Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
You'd have to buy a copy for the PC as well as the 360 if you wanted to play on both. While you could definitely access the account on either medium, I think you need to have the registration codes for the game to work.
Someone may correct me on that though.

Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
The thing about the 360 is that you have to register you account to a xbox live user. So if you buy it for the pc and register just enter in your name that you registered and it will lock it in to the xbox live account. You may be able to find the game available for download on the pc but either way you will have to buy or burn the 360 cd.

Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
that kinda sucks.. I mean why do i have to pay 110 bucks for one account and just two copies of the game... i mean like shouldnt there be optional downloads for it? CoV Everquest 2 almost all MMOs put themselves out for download XD.. well i plan on getting the 360 version as it comes with all 3 expansions... but is there anywhere i can download all 3 plus the game on the web? so i dont have to buy the game again?

Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
Vana'dial Gold is $20, comes with a Guest Pass, ToAU PC expansion is $20, and Xbox 360 full collection is $50. I guess it's no consolation to know you'll be spending closer to $90 total than $110?

Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
Everquest 2 puts out free downloads because they'll do anything to get people to play their sucky game. I wouldn't use their desperate attempts at getting players as any sort of standard. :p
It would be one thing if you wanted to buy the PC version and play it on multiple PCs. You could install it on every PC in your house and still access the same account. The problem is that you want to play across multiple platforms, which means, unfortunately, that you have to buy multiple versions.

Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
Well, a guest pass is another entity altogether. That just allows you access to the most basic part of the game, without any expansions. You could play like that for a while, but you'd be severely limited as to what locations you could visit and what jobs you could play.

Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
If your buying the game for the xbox 360 I see no reason you can't download it for the PC and use your 360 account other than the fact you would have to obtain the PC version from an illegal download. [And it would take ages to download 16GB I think it is?]75 Mnk Sam | 70 Drk | 40 Blm | 37 Nin Rng Thf War

Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
Downloading it would be illegal? >.< but arent we paying to "rent" the server space and to "rent" the chars i mean like 1 buck for one extra char... i mean thats how the system goes for MMORPGs we rent.. so when we dont pay we dont play XD.. its all in the accounts XD

Re: Ffxi Pc, 360
Yes, you are just "renting". But they're not going to make it easy for you to play on multiple platforms without buying multiple versions, because they are a business, and getting you to buy multiple copies is something that tickles them when they think about it.
