I understand the mechanics, I know the tricks and techniques to be successful. I play the law of averages...

So...

Why does this game hate me so?

How come - in as long as my memory serves... have I not gotten a single Beastman Seal in a party? Crystals - they fall to anyone else but me. Expensive and rare drops... lol... don't make me laugh.

I've built parties to be profitable... yet - the autoloot system is borked beyond belief. At least where I'm concerned... I have a friend who plays duo with me a lot, knows he's in for profit loot wise so long as we leave autoloot on. As soon as we set to QM on me. Nothing. No seals, no nice drops. Evah.

I've built parties and worked hard... done everything I could do to gain me stuff in game with others... picked nice and profitable camps, made sure everyone has signet, picked out ideal fighting mobs... but no.. this game hates me. Profit it says? {Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to autopass}.

p.s. - to add insult to injury... (and I'm really not an Elton John fan) - my punishment now continues as I have the aforementioned singer holding a concert within 1/4 of a mile of my bedroom window. Loud bad music and a large mass of unwashed bodies is not my cup of tea... I think I need another beer. ><

p.p.s. - this isn't a whine, unfortunately... I find it really hard typing in caps lock. Just a general sharing of my emo-pain (I jest - sarcasm was on at the start of this post)... I swear.. things like this make me want to take up Dork Knight and listen to Hybrid Theory and wear Black lipstick with my AF.

As for your concert problem, go to Wal Mart and buy some earplugs, or try putting on some headphones with some very slow and calming music. Or do number 1 and sleep in another room on the other side of the house, lol.

And don't get drunk, heaven knows what you'll do drunk and 1/4 of a mile away from a concert.

Its fate. The game knows you're trying to make money while partying, so it makes sure you get nothing. Try two things:
1. Don't make your xp parties about making money. And don't worry about it when you don't get anything. I've gone a month and not gotten a single beastman seal. Suddenly in one party I'll get five. Eventually the laws of averages will work out in your favor and you'll be burdened with an overabundance.
2. Farm. Aside from beastman seals you will never get anything in a party that will just pay for your job ten times over. Crystals are great and all, but even if you get two or three stacks, that only like 15k, not enough to even pay for your food. Just farm and try not to think about it.

It let me get Clothcraft from 30 - 53 on a budget of 200k, so... I suppose it's just karma now.

And for those wondering.. no, I'm not whining... just now levelling Goldsmithing up enough to synth up Beastcoins into Gold Ingots.

Yeah - rather you haven't the faintest clue about me.

Wait till it's over, sit outside with a glass of wine by the chinmea blazing merrily, listen to the pond, stare at the moon and realise yet again that the garden is still quite beautiful. Smile at the painted lights on the model railway. Sip some more wine. Stroke the dog. Laugh at the irony of the game's trickery. Have a cigarette. Sip some more wine. Post once more - highlighting the difference between people's 'opinion' and the realities of real life. Heaven knows what I'll do with a concert breaking up my suburbia. Oh wait... do what the rest of my neighbours are doing - get over the stress and chill out. I guess some of us are educated to drink properly. And yes - I did pick wine over beer in the end... had a nice bottle on the side for such an occasion.

Anyway the loot system tends to be very picky sometimes, try sweet-talking it like I do:

Ryouken gains 120 exp
You find a Magicked Skull on the Ghoul
~ In RL ~
Me: OMG! I need this item
*Ryouken begins rubbing the television screen* (I play on 360 btw )
Me: Come on baby, give daddy the skull

Ryouken obtains a Magicked Skull

XP parties are just that: parties where you intend to get experience. Farming beehive chips and the such make you easy money.

Beastmen seals are a luxury that come on the side. If you are so hellbent on getting beastmen seals, just level a level 1 job for a bit.

Congratulations for Caspian for realising the purpose of the thread.

It was meant as a humour thread - giving the game sentience, something which isn't possible (I hope). Maybe you've never had the "Valkurm Dunes hates me*" in particular discussion, or the theory of why getting a 10 stack takes no time, but those last two - always take sooooo long, or the mining discussions - but it's a fairly commonplace theme in my LS, so I tried sharing the joke.

As for the rest - well, the other poster realised too in the end with a bit of prodding. Old habits die hard it seems. Just posted it on the wrong day. Oh teh emoez. /spoons wrist. Hooyah!
