That happened to a friend of mine last night on DNC AF. She got to the NPC to turn in the items at about 23:50 but he didn't stop talking and accept them til after the day rolled over, so she had to wait.

Yeah the worst part was that I was in Bastok Markets (S) so even if I wanted to fill the time with crafting or something I couldn't even raid the AH for mats.

• Melees who think they're Altana's gift to FFXI, demand a BRD or they don't leave Whitegate and then show up with thier underlevlled NIN subs. If you're going to be a massive puss, at least finish NIN to 37 and have Utsusemi: Ni - at least you'll be using NIN right.
• PT who use BRD, RDM or COR as a crutch for their shitty gear and gimped subs instead of inviting us to enhance the PT like we're supposed to. Don't have Sniper's or Sushi? Not my problem, pal. Forgot Sanction? Pop your empress band, Corsair's Roll is a reward and a courtesy, not to make up for things you forgot.

This drives me nuts too. I mean sometimes the mobs just come over there on their own, but when everyone knows the zone to Whitegate is the weakened/rest area, don't fight the NM who does 4k + AoE moves right on top of us. Unless, of course, you're trying to lose the candy.

-People who have no respect for their elders(It should be in RL pet peeve thread, but i see it in FFXI alot so i might as well post it here), People who complain that their parents are kicking them off the game for the night, or people who bitch that their parents are making them do chores so they have to log off. (Now im only going off a normal family setup, i know some parents are just downright a-holes) But most parents work hard to keep the roof over your head, they are the ones who lay down the 14 bucks a month for FFXI (unless you have a job and pay for it yourself, but if you have a job and your 20+ years old you shouldnt be living with your parents anyway unless your college is close and it benefits you more to stay with them) They raised you, they cared for you, they buy you food, and all they ask are for some chores to be done around the house or for you to hit the books instead of hit the game and you give them so much crap for it like a rebel. I can't wait until some of these kids grow up and have kids of their own and they slap themselves. Parents have much more to worry about than arguing with their kid because the sink is full of dishes and the kid wants to get experience points on his video game. I just want them to see what its like to pay mortgage/taxes/bills and realize how care free their life is and that loading the dishwasher is nothing compared to the work parents have to do.

Selphiie, I think that's a bit unfair, since you admittedly don't know their status. I lived with my dad for awhile, he didn't want me using the internet at all because it was 'full of predators', and other absurdities. It didn't matter as far as FFXI was concerned anyway because he couldn't afford a computer (my grandpa eventually found an old one from when he worked from IBM; old as in it literally outdated me), nor internet. I did, however, have to hide my cell phone from him since I used it to send short emails to friends to keep my sanity.

Now, of course there are a lot of whiny teenagers in FFXI, but you also have to consider that a lot of people play MMOs to get away from their life for good reason.

When we get aggro from something and we are told to sleep it and outrun it. In Ifrit's Cauldron. Granted, there were 3 of us, a WHM and 2 RDM/NIN (we were going to do Ifrit) and the fight might have been iffy but it was probably doable.

Instead, let's sleep it and sneak/invis up and try to outrun it. Yeah, that's smart. So it catches up to me somehow (partially because I don't know the way) takes my shadows off, which then wipes my sneak/invis off, and now I've got 5 bats and 2 bombs on me.

BUT LET'S NOT FIGHT THAT BAT THAT INITIALLY AGGROED BECAUSE THEY'RE MEAN!

No, all three of us dying and having to HP was so much better than the chance that we might have survived the bats if we would have just fucking tried it.

Pussies. We were gonna die anyway, we had nothing to lose by trying to kill it. Or maybe the WHM could have Escaped us before we died if we didn't think we could kill them. OR! We could have fucking Escaped from the get-go! GENIUS!

We had a hell of a lot better chance of surviving by killing the bats than trying to outrun them. They're dark based. Sleep II is going to be partially resisted. Try to outrun aggro mobs in a zone filled with even more aggro mobs is pretty god damn retarded. But even if we didn't try to kill them the second we got aggro we shouldn't have tried to run it off. I knew I was dead as soon as they told me to run.

