I had to roll back my drivers when I installed the game as well, but I run an ATI graphics card. For the controls, I use a PS2 controller via USB adapter. I started on PS2 so this setup works great for me.

Try enabling hardware cursor in the config settings to fix the mouse problem

Another thing, is it possible to show/hide helm?

You can remove the helm if you're going for aesthetic value.

Many people will often remove weapons or armor when running through towns.
