I choose Dragoon because it was what I wanted to do.. he choose monk because it was what he wanted to do but because the invites stop coming it was easy for him to just start another job.

Come on man get real! We both know how to form parties. And just like you said, if you want to form a party you would do so yourself, same as me. I just fell in love with WHM thats it.

You can still see me running around with my MNK to skill up my staff or club or to do quest and help people do quest and get keys.

That's the great thing of having a high melee and high mage, you live both sides of the world and learn to appreciate both for what they are.

For you to say I'm this way as a WHM I can't believe! I'm very shocked and hurt that you would blast me like that. It's been several times I told you to come on and do Eco Warrior for Exp, Bastok Escort Quest for exp. Get your AF also, but everytime you were in the new area leveling your DRG, cuz that's what you wanted to do.

You also got impatient and ended our static with our MNK and DRG cuz I couldn't party when you got on. I didn't get mad, I just proceeded to go on with my gaming.

It's cool, your still my bro but I guess we have different views of whats right and wrong in game!

Ah, the idiocy continues. The comments in this thread remind me of real life filth you hear. People with big noses are Jewish. Jewish people are tight wads. Whms or any mages are stuck up idiots..... /sigh....grow up.

The person that plays the job makes the personality of the character. Trust me, the same person can go in their mog house and change to warrior, paladin, ninja, samurai, or any other job and still be the same dick you pt'd with earlier. PEOPLE make the personality of the character and yes there are some real dicks that play this game. In my HNM we have more issues with melee and tanks than we do with mages. In the past year, the drama we had crop up came from 3 mnks, 2 nins, 2 drgs, 1 pld, 1 thf, 1 rng, 1 whm, and 1 blm. So thats 10 non mage to 2 mage for drama. (Really can't count the blm as drama since they left of their own accord but included for accuracy.) And this of course, varies across every server but when you boil it all down, it probably evens out to close to 50/50. People make the character and that persons real life attitude shines through to whatever job they play.

As for paying for tele's or raise's, my duty is to my party and to my LS. Thats it. If my party needs a tele or a raise, I do not charge them. (I've seen blms charge for warps in pt's though and it makes me want to strangle them. But thats another story! LOL) Even to an extent I am dedicated to my ls for raises and tele's but there has to be a line you draw. If you are in a zone far away and busy doing something or in a party lvling another job, etc. no one should expect you to drop everything and come tele or raise them because that is just rude. If you're standing around chatting or just goofing around, and someone in the ls asks for a tele or raise, I feel that you should attempt to help sometimes.

Now when it comes to a total stranger needing you to raise them or to tele them, they can not expect you to come running. For Gods sake with all the people on this server and everyone one of them expecting all the whms to be at their beck and call......thats asinine. Let's look at it in a real life context. Your mother is basically a whm at times. She tends to our wounds, takes us to school, the mall, or other places, and she helps us wake up in the morning and feeds us. So do we expect our mother to be at our beck and call whenever we need something.

Person: Mom, I need to meet Bob at the mall so you need to come pick me up and take me there. I don't care if you are busy at work, its your job to take me where I want to go when I want to go.

Reasonable? Hell no. Insane? YES! Whm's are individuals with needs and wants just like everyone else. We will fulfill our responsibilities to our pt and ls and IF WE FEEL LIKE IT AND/OR HAVE THE TIME, we will help others. I do not believe in charging for raises unless that raise ends up costing me money to do it. (i.e. an area with magic aggro so I have to use sneak oils/prizm powders, a long distance so I have to take a chocobo, etc.) Then it is only fair that a stranger pay those costs out of respect for the time and effort the whm has taken. Teleports are an entirely different animal. Out of pt and ls, it is a service that we provide to strangers. I don't have our lawn service come over and do our lawn care for free. I can just imagine telling them "It's your job so you should be doing your job for me and I shouldn't have to pay." I mean WTF!? They might do it for free for friends and family members but a total stranger.....HELL NO!

