I choose Dragoon because it was what I wanted to do.. he choose monk because it was what he wanted to do but because the invites stop coming it was easy for him to just start another job.

I have to agree here that is it the player. For one instance, I am currently playiong as a BLM... I mean sure, I do liek to rate my gear against others, but I certainly don't see myself as a god. At the same time, once I was setting up an assault run Piperiqua(sp? heh) and I got an offer from a THF friend. I invited him, and even though it was in shout, he didn't have the staging point. I told him he better go get it, and brong lockpicks and silent oils powders... he said he didn't need them. He logged off shortly after getting rapped by an army of Lamia, Formors Qutrubs and Imps.

Yeah, throw cures....that's a really good decription of WHM.....

Not only do we "Throw cures"...but our asses will:

Cast Haste, and possibly keep a cycle.

Cast Regen, possibly keep a cycle.

WHMs need to know what elements certain attacks are, so they can use the appropriate Bar-ra spells.

We need to know what diminiative affects mob TP moves have, so we can use a -na spell, or Erase.

We do this, plus manage MP usage, AND we put up with the bullshit of other people. I've had people come up to me and ask me for a tele right in the middle of partying in Crawler's Nest. I'm sure a ton of other WHMs have too. But "I'm sorry, I'm busy" isn't a proper excuse, since when we all became WHMs, we signed some contract saying we'd drop everything and tele, raise, etc....the random people who we don't even know, but have the audacity to ask us for teles when we're actually doing something.

Why don't WHMs tele anymore?

They can make more gil farming.

I remember seeing a lot of melees bitching about teles becoming virtually unavailable, unless you charged a high price....

The truth is, 500-1000 gil per tele isn't going to do much, especially when there's more than 1 WHM teleing, and teles shouts aren't that common. Not many people on my server shout anymore, at least during the time when it's changing from NA to JP primetime.
