I love my LS, but several of my fellow officers and especially the shellholder are seriously impatient, and it drives me nuts sometimes. Not impatient as in this member fell asleep an hour ago, screw em, but more like not waiting an extra 45 seconds for me to finish filling MP when I have 100/tick hMP going, and stand up and start a Refresh/Haste order before charging head-first at Cerb.

Things usually work out fine b/c FC5 is awesome and I can buff the group quickly, but I hate trying to mash out a full buff/debuff cycle in under 30 seconds. :[

i did talk, on occasion, just too lazy to pic up my mic sometimes, but i talked when i was too lazy to type lol. whichever is closer i guess, like if im up and about in my room i dont have time to sit and type, just turn on the mic say what i need to say and back off, but when im just sitting at my pc and my desk mic (its not a headset) is far away ill be too lazy to pic it up everytime i wanna talk lol.

A -People that fall asleep before events, wasting everyones time.

B -Events that get cancelled because one person failed to show/fell asleep

C -People who tell you stuff you already know

D -Those people that come on the LS and think we give a shit what girl he screwed irl or how high or how drunk he got last night.

A and B - I'll add to this one. People who /t you before an event and say how much they hate doing it and wish they could just go farm or exp instead. THEN they "fall asleep" right before the event starts. Or d/c, or come up with a lame excuse for logging, etc.

C - This is my husband to a tee! He incessantly explains even the simplest of things go me, like I'm some moron that can't figure it out myself. My husband, "Chery, a tire is round because otherwise it couldn't roll." Me, "WOW! Thank you Captain Obvious!!"

D - AFREAKINMEN!

I'll sum up my new #1 hate with a little story.

I'm in campaign when some guy I've never seen on my Ls asks for some leveling help, when no one is talking and all AFK. So I tell him that you know, its right after an update get used to it people are doing other things. So he tells me that jokingly they shouldn't update.

I explained to him pretty much EVERYTHING you can do in this game, but alas He can't farm, craft, fish, exp, solo, BCNM, quest or do missions because he is either too low in lv (27) or too poor.

I lost it at this point, telling him frankly to quit the fucking game if he has that attitude. I explained to him how I can start a lv 1 character and do all of the above in like 2 hours. When I later referred to him as a self righteous prat (oh no, I'm me i can’t farm I’m only 27 me me me me help me lv me me me) he seems to think because I know something of the game I'm being a hypocrite.

The thing that i love is that at this point the lv 13 new juy jumps in and starts having a go at him. Telling him of the exploits and farming at 13.

At this moment the Ls leader comes on and he starts to go on the defensive, screaming that “OMG linkshells are for people to help each other, you bastards im leavening”. After about 15 repeats of the same thing in a different format he finally left.

What is with people these days! I not only told him everything in the game he can do at his lv, I also explained where he can farm craft harvest and fish all the the same time in the same zone giddues. As well as other place and other things he can do. But no he wouldn’t have it, apparently he can’t do anything in this game but Lv up, and when we have an update and no one’s leveling, oh woe is the world this game sucks.

I don't know one word to describe this type of person, but I'm sure it wouldn't sound very pleasent.

Peeve: When I finish a quest at 3 AM game time, and I have to wait till the next Vana day to start the next one. Something I could help, I guess, but still just ... annoying.

BLM got kept up late at work. We plan the mission at 1pm EST since BLM and RDM are from Germany. OK, held up at work, I can find something to to while I wait. Being held up at work is totally understandable.

So BLM finally arrives and someone forgot thier body armor. I don't let people go into a CoP BC nekkid or even partially nekkid - most I'll let you get away with is no back piece or a missing earring - so I stamp my feet and say "Go get yer Iron Ram body piece or we don't go in." RDM decides since there's more sleep/cure and less nuke/enfeebling for him in this BC, so he goes to get /BLM sub for sleeps.

Half hour later.

All are back, everyone is here, all is in order. We're ready to go.

Except the Warrior - who stayed up all last night and this morning, even though he knew this mission was today - falls asleep.

So we went in for a dry run, got killed a couple times and called it a day. Least five of us know what we're in for Saturday.

