Ya the dance emotes are really pissing me off. I am having video card issues and in some areas the dancing causes problems and I get stutter and graphic issues. So I told the ls I'm having video card issues and my son is building a new puter so I get his old card and that will take care of it. Poor kid got all his parts and the mb was bad so he had to rma it and is waiting for the replacement. Well that means I'm waiting too and still some morons in my ls think its funny to irritate me and come up and dance right next to my character. If they want to dance away from me so I can rotate the camera, thats fine.....but right next to me means I'm screwed. So that means I need to blist ls members just so I don't have any frickin problems.....and then I'm called immature. /sigh

There was a BLM in my party just now who had /dance1-/dance4 WITHOUT the motion after it whenever she cast spells, you can say i can easily filter emotes but i want to know if someones waving to me or poking me or something. adding that /dance emote in your macros is not only annoying but its hurting you and the party by delaying a magic burst or a stun because you think it would be cute to have ur character dance around like an idiot while casting spells.

-Tanks who think its really cool when they wait like a whole minute to finally provoke a mob as its pulled. Really, do you not pay attention to your screen until you see the mob is wailing on the puller? If you want to be a AFK player go lvl Monk. Engage, Go AFK, look back at screen, see you hav 100TP, WS, back to AFK.

Managed to get a screenshot of both these pet peeves, i cover up the names because im not out to humiliate individuals, only to prove a point. The mithra in the back dancing close to the party is a Black Mage, and whenever she goes to cast a spell she has to do the freaking dance emote, i actually had to turn off my emotes just for this party, meaning she ALWAYS would miss a magic burst or stun because she just has to be "cute" and have a longer delay just because she wants to see her cat dance (which if this was a case 20 bucks says its a Manthra)

The Paladin NEVER kept hate because she ALWAYS just provoked, flashed, and went AFK THE REST OF THE BATTLE. So no matter how many times i said "PALADIN PAY ATTENTION!" (she was english so she could understand), she couldnt see it, you know why? Because she wasn't looking at her screen, probably went to get a drink or playing her PSP while tanking. She wasn't even tanking, notice the mob isnt even freaking facing her. So of course when the mob moves her character stands in the same spot like an idiot until she happens to glance back at the screen and see "OH the mob is gone!" turns around and provokes it then its back to her PSP. Just quit Paladin if your not going to take your job seriously and let the whole party get killed because you care more about rolling around a big ball and collecting objects (Katamari PSP). Your bringing shame to the Paladins of the world...

EDIT: As Far as her MP, she only used it for the initial flash, never to cure herself because well, she never looked at the screen while tanking lol.

In this screenshot, the Paladin stood that way for the WHOLE battle, with hate bouncing between the BLM and the Beastmaster.

Saw two PTs in Wajaom woodlands with RDM PLs today.

I want outside cures to be nerfed so badly now. PLing has gone way too far. If you're 40+ and still need a PL, fucking quit the game, please. It wasn't needed before 40 at any rate, that's just the level I'm willing to tolerate it to now >.>

The other day I was partying on PUP, and I was told to use the WHM frame since we didn't have a healer. We were in Bibiki Bay, fighting Dahmals (sic)... everyone in the party is 67-70, possibly a 71. We were getting PL'd by a 75 WHM. Yes, that's right.

Then, our NIN tank had to leave, invited a PLD to take his place. When the PLD came, he had grabbed agro from 3 gobs... and the WHM healed him a little bit. After the PLD died, the WHM died... and deleveled. The entire party disbanded because "the PL didn't like the PLD and left" (exact words from the leader).

Why not force outside heals to only.... 10% effective? 50% at the very most.

That would be nice to kill PLs, BUT, that would also kill the effectiveness of some endgame Linkshells. Alot of endgame Linkshells have an outside "Mage" party mostly consisting of WHMs and RDMs with /whm to help the WHMs of the main alliance with -na spells and haste and backup cures, so whenever a WHM in the main alliance dies they get swapped out with one of the WHMs in the outside mage party.

My pet peeve is, lately, people who clearly don't try hard at thier job until endgame.

