lolmelee that expect me to main heal with /WHM for a five-DD or four-dd-and-a-BLM party, with not a BRD in sight. Worse still, I spend all my MP keeping the non-voking all /NIN bastards alive(not to mention Silena'd, and the BLM Refreshed), and they have the nerve to bitch about not getting Haste.

Another thing that works my nerves is having to reset my search comment every time I log on. Our bazaar comments remain set, why not the search comments?

Yea, i meant, being able to get around better at a lower level. I have been playing for several months now and, because of always buying new stuff for all the jobs I've been leveling, still have yet to have 300k at one time >.< But I have my mog, mule, and inventory full of random armor, food, and items for different random jobs. I just wished SE would make thing easier on new ppl to the game so they can actually get stuff accomplished without spending hours of their time just going to the places to get the tasks accomplished.

Your search comment is more likely to change between playing sessions then your bazaar comment is. On top of that, you can macro your search comments.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

Yes, I'd only recently found out you can macro search comment stuff. I wish I had known about this 2 years ago.

For those unaware of this feature, it's the /seacom and /seacomup commands. I believe you can find out more info on them by typing "/seacom ?" and "/seacomup ?".

You can either save a macro slot or two for each macro palette, or just save an entire macro palette to hold the different search comments you're likely to put up.

Well, 2 years ago it didn't exist. It was added in a patch only a few months ago I think.

Regardless, I don't find the macro-search-comments particularly useful; I need to rewrite it to include my TNL and other info that changes from session to session anyway. I guess if I merited all the time then TNL wouldn't matter, but merit is soooo boring... I want to fight monsters that fight back, but the super exp from slaughtering helpless puks is so high nobody will do anything else.

I guess I would have to say that's my pet peeve with FFXI right now: the exp system breaks down at merit levels and monsters that present no real threat at all are giving VT experience and *much* higher exp/hr than monsters that put up a fight (because if the monster fights back you might actually need a tank and a healer and then you don't have 5 DDs anymore! Oh noes!)

the /seacom macro ability has been in there for a long time. maybe it was added with CoP or something. I've been using it for over a year at least.

Yeah, it's more than a year old at least.

                So, back to pet peeves.

Is it unreasonable of me to ask one of the melee in my party to stop spamming [Dispel] in the chat log when the mob buffs up and I don't dispel it right that second? The first time he did it I was mid-convert. I got to the dispel right after, but he had already gotten on my nerves a bit. The second time was while I was sleeping the link that he brought to camp. The first mob buffed, and he starts spamming dispel. I said "Hey, guy. Could you not do that? If I miss it, it's because I'm doing something else. I'll get to it."

Apparently I was out of line. It started this big tirade about how I need to loosen up, and it's just a game, and blah blah blah, I want to kill myself. Or him. Or just log off. Anyway.

I mean, I'm on top of things. I haste who I need to haste, refresh who I need to refresh, buff, debuff, enfeeble, all that jazz. But I can only cast one spell at a time. And as much as I suppose I appreciate the sentiment involved in letting me know what I need to do next, I really don't need the assistance, so please stop spamming the chat log with it. Thanks.

I totally know what you mean there. Espically in whm + brd + warx4 tp burn pties -.- almost all the ptys want me to haste and keep them alive while they'll DD/semi tank in haubys, yea >>; I only haste if i have the mp to or if i have a rdm that'll cover healing while I'm hasting DD. As for my rdm lving, it gets annoying like you said about getting spammed Haste, Refresh, Dispel when you're mid casting. espically if you cast the buff on the spammer the moment before they say something.

Players that refuse to party anywhere but Aht Urghan.

I ended up disbanding my group in VoS tonight after only 2 hours, because after our Paladin had to log, the other tanks I asked said they would only PT in the new areas.

I'm not a fan of people that consider me unreasonable because I expect a certain amount of skill or professionalism from my fellow party members, especially in the later stages of the game.

I don't want to party with people who can't manage to keep their subs up to date. At level 65ish, that shouldn't be a problem. I don't want to party with people who don't know what jobs are appropriate for a party to function well. And I don't want to party with people who are so focused on leveling that they don't care what gear they have or whether or not they have all of the necessary spells.

Yesterday I got a party invite in the tree. I joined, paid the HQ taru to warp me to Sandy, OP warped to Zi'Tah, and then hoofed it into Boyahda Tree. I got all the way to camp, and then the leader announced that they were disbanding in 15, so only three or four more fights were going to happen. And when I said I wasn't interested in sticking around for 3-4 fights, I was treated as the unreasonable one.

Today I got a party invite from a NIN. He was getting the party together, and announced that we were going to fight Colibri, and that he had a WHM on the way. Well, I'm pretty damn useless in a Colibri party as it is, and if there is a WHM around, I'm even more useless. Also, this WHM only had a 22 BLM and a 30 SMN sub to offer. At 65. So I told the leader that I appreciated the invite, but I wasn't interested in partying with someone who wouldn't bother to level his subs appropriately, and once again I was the asshole. The NIN and the WHM both kept sending me tells about how I was a terrible person.

                      Whatever.

Yes, maybe if we all ignore RMT it will go away all by itself.

Ya, wow, you're doing so much saying the exact same thing hundreds of others have said before you.

Wow. I can see RMT is going to stop because of your comments now.

Hmmm been lurking a while, finally registered here... Anyway, my pet peeve is not so much the random examines but the requests for gil/items!

Just last night, I leave my moghouse to go check my new chick (egg from first bird) and get examined by a couple people (not an issue) but the first person who checked me seemed to think I had ATM stamped on me rather than WHM because he asked me to buy him a teleport scroll! I said sorry but I quested all mine, you could do the same. and went about my business...

I am a level 61 WHM but that doesn't not necessarily translate to mean I have alot of gil!
