This is probably my biggest pet peeve of the game:

Goldiggers (or is that Gildiggers)? I honestly hate them more than the RMT.

Male or female, they thrive on attention and will draw in as many friends and they can. They might help those friends, but not to the extent the take and benefit from those friends and then one day they endgame apeshit on you or just never speak to you again.

And convienently they make a whole new circle of friends, from which they start the cycle of destruction over. Personally, I don't know which is worse, though, that they exist or that I'm often the one that gets my enjoyment for the game ruined by them.

I am currently not a fan of people who I have helped out financially in the past (with all of my Vanadielian wealth, actually) who are unwilling to help me run a few BCNMs now that I'm in a financial pinch. But whatever.

Do people actually DO that? Everytime someone from our LS helps us out I always try to pay it forward, helping out someone else (and I love to toss out the random CureII/Protect/Shell when I see someone in need) I understand once we get a few more jobs under our belts that we will be expected to help out the newer lower level folks, and I've no prob's with that, they helped me - but! - are some people really like that???

Well, Kittyneko caught it. I wasn't actually so much talking about gil as I was progression in other areas of the game. But yeah, big reason Selphiie doesn't hang around here now is she thought it would be a great idea to replace me with a new boyfriend right in front of my face just a couple weeks after I got her Sea access (amoung other things, such as giving her tons of emotional support). She also knew I wouldn't take to that idea kindly, but tried the "You need your space/Let's just be friends" bit anyway to see if I would fall for it.

I didn't, and I pressed for a reason to see what bullshit she would come up with. I knew all about the guy and I'd say his chances of her scamming him into getting her a Temperance Axe are greater than getting a real life meeting with her. Oh, she's a girl, I've had it confirmed, but she dodged every chance at a real-life meeting, which tells me she has something to hide about who she is.

I've ranted about this enough, though, the details I ranted into the ground on my journal. Good riddance to airheaded rubbish like her. I left a note for the new sucker in his email, I'm not mad at him, just looking out for him and his friends now - I don't want thier shell ruined because of her.

There are all types of dopes people in game. We've got(had? I haven't seen him in a couple of days...) a guy in our shell that:

1. Begs people in the shell to farm with him while he collects all the loot via quartermaster.
2. Begs you and others for money and gets indignant when you don't comply.
3. Changes shells and gives you "instructions" to give him a /tell when more people log on and arrive in the shell so that he can bother them for his own ends.
4. Hops on the shell and then back off when he's ignored for asking quite directly if someone (read anyone) will come and PL his "x" job.
5. Asks for your help in a zone doing something only to leave after meager attempts to accomplish the thing that he asked for help with and you foolishly traveled for 30min to get to.....
6. Tells you how to play your job, chides you when something not planned happens to you while making excuses about nearly the same thing for him/herself.
7. Begs you for your gear that is needed for his/her job and chides you for your gear that you'd like to upgrade while making excuses about his/her own gear, which is sub par because people won't do the things listed in 1 and 2.

/sigh

It takes all kinds.

I'd post a peeve of my own, but I just beat ToAU mission 44 last night. Mind went blank. The world is wonderful. I love everything.

My only complaint now is that I don't have anything to complain about. ._. Guess I'll have have to make something up. Umm... I get /check'ed a lot. OK, that doesn't bother me; my Mithra is beautiful, and the /check's just confirm that.

Have to think of something later.

And what do you mean lazy? I was very industrious, considering that when I was playing on Kujata I hadn't a penny to my name. I can practically re-gear my RDM now, though I've got 600 Beastmen's Seals just sitting in my Mog Safe taunting me.

Mauva - Yes, people actually do that. Last year I gave several million in gil and gear to a friend who had their account hacked, and who was hurting for items. I was playing another game at the time, and was happy to help. A month ago I asked this person if they would mind helping me do a few BCNM runs. They agreed, but any attempts to contact them since, either in or out of game has been met with silence. But they are still posting and still playing, so I guess I they regret saying yes. Oh well.

Maybe I'll just shout for some people in Whitegate. Or waste my seals doing Treasures and Tribulations.

In the meantime, of course, I'm just leveling a bunch of things to 37. I have enough gil for that, and low-level gear can easily be passed around from job to job. It's not what I'd like to be doing ideally, but it's progress of a sort.

This is exactly like my husband! He had over 1000 BS's in his mog house! I taught him to do the Treasures and Tribulations BC and he got a couple astral rings (110kish) and a scorcerer's ring (1.2mil) out of 5 orbs. Thats not too damn bad Murph, you should try it. It's better than letting them sit in storage, no? (Of course, the scorcerer's ring went to me and now my husband gets the pleasure of watching me eat a WHOLE LOT of dirt! lol)

I pretty much refuse to do T&T, it doesn't seem like a worthwhile way to spend my seals when I can shoot for bigger things. If I just need a small amount of gil, I'd just rather farm for it than blow seals for the slight chance at getting a BLM ring to sell.

T&T isn't worth while even when the seals otherwise just sit in your mog house.

Did T&T one day when I was bored, picked the right chest and got nothing except the feeling I wasted 50 seals. There's not even any fun in winning the 'battle'.

Hence why I said "waste." I did do a bunch of T&T runs on Aelathir when I switched over to Murphie as my main, because Ael had about 400 seals and no jobs that were really useful for any BCNMs. I got two astrals and a fencer's ring, but mostly nothing. I've never felt quite so distinctly that I'd wasted my in-game resources as I did that time.

I'm so glad I took this friend's advice and spent $25 real life dollars returning to Bahamut. Now I can distinctly feel the waste of out of game resources as well!

I got an Astral from it once, but yeah, it wasn't really worth it because I've lost that BCNM more times than I've won it. At least if I manaburn UO with my friends I'm going to make at least 10k for my 40 seals.

Continued pet peeve: Undercutters. Again. TK was going for 80k for weeks, except for when I farm a pop item and get one to sell, then people decide it should be 70k. DIE IN A FIRE!

I wish I could teach patience in this game.
