Check out the FFXI Atlas for more maps than you can shake a stick at. They have overlays for the locations of quest spots, treasure chests, HELM points, and all kinds of stuff.

      AND

If you like the maps over at FFXI Atlas, there is a .DAT swapping project done by Brandson where you can have those maps in game.

However, there is no legit way to make obtaining the actual maps eaiser, you will have to print them out from FFXI or use the better maps.

actually, check this out, it appears that if you are playing on the pc, you can replace the standard maps with ones similiar to those found on FFXI-Atlas, with all the marks for NMs and other points of interest.
I play on PS2, so i cannot verify the results of trying this.

the link for these maps can be found here- Enhanced Ingame map addon

          hope that helps

EDIT- it appears that Haggai's link points to a newer version, i missed that..

            Re: Maps anyone?

These guys are right on, ffxi-atlas is awesome. Some people swear by somepage, but ffxi-atlas even has the quests named out if the map is quested, giving you easy access to find it on another forum somewhere. They seem to keep it updated regularly, they even got maps of places, that when tried to view in game say there is no available map for this place. Kinda cool imo.

FFXI atlas also has a draw tool that you can use to add your own markers to it.

                  Re: Maps anyone?

Something else awesome about FFXI-Atlas: They have the hidden tunnels/routes marked too, i.e. the path to the "Secret Beach" in Valkurm Dunes.

They also numerically mark multiple entrances, i.e. Quicksand Caves/Altepa, so you can tell where you will go in and come out at.