-TWO people who INSIST on talking through /shout instead of /tells for the whole zone to hear. When im in whitegate i want to watch /shouts for events/missions/etc, not how one guy is telling his friend in /shout how many times hes killed Lord Of Onzozo.

-People who spam shouts, yeah every minute or two its fine to hit that /shout macro, but not 5 times in 3 seconds to where your shout is seen multiple times, its not necessary. Only reason i say once every few minutes is because you know people could be logging in during that time window and may be interested in what you have to /shout for. We Don't need {Fomor Codex}{Do You Need It?}70k spammed 5 times from 1:24:00 to 1:24:03 >.>;

-Red Mage's that refuse to conform to what the party needs. Seriously dude if we are going to be exping on Antica we are going to need you to be /whm, not because we want you to be a cure bot, but because you need to help the whm silena the NIN/PLD/or other mages who were in range or front line jobs with magic. I understand you benefit more from subbing /blm, but the party benefits more from you subbing /whm. Unless your one of the lame RDMs who only have ONE subjob lvled and aren't ready for any situation except for those that need /blm...

-Party leaders who tell you what not to pull: ok i understand if the puller is a little more inexperienced and you don't want him pulling undead in the basement of Garlaige citadel ok thats fine. But I've lvled BRD and COR to 75, leveled WAR to 57, I know what and what not to pull at camps. Had a party leader yesterday in a Quicksand caves party with a lvl 46-47 party tell me not to pull Ants because they are too high for us... "Trust me, ive lvled through here before, Antica is on our list of things to kill at 46-48"

-People who sub /war and are too afraid to first provoke for me to SATA the tank/ or too afraid to provoke if it runs off to a mage, i think if you have provoke its basically a duty to protect the mages, while they keep you from dying. I beleive its the role for all melee to keep the mages from getting killed, and the mages will keep you from getting killed, its a GROUP effort.

-I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but the Signet Guards take for~fucking~ever to cast signet on you, you stand there for 5 seconds or so locked onto the signet guy until hes like "Oh yeah, signet", kind like a RDM who stands there wondering why your not getting MP back quick enough as Paladin "Oh yeah refresh"

-Mages who don't want you to pull until they are at full MP (i beleive ive mentioned this before, but too lazy to go back and check) Like a Tarutaru whitemage with 500+MP at 47 asking me not to pull until he is at 400, like "dude ok we have a Bard/White Mage, you have ballad and someone to check you on cures, your going to be fine"

-THFs who only use boomerangs (and dont have marksmanship lvled) Go... get a crossbow... level Marksmanship... before i kill you....

-People who have no respect for their elders(It should be in RL pet peeve thread, but i see it in FFXI alot so i might as well post it here), People who complain that their parents are kicking them off the game for the night, or people who bitch that their parents are making them do chores so they have to log off. (Now im only going off a normal family setup, i know some parents are just downright a-holes) But most parents work hard to keep the roof over your head, they are the ones who lay down the 14 bucks a month for FFXI (unless you have a job and pay for it yourself, but if you have a job and your 20+ years old you shouldnt be living with your parents anyway unless your college is close and it benefits you more to stay with them) They raised you, they cared for you, they buy you food, and all they ask are for some chores to be done around the house or for you to hit the books instead of hit the game and you give them so much crap for it like a rebel. I can't wait until some of these kids grow up and have kids of their own and they slap themselves. Parents have much more to worry about than arguing with their kid because the sink is full of dishes and the kid wants to get experience points on his video game. I just want them to see what its like to pay mortgage/taxes/bills and realize how care free their life is and that loading the dishwasher is nothing compared to the work parents have to do.

God, yes. I shouldn't have to turn off shout because you don't know how to use tells.

Huge peeve of mine as well. When I was just leveling RDM, a lot of other RDMs were telling me I needn't even bother with WHM. I knew better.

Or tell you when to and not to pull. I know when to pull. I know what the parties limits are. Let me do my job.

That happened to a friend of mine last night on DNC AF. She got to the NPC to turn in the items at about 23:50 but he didn't stop talking and accept them til after the day rolled over, so she had to wait.