And fyi, last night I was in Whitegate getting ready to do an Assualt, I had to tele-mea a ls member. Well while I was at the crag, someone must have done a /sea for a whm. When I got back to Whitegate I got a /t from a lvl 12 mnk asking me to come raise his friend in the Canyon. Ok now everyone knows that at that lvl you lose very little exp and hp'ing is usually the better option and I could have just ignored the /t but I responded. I asked why he needed a raise and he explained they were on their way to Muhara to take the ferry to Selbina to get a pt and they would have to go all the way back and start over. So I tele'mea'd, found them (which was no easy task /sigh), and raised his friend. So ya, all whm's are pricks.

So stop being an unreasonable jerk and realize that people in this game are not at your beck and call because you say so. Treat them with some respect and you'll get respect back.....and maybe even a free tele once in a while.

Edit: A little background here, my very first jobs that I lvled where Mnk, War, Nin, Thf, and Drk. So don't give me the "you don't know what its like to wait for a pt" crap because I sure as hell do.

And I agree that a lot of this depends on how you treat the player in question. I HATE it when I'm in Bastok, and some guy asks for a FREE Teleport-Mea, when I'm looking at the AH. I'm a PERPETUALLY on /anon becuase when I go off of it, I either get a Raise request, tele-request, or a Power-level request. EVEN WHEN I HAVE A SEARCH COMMENT UP SAYING I WON'T OFFER THOSE SERVICES.

P.S.: Doing "^^" right after you ask for a tele, will not get you a tele, an average conversation goes like this:

Random level 18 player>> {Hello!} {Teleport-Mea} {Can I have it?} ^^ {Reward}^^

>>Me I'm busy right now, sorry.

Player>> Please, I've been looking for a {Teleport-Mea} for 15 minutes now.

>>Me And if I teled you, I'd have to warp, my HP is in Whitegate, and I'd have to either Tele-Dem to get back here, or take the Airship. Since I can't OP from Vazhl. That would cost me 20 minutes in time.

(Also, I'd like to state, that during football camp, I ate nothing but Cauliflower, Broccoli, Carrots, Celery, and Watermelon. I lost 50 pounds in two weeks. My mother took me to the doctors, and I had NO nutritional deprivation what-so-ever. Watermelon FTW!!!!! Also, I'd like to state, that I'm not Vegan, but for those two weeks each year, I could not eat meat without vomiting, due to the stress 12 hours of exercise a day puts on your body. )

I just don't really like eating chicken (or any meat really) on the bone. It just grosses me out. And watermelon's not bad, but I hate the seeds. If someone is going to seed it for me ahead of time (yes, I'm that lazy) then I'm all over it.

Well, first off, allow me to just say that white mages deserve respect and admiration for what they do. Watching health bars and curing status ailments for 3-5 hours is not fun. (at least to me, others may disagree, but IMHO if the majority of players didn't mind or enjoyed it, there'd be less problems finding a whm).

I think it all boils down to this: From 11-20, most people just want to get out of dunes. Dunes is like slow torture, and you are isolated from everything and everyone. Whenever I'm taking a job through Dunes (which is thankfully done for pretty much every job I would ever consider playing), my goal is to get in as late as possible and out as soon as possible so I can get back to civilazation.

Players of many jobs, in particular:

1) Bard
2) WHM
3) Ninja
4) Paladin
5) Corsair

Are in very high demand, and thus have learned that if the party they are in is not doing well overall, or if they die, that they can get a different and probably better party in minutes (heck, for some jobs they can and do arrange to get into parties if the first one is awful). For most players, this attitude wears off very quickly after the dunes. People just act differently inside the dunes.

I've never had a problem with this sort of behavior outside the dunes myself, or certainly not to this level. WHM cockyness wears off a LOT in the high 50s. It basically becomes "Oh, well, if you're going to be a dink, we don't need you. the RDM/WHM can main heal."

And whoever said a whm is needed for mire parties, last I checked composition of choice for parties in that zone was BRD/RDM(/WHM only)/melee/melee/melee/melee.

So really, at the end game everyone's basically the same. Sure, the Brds and whms and stuff get more love, but that's just cause there's what, like 5-6 support jobs and 15 damage dealing jobs?

Ok, enough derailing.

I was going to point out that after 60ish, WHM doesn't exactly have the world at their feet invite wise as much. Most prima-donna WHMs will be easily replaced by RDM or not invited at all, since so many folks are doing -burn parties.
