            Tactical or Technique of anyone that has played FFVI I'm sure they could associate TP with Cyan and his Technique ability. In which that ability he built Technique Points to release an attack very much like what FFXI called Weaponskills.

            My manual is from the October 29, 2003 release and on it says Technique Points, but I check their website and depending were you look it seems to be interchanged as if SE themselves didn't know which they wanted to call it.

            The more recent stuff seems to call it Tatical so I guess they decided on that...

              Re: The FFXI Abbreviation Definitions thread!

              I think it's easier to relate to limit breaks and overdrives. Cyan's bar was just like a cast time. You had to wait for it to fill to different points depending on the move you wanted to do.

              Does it matter what TP stands for? It amounts to the same thing.

                  I always liked this one, not an abbreviation but more a nickname:
                  Onion=Mandragoras
                  Also:

                  MH= Mog House
                  AH= Auction House

                  (DPS) is Damage per strike? I was never clear on that one.
                  DW= Dual Wield
                  ES= Elemental Seal
                  DS(+Curaga)= Divine Seal (...)

                    DPS Damage Per Second... (Which is what people should be calling Melee damage, rather than DoT, DoT is usually used when talking about spells like poison, dia, bio, etc... those are DoT spells)

                      I'd say a collection of all the abbreviations is pretty usefull.
                      Alot of people can't be bothered to look into that Glossary part.

                        Well, if they can't be bothered to look in the glossary, what makes you think they'd bother to look in this thread?

                          It's easier to look into a thread that has alot of definitions collected than to look into the glossary part of the forum to look for seperate definitions.

                          On a side note, is it just me or is the glossary a bit...empty? I get alot of "There are no glossary terms starting with the letter [fill in letter]"?

                            Well, that says to me: We need some folks to work on the glossary! Honestly, if I were a new player, it's the first place I'd look.

                              Agreed.

                              I'm a new player, and I like to know what everybody is talking about. I first looked into the glossary, but as I stated before, it is rather empty.

                              This thread is then, ofcourse, greatly appreciated by me.
