I dont like being treated like crap eather, yeah it is my job to go to peoples houses and fix their Dells....but I have left serveral houses because the customer was out right assholeish....treating me like crap. I know what my job is...but that does not mean you can sit there and treat me like crap on a stick......

"Customer Service" does NOT mean "inhuman levels of patience with the rudeness and stupidity of customers." Give respect to people who provide you a service! You will get better results! Imagine working in a job where you are belittled day in and day out by people who just don't give a rat's a$$ about how they're treating you. Imagine how much you feel like helping them solve a problem. What goes around comes around.

As for REAL GM complaints, unrelated to rudeness:

There was someone holding a placeholder for the Valkurm Emporer. For 40 minutes. He would hit it once, disengage, and stand around taunting other players. I called a GM, and was basically told that if ANY damage is done AT ALL to the monster, the person holding the mob can't be put in jail or even ASKED to release. Which means that if someone dia's the only placeholder for any NM anywhere, they can hold it indefinitely via provoke. Somehow, this doesn't ring true to me. Especially since this is supposed to be against the rules under "Harrassing other players."

However, I treated the GM well. The closest thing I said to disrespect was "So, am I right in clarifying that there is nothing you can do even if someone holds a mob for 40 minutes?" No need to be rude or disrespectful! GM's have to cater to people who think they have the right to treat them like $#!7 all the time. Why should I be one of the jacka$$es who does that?

Respect breeds respect. We should respect one another for the hard work that we each put into our jobs everyday. Store Clerk, GM, Gas Station Attendant, Housewife, Stock Broker, etc., it doesn't matter. Everyone deserves to be respected for the job they do until they prove to us otherwise.

I'm sorry but, mobs attacking through scenery that a player can't attack them through isn't not knowing about how aggro works.
The mob aggrod through SOLID scenery.
The GM accepted that it shouldn't have happened; my boyfriend had to file a technical problem report so they can fix it.
Are you saying that in Garlaige you shouldn't ever rest on the first floor because there's monsters downstairs that you can see the spell effects of? And they might suddenly come through the floor and kill you?

If you think about it realistically, you can hear someone in the room next to you, you don't need to see them. Sahagins aggro sound. Should they be allowed to run through a wall to go after you? Probably not. But there is no way a GM would give exp back to someone.

If it was an issue of you not being able to attack the mob back, you should have moved away from the wall until the mob came through.

As far as Garliage Citadel, its quite a drop down, so obviously you are out of aggro range of them.

As for the OP goes, a GM handles in game issues, this was an installation issue. You should have contacted the SE helpdesk from the get go, but they should have also been more of an assistance. I'd suggest that if you want to be treated seriously, you talk to someone seriously. If a kid was acting like a fool to me, I probably wouldn't care much to what they had to say either.

lmao, well considering dell support is top of the line for crappy, i can honestly see why someone might vent on you. considering i have called dell to fix my g/f computer. an first you get put on hold for over an hour, only to have dell disconnect you, so you can burn another hour on the phone. then they temporaly fix the problem, an give you a special number to call them directly. so then you do, an guess what. the person you asked for is gone for thr evening.

i dont know, ive had customer service tell me i didnt know what i was talking about, i had customer service tell me there was nothing they could do. its like the one time i took back my craftsman chaulk box because the reel was frooze up. an i have customer service telling me they couldnt exchange it, regardless that craftsmans policy is if its broke they replace it. they went on to say i was using it improerly. that it wasnt intended for construction use,

It's best to realize, right now, that GMs in this game are good for three things:

1) Pulling you out when you get stuck,
2) Helping you recognize stupid things preventing you from doing something you should be able to do but didn't recognize cause it's 5am, you ran out of coffee and cigarettes 2 hours ago, and you're about to pass out after grinding for 10 hours (like not being able to equip something because it's bazaar'd so you don't accidentally drop it while dropping your rock salt, copper ore, earth crystals, and assorted crap), and
3) Telling you "I'm sorry, I cannot assist you with that".

