Sometimes I think that you are what is wrong with FFXI Aka. ;/

I'm the result of a stubborn person, in an unethical player environment fighting against the lifeless style that is meripo and elitism created by the vast majority of NA endgame shell thinking styles that think they can be/out do JPs, who are the real superiors of the game. As a result, short sightedness and constant inconsistencies, with ramblings on forums are generated to balance the random anomalies caused by the play style, to resist the trend style.

And now my worst fear/dread had come to pass. After Xarc, which we cleared for the first time, I left got my cs and logged for the night cause I need to get up early to head out to spend time doing make upwork before my final thats 2 hours from the time of this post, I just gotten told, new thf, gotten Assassin's Armlets during farming....GFDI!!!!!! Why do i bother anymore??! Stuff ALWAYS drop when I'm not there, stuff i WANT/NEED! /emoWristTierV

(Though a secret part of me wants to answer - "Yes I am real, a real WOMAN, and old enough to be your mother, now shut up and go kill something, go make mama proud")- and I don't get the whole "teehee Im a grrrl" thing anyway (maybe I'm just too old!).

This made me snort. LOL I say "Yes, I am a WOMAN." all the time to young men that approach me. Not always the best tactic though. Many times what follows is not something I want to hear, usually some MILF comment or other sexual innuendo. So then I just elaborate and ask them "Do you have a Grandmother?" and the usual reply is yes. To which I say, "Would you say something like that to your Grandmother?" and they are usually repulsed by that notion. (I have ran into a few that....*shudders*) And this is where I let them know that I'm a Grandmother and then all sexual thoughts usually go flying right out of their cute little heads and I either have a nice chat with them or they get angry, call me some names, and then stomp off. LOL

We're gonna do the "Wedding" thing in a few months just for the poops and giggles! Plus that nifty white outfit!!!!

Lucky! I've been playing this game FOREVER so I dropped hints more than once and finally just flat out said "You WILL......" but no dice. >< You know I believe I'm married to Mr. Spock. /sigh (Thats what I get for lusting after Mr. Spock as a young girl I guess.... )

Holy shit, brand new peeve!

While I'm aware that auto-grouping inventories currently aren't feasible, as they'd just further help RMT fishbots, really this sucked some ass.

4 linkshells camping Despot last night, mine gets it in a crowd of 45-50 people. We kill it easily, and decide to move on to Faust. I lot the Gem and instruct everyone to pass, 2 of our members apparently cannot read, and do not pass on the Gem. After 2 solid minutes of "Pass the gem. Pass the gem. Pass the gem." which go ignored(and the idiots were not afk for sure), they finally decide to pass the Gem. However, for some reason, them and the entire rest of the group also passed on everything else in the pool before the Gem.

Callisto obtains a vial of mercury.

And of course, this story could not possibly have gone any differently than that mercury putting me at 70/70. Gem falls to the trash, because everyone but me passed it. I put in a GM call, my 1-time Item Restore request cannot be utilized since I never actually held the Gem. Of course, the two LS members who didn't pass the Gem the first 30 times they were told to, when my inventory had room for it, blame me for it. A 900k trigger that we just outclaimed 40 people for gone to waste, and I had to stay up until 1:30am camping the next pop to make up for it.

So in the end, I'm not really sure which is more of my peeve, that all the ice crystals and mercury didn't auto-group in my inventory, or LS members that can't fucking read, but it's some combination of those two that really chaps my browneye.

This has probably been mentioned in the last 165 or so pages, but I don't care. The burn for me is still fresh.

Level 40 Red Mages who enter a party less than 1k tnl and DON'T bring their Refresh scroll with them. And then, to add salt to my already critical wounds, they refuse to cure the PLD when he has 78 HP and I'm completely out of mp (I'm the WHM). I totally understand a RDM not wanting to spend their time curing...but when your tank is about to die, and you are sitting on 298 MP....COME ON!

Just because the majority of players don't want to play the game you want it to be played, that doesn't make you a freedom fighter.

Men who roleplay females. Big one right here. I understand the idea of "We pay the $ to whatever whatever whatever", and that's a sad argument for this sort of gender confusion. At the very least, make your performance believable. News flash guys, the girls that i've seen in this game don't type out "um" or "tee hee" or any of those other /snuggle type emotes as often as you do. Don't be a douche.

Believe it or not, there are role-players on FFXI. Very few, but they exist. And some of us even made our characters with an RP concept in mind. I'm a female, but the character I thought up just happens to be male. I'm secure enough in my gender identity that I can play a character in a video game or a character in a game of let's pretend whose gender doesn't match mine; it sounds as though not everyone can say the same, sadly.

That being said, poor word choice aside, I can't say that I'm particularly fond of boys who pretend that they're girls IRL for the sake of getting attention either. Or that I'm flattered by the usual performance. This extends past FFXI, too. I am open about my real gender if it comes up. So I do agree with you on the point you were trying to make, just not with your word choice. -- Pteryx