People, the mark of a good player isn't just endgame gear, but knowing how to use the gear you've had before and at that level as well. I could go on and on about plague of level 75 Bardairs with Accuracy builds, White Mage subjobs and gimpy level 22 bullets, but its all over every job.

You have MNKs in f'n Usukane with purple belts. The hell? Yeah, Brown Belt and Black Belt are hard to quest, but not brown belt at least? Bards in SHs, I have news for you - your evasion rating was shit to start with, if it all hits the fan, the mob is still going to tag you senseless if you can't sleep it. PLDs who use Adaman feet, dear god, I don't even have the job levelled and I want to strangle you. Level 75 RNGs with scorpion arrows - they're great for farming, but please, at least have marid arrows if you can't afford the kabura or demon arrows.

Oh, as this was peachy, I had a PL in a level 50+ PT this week. Great show of confidance to your backline, PT leaders.

High level RDM and WHMs - if you really must quit the game, just do so, don't pass on your accounts to friends, just delete it. Your legacy is PL and being tethered to your friend's ankle while he's "soloing." If you're not quitting the game - there's plenty to do now, don't just go PL your gimped buddies because you're bored.

PLing for the sake of being bored is like adding a extra helping of boring to your day. Sure, you "helped" a friend, but that's about it.

To "soloist" BSTs: If you're dual boxing a healer with your BST, you're not soloing at all. Yeah, its you on both characters, but one will never learn to control charmed pet hate and the other will just tear it away. You fail at BST and probably any other job that can solo, just go back to Jeuno and Whitegate and seek PT on a melee, thanks.

I think SE should make outside cure scale in effectiveness, just look how COR buffs and DNC cures are scaled by level difference. A level 1 COR can't buff a level 75 player they same way a 75 COR could, theres a bit of a penalty, DNC main can't cure the lower level player the same as someone comprable to thier level.

So lets say there's a level difference penalty for outside cures by default. Any cure beyond the first tier Cure would incur a penalty based on the level of the player recieving the cure divided by the number of people in the player's PT. If the WHM cured a person of comprable level or maybe a few levels lower, there would be no noticeable change in performace and this wouldn't affect high level alliance play in the slightest.

My reasoning here is that this would discourage group PLing and penalize a solo or duo PT's PLer's effectiveness, but not harm it at all for players within the range. And, if someone was just tossing out a cure to help some lower level player out and save them from danger, the penalty wouldn't be as harsh.

Now PLing isnt all evil and bad as people say, yeah its not a good way for lvl 30+ players to lvl, just because they have a PL they just invite 6 melees and not learn party dynamics and how to do their job etc.

But if a friend is having a hard time getting to lvl 10, or if he deleveled and trying to solo like 200 exp, yeah ill offer to PL, since i know they know how to do their job etc etc. I won't PL whole partys though, they can function on their own.

I've p/l'd my family members (soloing) quite a bit. They are experienced players and were just trying to get to lvl 20 and bypass the dunes or just getting a job to 37 to sub it. As far as an entire pt, I've done that no more than 5 times for all the years I've played this game and that was no more than 5 times too many. For party p/l'ing, I usually only heal/buff the person that I'm there for and ignore the rest anyways. I'm not their p/l'er and the backline in the pt can do their job. But I'm with Kitten, I abhor p/l'ers and would love to see outside curing adjusted.

I have noticed quite a bit of this lately myself -- in parties. One of the players, unfortunately usually the tank, brings a two-boxed PLer with them. If you're lucky they just have their PL puppet on standby for when things go down the tubes. More often, though, you have someone sucking at both jobs (yes, it is possible to screw up PLing!).

Even worse, one of my friends wound up partied with someone who was two-boxing a whole other job in a whole other party! I'm not even talking MNK and DRG or something -- this guy was playing a THF and a RDM, two of the jobs that require the most attention, in completely different ways -- again, in two different parties. At least the second time my friend encountered him he managed to convince him to stop seeking on his THF, but sheesh! -- Pteryx

Doesn't it get annoying typing this out all the time?

I've had a PL while fighting dhalmels in Bibiki Bay. Having a PL means I can be more badass than I typically am. I can block hits with my face instead of my shield, and I can disengage /dance and re-engage in the middle of fights.
