Found my new pet peeve: People who take your name and steal it

I met this guy in Yhoator and during our PT he comments on how cool my name is (naturally I was flattered).

Anyway a few days later I'm walking through Southern Sandy and as I'm checking the AH I see the words "Ryoukan is examining you"

I find out that the guy in Yhoator started a new character and used my name, I was flattered but having a guy with a name 1 letter different from yours could get pretty troublesome, especially when it comes to rep in game.

I liked my name because it was original, I didn't take the name from any anime/movie/book/video game, its just a japanese word that means "dog/hound".

Now I feel like my name isn't special anymore j/k

I love the whole tp-burn thing actually. It gives all of us rejected melees a chance at great xp.

Yet at the same time, it rejects another group of players. Some might say it serves them right for making the original "burn" parties, but there's got to be some way to balance things out. I don't want my Black mage pals to suffer any more than they already do.

They arn't suffering. There are pleanty of Melee to go around.

And since most melee burn pt's substitue a tank for a melee/nin there wont be a shortage of tanks either.

It's not that hard to just /sea all 75 inv. A lot of melee will show up regardless.

Yes. Plenty of Melee that will lol heartily at the idea of partying with a black mage when they can just join a TP burn party. Without a solid tank aggro bounces around and will end up with a very dead Black mage...Unless they sub nin too? Hahaha, oh wow. I can't wait for that.

You don't quite understand.

Due to the update, the gap between melee and mages has grown even more. The entire game is centralized on groups and variety: endgame requires groups of many jobs, experience parties require people to work together to level up.

I acknowledge the fact that manaburns are great, tp burns must be great too. However, I would like there to be someway to balance the game, so that the first thing on my mind isn't "manaburn" and the first thing on any melee's mind (and trust me, 3/4s of the jobs are melee) isn't "tp-burn". Ultimately, it's not good for the game.

Im regaurds to TP burns, a pet peeve i have from it is just ppl think new areas are the only places to go to, mainly.... Caedare Mire -.-;;;;;;
Personally, for mages, how about an update that'll encourage them to melee in some fights too, espically with Hexa on hand :x

As a Red Mage, I would love to melee in parties, and if it weren't for the fact that I am constantly swapping staves, I probably still would be. I meleed up until 51 and had to quit because realistically meleeing with ten different weapons is a huge pain in the ass, so why bother.

Sure, I could keep my sword on me all the time and just cast my spells with that equipment, but then I'm gimped, you know?

For now, I put up with just meleeling in Besieged, when no one really gives a rat's ass what you do as long as we win.

Really be nice for some updates that'll like enhance magic accuracy/potentcy while a mage is actively gaining TP in a fight :x
Beniffits both rdm's who wanna melee and do their enfeebles/heal and whms who wanna Hexa while healing :3

Red Mages should also get a natural staff ability, that's something I should have added to my last post. We need to use those staves for our enfeebles/cures/etc, but without regular skillups while using them (as Red Mage, at least) there is no use for them. My staff skill is terribly underleveled because I don't have another job high enough to skill it up, and Red Mage can't get skillups with it.

So yeah, I agree with what you have to say Akashimo, but for that to be viable for RDMs, we need to have staff ability.

How about making parties with japanese members then missing a member or too. Sometimes a LS member would tell me they are coming and I would tell this to the JP members.

I always have a hard time though when I have to tell them the person (for whatever reason) is not coming. I feel really bad for themo.O

I never have this problem with english players though, it must be the language barrier...

Not so much a peeve I guess
