-changing cast of party members this evening: do not cast Dia on a Land Worm when the puller, who announced his intentions in party chat several times, has already pulled a Clipper that the rest of us are already attacking, enfeebling, or curing the attacks of.

F'n PIRATES!!!! Approximately 16.?% appearance rate, huh?

....all I wanted was the damn Sand Charm for the map!!!! I was on that damn boat for I honestly don't know how many trips/hrs. They finally show once and Black Beard (approx 4.?% chance of appearing) sees me, aggros me, and nukes my arse into oblivion... A couple kindly fishermen tractor me up-deck... raise me. Oh wait. Blacky remembers me comes all the way up and kisses me back to sleep, then wipes the fishermen... I'm out almost 3.5k Xp and almost D-Lvl. I spend hours after that and I never see the Pirates again... Sea Horror actually pops, aggros me, I'm kickin its arse and what happens ? OH... we reach land. The frustration was merely compounded by the fact that I could fish up millions of Bastor Sardines (10gil cap at 10) and maybe a couple a Quus (23gil cap at 19) with my dreary fishing skills (9)... yet no skill ups.

Seriously.. when I was pre-Rank 5 and tiny in Lvl; every boat I was on seemed to be boarded by pirates.

Oh... and people in LS chat that have such a skewed view of what Dnc does or how to lvl or what gear to use that its impossible to catch up with all the ignorance to correct it via txt based conversation.

SE if you are going to make it so that entry item for a quest can only be obtained once every Full Moon during clear weather could you please for the love of Altana make it possible to obtain said item?

I have spend from 11:45 to 17:00 camping th bloody pool in Ro'meave for my DM entry item and lo and behold not once did the weather clear up during that five bloody hours I spent sitting there camping.

Seriously SE, sitting there for 18 hours fighting PW is not okay but sitting there for 5 hours literally doing nothing at all except maybe kill the odd statue is okay?

I was soloing crawlers in Buburimu in that area next to Mhaura, two gobbies decide to run after me at the same moment, and I run away. I don't expect to make it, so I have my menus open ready to click on Mijin Gakure. I'm about to go down, so I press The Button.

"You must specify a valid target for that ability."

WTF? Apparently you can only use it when in /attack mode. (Which makes sense in hindsight, because people actually attack something to do a D0, even with Mijin.) Being chased by two or three monsters attacking you isn't good enough. But what do I know, I've only really used the 2hr on WHM and THF so far (NIN didn't count because it wasn't intentional when it happened), so I'm not used to combat-onliy 2hr abilities.

And that brings up something that bugs me a lot. When they're chasing you, they can hit you from like half a mile away. But when you're chasing them, even with your nose up the butt, you're "too far away". Both for trying to get the first hit, and for trying to chase down the yo-yo hate monsters in Besieged.

More importantly, the people in Besieged/Campaign who drop whatever the biggest damage they can on the mob and then run it halfway across the fucking map need to be shot.

The other day in Meriphitaud_S, someone kited a mob way out southeast to under the bridge over the road. I could "hear" the thing fighting, but it took forever for me (and the rest of the zerg) to find it.

Argh, I hate that. I've got no problems if people pull a mob a little ways away from the fight to solo. Pull it halfway across the map though? I am so doing a /shout <t> at <pos>! once I find you.

Always seems to be the people who take forever to solo a mob too. Like some Kraken Club Rdm or some other job with a funky weapon combo that just can't dish out the damage that well.

I'm not willing to wait 15+ minutes for someone who joined late to solo a mob, or someone who took a mob out from the start and still haven't finished it after the rest of us have finished two waves.

I just helped two noobs do the Mhaura subjob quest. WHM20 and WHM26. I say noobs because after getting the items (3/3 on Bloody Robe drops at the beach when we only needed 2!), they immediately death-warped to Selbina to get a fucking skull. Fucking dunes brain damage.

Both were rank 1 Bastok, and at least one of them apparently didn't have the Dem crystal. The only one I got to see had a linkshell icon, too.

EDIT: they never dropped me from party, and they've just gone into Gusgen Mines. {/sigh}

I was loggin out the other day and just happened to want to look at the list of people in my social LS since it has gotten amazingly large very quickly in the last couple of months. I saw someone (I had never seen them on list before) War 34/___ out pt'n in the jungle... This is not so much a b!tch about the person... more about how the LS and their friends had not helped them get the subjob quest done. I was loggin out and haven't seen the poor soul since...

Maybe it was a vet... just trying to get a mule to 75 w/o a /sub ... idk ... I'd like to ask tho... just haven't been on since.

If it is newbly-ness, it also just amazes me that they did the more travel intensive Kazham Key's quest yet not the subjob quest... not that u need to do it to do Kazham Keys... just that it's a far more intensive quest imHo.

Are you sure they were going for the subjob quest and not unlocking Aht Urgan access?

If they had no sub I'd think it's safe to say they were trying to get subjobs.

We've been perpetuating the "no subjob after you should have had one" thing, with Summoner burns. We'll grab level 15 syncs and get them to 24 in like eight minutes, and sometimes they don't have subjob unlocked lol. Oops. If someone asked me to help them get SJ I probably would though, it's not like the drops are impossible to get.