I hate people sometimes.

Grrr i know i've mentioned this like 5 times before but seriously. I was trying to make a party and got like 4 people already, there are JP seeking without /seacoms, so im like "Ok, they dont say {English} {Party} {No,Thanks}" So i go and ask them, and get NOTHING, so i figure all these JP are AFK, a few minutes pass of me spamming my lvl range to get more people, and i notice the JP i asked aren't seeking anymore, i look to see if they logged and i see them at camp in a party led by a JP....

Now i understand JP don't want to party with NA/EU because they can't get over the language barrier even though SE put the auto translate feature FOR A REASON, but do they REALLY have to be so rude to just downright ignore me just because i'm NA? I mean how could they really tell? I asked in auto translate, {Experience Points}{Party}{Do You Need It?}, is there some kind of secret code?

But really, i understand if you don't want to party with me because of communication barrier, but don't be rude and just IGNORE me, just say {ENglish}{No, Thanks}, although I don't know why the freak not, you only need the auto translate function to coordinate basic party stuff, and people know how to do their jobs anyway, so its not like you have to tell the Paladin what to do each time, he will already know.

-This freakin "dance1" emotes they added is a freaking curse. There was a BLM in my party just now who had /dance1-/dance4 WITHOUT the motion after it whenever she cast spells, you can say i can easily filter emotes but i want to know if someones waving to me or poking me or something. adding that /dance emote in your macros is not only annoying but its hurting you and the party by delaying a magic burst or a stun because you think it would be cute to have ur character dance around like an idiot while casting spells.

-Paladin in the same party is one of those paladins with those corky provoke macros, but not only was it annoying to see each time, she had a <CALL> every 30 seconds, not only to tell us she was provoking, but to tell us provoke was ready, "ohh im making sure the party knows im provoking by having this obnoxious <call>" Same with her flashes too.. "FLASH IS READY <CALL1>" "IM USING FLASH <CALL1>"

-LEAVE EXP MOBS ALONE WHEN CAMPING SERKET, god damn i swear people have nothing better to do while camping serket that have to go around and kill exp mobs when they clearly see atleast 3 partys exping off them.

-People who are taking campaignn just a LITTTLEEE too seriously... GUYS, its just campaign, you get allied tags, you kill mobs, you get exp, you get allied notes. "OMG WE ARE LOSING NECROPLIS! THE CROCKADILE GATOR ARMY HAS BEEN DEFEATED!!OMG ITS WAR ITS WAR!"
Me: no.. its... just campaign.. chill out...

-Tanks who think its really cool when they wait like a whole minute to finally provoke a mob as its pulled. Really, do you not pay attention to your screen until you see the mob is wailing on the puller? If you want to be a AFK player go lvl Monk. Engage, Go AFK, look back at screen, see you hav 100TP, WS, back to AFK.

-Beastmasters who camp on Partys: yes, ok i know its wrong to have partys camp on beastmasters, but dont do it the other way around, seriously dude, if you see the Garlaige Citadel basement having 4 partys with no mobs around and seeing whole partys out trying to claim mobs, WHY THE FRACK would you still try to exp down here, the benefit of being a Beastmaster is you can go and exp in places normal partys dont go, but obviously even retards can play the Beastmaster job.

Well, the update to campaign in exciting for many people and - unlike Besieged - we don't have to suffer through stupid 300 quotes all the time or shout-fights. At least, that's how campaign is on Odin. People just stay kinda quiet in Campaign.

Though there is the occasional, "For Pony!" /shout, which I'm perfectly fine with.

As with my comments on the new AN gear, just because Campaign isn't interesting to you doesn't mean its not interesting to other people. I like Campaign, I like conquesting things. I like raiding beastmen fortresses. Why wouldn't I be excited?

Logical conclusion would be that they already had a party for something and just had their flags up to make it easier for the leader to search for them. I wouldn't pull the race card so quickly.
