I should stress that' it's my pet peeve which doesn't mean it applies to everyone, or that I'm even right. A pet peeve is an unjustified annoyance that you are personally unable to controll. I probably make half my crafting income off of buying bazaar items and selling them for profit or crafting them into sellable items. I have a mule in every city and that's their job to find those bargains from those that are desperate for space or the unfortunate few that don't know the value of the items they are selling. I bought 6 shall shells last week for 200 gil each. I buy ore in Sandy for 800 and sell it in Bastock for 2500, Now that is a part of the game I enjoy. I don't always like to run around and kill stuff, the financial part of the game has some appeal to me. The description of bazaar and intent of game designers is a place to sell items. It was not described as safe storage or a place to show off your accomplishments. If someone has an item for 300K that I don't want or can't afford, or 15 items that are over priced it doesnt bother me, at least the player is using the game mechanics as they were intended. Maybe a color coded bazaar would be interesting. The present symbol would mean these items are for sale. Maybe a yellow bazaar display would signify items for barter, trade, or negotiation. That would more accuarately identify the players intent. I would prefer that people put items in the bazaar that are actually for sale, but since I have an uncontrollable desire to check every bazaar to find the elusive bargains,( kind of like yard sales to some people) I'm probably not the average player.

Whats my pet peeve in FFXI? Well to put it simply in one word... noobs...

More specifically:

* People who constantly ask you to give them gil
* People who, when in a PT, cast lot on every single drop
* People who, even thought they just started playing FFXI, act like they know "everything"
* " " who, whenever given helpful advice, reply with "WellZ FU YoUz NoOB!"
* " " who constantly chat with shout, even when they are just having a regular conversation with someone
* " " who never learn the basics of their main job, resulting in a bad PT
* " " who never have their sub lvl at least half the lvl of their main job (i.e WHM/11, BLM/2)
* " " who will just abandon a PT without warning, even when they are in a middle of a fight
* And finally... People who use RMT to buy their gil

That basically sums it up

Here's another one:

People with a level 75 job who level other jobs as "something to do" but don't play those jobs with the respect of their REAL main.

Please, just go back to your real main and stop wasting our time. One or two or even four 75 jobs doesn't mean you should halfass another or take a PT invite when you know a HNM window is open in an hour. That's like the kid who takes an invite and then disbands when mommy calls him for dinner after we get to camp.

If you're not here to play for real, don't play, OK? This may be "just a game" but is also our time and people don't like their time wasted on childish behavior.

So I have a 60 DRG, did you happen to notice I've also pretty much retired that character?I'm active on BST with that one from time to time and working on a BLU sub, which happens to be renewing my interest in levelling DRG again as well.

But for years, more than anything, I just wanted a Gambler class in this game. COR is that job. In levelling subs for COR, I also developed an appreciation for RNG. DRG, BRD and RDM weren't even secondary series favorites. BRD and RDM I picked up to fill needs my LS or an LS static had, little else than that. Big mistake on my part because I got hosed both times.

When I play any job, I treat that job with respect, subjob or not. My BRD had all the elemental staves and HQ instruments needed to do the job properly. Same goes for RDM and DRG. Same for RNG and COR now.

My time to play is short each evening, should a limp along on the second fiddle jobs or play my passion? I think the answer is obvious. Not to mention the fact that two jobs burn gil with no returns.

Next time you gleefully post flamebait, have a real point of reference. Claims of hypocrisy are often made by people who can't form a real argument.

Before I say anything, no flamebait intended. Just didn't seem right to me to accuse of hating others for something that you did for you main character that obtained level 75 and rank 10. I'm going to assume that the majority of time that was spent on FFXI was with this character, and I think by now you should have a pretty good idea of what and what you don't like.

Please, just go back to your real main and stop wasting our time. It just doesn't seem to me that your argument is very strong. I can level my black mage up to 75, my whm up to 37. What next? I can level war, just for the sake of leveling it, and buy myself the appropriate gear and learn how to play that job appropriately. Is it my fault I don't feel obliged to participate in an HNM event? Is it so wrong that we have a choice to play what job we want to play? Is it wrong that SE allows us to change our jobs to anything at anytime?

So, you actively state that this character is semi-retired. This implies that you don't really want to have anything to do with that character, yet you support the "semi-retired" RDM and DRG, which have nothing at all to do with your main job. Apparently, if your gear is excellant for all the jobs you played, you respect those jobs, which takes precidence over what everyone else thinks.

Next time you gleefully post flamebait, have a real point of reference. Claims of hypocrisy are often made by people who can't form a real argument.

My biggest pet peeve in this game are the people who like to tell you how your character/job should be played. I appreciate and listen to advice, but don't just try to enforce your opinion of that particular job

1. People who tell me that I must be a sucky mage because I am a Galka.

2. People who can not manage to get a SC together whether I am playing BLM or SAM.

3. PLDs who do not rest after every fight.

4. <call>/<call1> and the few like that in a macro. The quieter calls are ok for SC notice and such.

5. People who refuse to buy oils and powders and expect me to keep them snuck and invised.

6. People who use Food +1 that gives STR and no accuracy, at lower levels. Doesn't matter if you have STR+30 when you are missing every other swing.

7. People not staying in range for songs.

8. People who refuse to allow good mages to melee on non AOE mobs. I mean come on, Hexa Strike kicks ass and can create a level 3 SC. I can manage to do my job and melee at the same time. It is auto attack after all. Not like you dang Melee do anything after you hit attack half the time anyways.

Here's a good example of one of my pet peeves.

As you can see, I took the time to gear myself as best I could at this level (for the most part), and I have gear ready for my next couple of levels as well. While I don't expect everyone to have +1 everything, even the NQ versions of what I'm using would at least show that an effort was made.

The BLM 27 sitting next to me (in my party), is wearing RSE1 and a Yukata. And a maple wand. That's it. He's JP, and as far as I know, not RMT.

Anyway, just one of the little things that drive me crazy.
