I'm just in a bit of a bad way with my "newer" LS, it started out fine but it seems like they're about to go the way of my old one, and I'm disillusioned and angered by some of the things that have been going on. To tell about it all would write a mountain of a post, but basically I'm just tired of people starting out to treat you one way and then changing ther tune.

Been hovering around the 10k gil line for a while now and so I'm feeling pretty jaded in the income area, especially consdiering I'm regularly surrounded by high level to endgame players who can pretty much print thier own gil from crafting. A number of grievences:

Undercutters causing total losses on so called profitable crafts. On Cooking 43 and whoever says that cooking is cheap and profitable is a very bad liar. Honestly it's a sad hint at the game economy where synthing Bug Broth and selling it to NPCs is far, far, far, far, far more profitable then stimulating the economy but buying and selling player crafted products.

Same thing for fishing. It's hard to sell even nebs right now because there is simply no bait in the guild or AHs to buy them. And I'm not risking a shrimp lure because Noble Ladies ate my last 4.

Solo play in general because I personally find it boring. If I wanted to play Final Fantasy by myself I'd play any of the other 11 games in the main series. That makes farming very, VERY boring to me and I can rarely keep focus on it for more than an hour at a time. It is more fun when i deliberately target an EP because it's challenging but the time it takes for a 58WHM to solo any EP mob that isn't undead tends to make things counter productive. Any advice on making farming more fun and/or interesting other than the typical "Level Thief" could be greatly appreciated.

Nobody in the LS having a job at Lv18 so I have to solo summoner and also the gilsink that is obtaining avatars and Spirit Scrolls. Sure it's just bad luck that nobody in my LS has anything at that level but it's still frustrating.

Bots in Whitegate that steal teleports the second someone shouts. On Kujata try shouting for a tele at Whitegate at any time after 6pm GMT. You are guaranteed to get an invite literally half a second after shouting. No way can the command be typed out and the invite pop up on my screen in less than a second. The servers are in japan. Latency says that it should at least take half a second for the data to get to me nevermind someone typing out the entire invite command.

Having to compete with an LS member or worse a friend for teleports in Jeuno purely because I feel guilty about stealing business from a friend.

Oh and having to explain to an angry Japanese player who is late for Dynamis that you can't solo the Tele-Vazhl quest so you don't have the spell is always frustrating for both myself and the player who has to find another WHM.

Endgame players and/or people who have been playing the game for years bragging about how many millions they can make in a month. It's nice being able to farm what you want when you want and print money with "X big haul craft". The bottom line is that every craft requires a huge investment in time and an even larger investment in gil and well for a person who is still trying to get a job to 75 I don't have huge amounts of either.

People who are rich enough to be able to leave their bazaar open overnight and still afford their electricity bill. It's not a pet peeve but I am pretty damn jealous of people who can afford to do this given today's ridiculous energy prices.

cant argue about undercutting since your gil comes straight from the computer lol
in todays ffxi economy its actually pretty good gil/hour spent farming

Blms who don't do support cures, or stun the mob when the bloody nin is literally at 5hp and my mp is at 10.

Actually it's kinda annoying on WHM if I get yelled at for using Flash when the NIN's shadows are down. I thought the whole idea of WHM getting Flash (and Repose I guess) was to bail out the tank in such circumstances. Heck I always Flash when a blink tank's shadows go down otherwise they just turn into an expensive MP sponge while they try to recast.

I think the people who freak out about the WHM taking hate for a short moment really don't understand why WHMs have Stoneskin, Blink, Aquaviel, Reraise and can equip some kite shields and Earth Staves so I just give them the benefit of the doubt. WHM needs that stuff because there are times when you HAVE to cure bomb and pull hate or risk losing the tank and potentially the rest of the party. I don't know about anyone else but I would much rather go down and reraise and have a smaller MP pool for a few minutes than let the tank die and risk the party wiping because hate is everywhere. Especially if the party is fighting stuff that hits you like a ton of bricks and you NEED a PLD or NIN to tank them because they are the only ones who can reduce the damage into something less absurd. I'm looking at you Puks and Spiders.

Smn at least I can give stoneskin to the tank which does make a difference and no enmity towards me, though I end up having to cure bomb like crazy >_>.
But that entire pty made me remember why I soloed the last 12 levels. Parties suck as smn.

This is one of my all time pet peeves, blms that don't cure. I can't tell you how many times I've been resting with little to no mp to watch the tank or anyone in the pt/ally go down and a blm just standing there with nearly full mp. Then who gets the evil eye or yelled at? The person wth no mp. I usually say something like "Omg, I'm so sorry <insertnamehere>! If SE would give blms a spell that works like Devotion but with sharing mpz, I could have healed you.

Last night I was this "||" close to booting this idiot RDM out of my party.

It was my first time in Kuftal Tunnel, and the lizards hovering around our crab camp reminded me of mandragoras in Yhoator. ...Though I'd be dumbfounded to see an RDM miscast on a nearby lizard at level twenty-five..let alone FIFTY-ONE.


Camp was set near Altepa exit, for easy zoning. Lizards were crawling around us while we pounded down crabs.



First miscast: Fine. Things happen. The party just started. RDM died by her own mistake.

Second miscast: Umm...ARE WE USING THE MOUSE? Tab. It's that button that looks like it has two-way traffic printed on it >.> Massive lizard aggro. Tank died right before zone. Same with RDM...again.

Third: Yay! I would've started curing the RDM because their casts were being interrupted but...I'm afraid I don't have IQ buffs as a WHM. She died. I died. I bit my lip and moved on. -.-




Can anyone justify that many miscasts? Within a fifteen minute timespan?

And that is why people should never Cast under the influence.

It has caused too many unnecesary deaths in the past and sadly will continue to do so until authorities (meaning SE) can screen players for substance levelsâ„¢

That damn macro delay on PC. If SE isn't going to upgrade the client to DX9 the least they can do is fix that damn delay when pressing ALT or CTRL so you didn't have to wait so much for the macro pallet to show up (because the macro wont work unless you press the number until the macro pallet appears.)

I'm getting sick and tired of wrestling with macros, I usually deal with it well enough, but having unresponsive macros while soloing really messes things up. At least I won the Dragon fight in La Vaule, but man that was annoying as hell.