This is not ment to be a slur against GMs. I'm sure (especially after reading the [GM]Dave blog) that they get more then enough crap every day. But honestly, they aren't there to raise you with no xp loss when the it++++ Yag aggros you through the door while you're sitting there not sneaked, not invised, and using /dance, or cause you're upset someone's holding an NM, or cause you forgot to talk to some NPC before you went out to timbuktu for a quest, or cause you dropped or vendored some 6+ million gil item. Learn to solve your own problems, because honestly, they aren't going to do it for you. It's not thier job.

Unless your problem happens to be that you're stuck in the water.

Tele your silly. i actually remember a time, when my g/f asked someone if they had a certain jacket in a bigger size. the lady said hold on an walked to the back came out an said no, another girl in another part of the store asked me, an low an behold, she came out with a jacket the other retail gal said they didnt have.

when it all boils down to is there, when your lazy, everyone else will suffer, when you miserable, everyone else suffers. dont say its not true cause it really is. sadly its your job, you knew what it intails. honestly if you cant handle with the customers. go find an overnight stocking job, that way you dont have to talk to people.

That just sounds like a bad retail worker. I'm not referring to when people are polite. I am not lazy. I do not appreciate the insinuation that I, or anyone else who doesn't like rude customers is. You seem to be attacking anyone on this thread who says they don't enjoy working with rude customers. I'd suggest you stop the half-veiled personal flames. Like the one about the Dell employee just above.

If someone asks for another size, that's fine, and I'm more than happy to go look.

It's when a lady says she's going to defecate in my floor because I won't let her use the store's restroom and she's too lazy to go walk to the one just down the aisle.

Or when a lady cusses me out because she doesn't want to pay full price for a pair of earrings because apparently someone died and made her Queen. The sad thing was, the price she had thought they were was less than a dollar of what she was going to be paying. Not only that, but she had screamed in the ears of several of my customers during her visit. And she was holding up my line with her childish antics.

Or yet another lady cusses me and another of my co-workers out because she thought a necklace should be on sell, we told her that it was not, and she proceeded to go ballistic.

Or what about the guy who threatened to kill my mother. Yes, kill, because she was busy with another customer and ringing them up and he didn't get his attention right that moment? People don't seem to understand that we cannot clone ourselves to help five people simultaneously. Especially if the one we are currently working with is needing quite a bit of help. And if we're the only one in the store, then they're just going to have to exercise that little thing they learned in school: waiting their turn.

When people do things like that to me, you can be assured I'm not going to want to talk to them anymore. They're also going to get their ass out of my store. I'm not paid to be a maidservant to people who apparently think they're royalty. I'm paid to be helpful to people who are polite and treat me as another human. When I am treated with respect, I will give respect. And I will help them as much as I possibly can. But when I am not, I couldn't care less if they fell off the corner and got hit by a vehicle.

Granted, what happened with your g/f wasn't right. But there are bad workers there just as there are everywhere else. (Fast food places in particular rise to mind x_x) I'm talking about the *bad* customers. The rude ones. Then again, the girl your g/f asked could have been new and didn't know exactly where to look for what your g/f wanted and really thought that the store didn't have it. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt in cases like that. You never know when someone's new to a job. Also, store backrooms aren't as organized as customers think. Some of the ones I've worked in are pretty chaotic. It's hard to find things in there without serious digging. So it may not be the employee's fault at all. There's not anyone lazy enough to go all the way to the back to find a jacket, know its there and not bring it out anyway. Why even walk back there if she was going to lie? If she was going to be lazy, she'd have lied to you and said she didn't have any without going to look. Sounds to me more like she couldn't find it but the other girl did.

It is *not* a customer service person's job to kiss people's asses and put up with insubordinate and rude people who want things done *their* way, even if it is against the store policy. People are expected to do some measure of thinking for themselves in a store. We are there to help in finding things, maybe get things off high shelves/racks, or look for things to match outfits, etc. Answer questions about the product. We are not expected to glue ourselves to their arm and walk them around by the hand to each rack and give a grand tour.

I also have one retarded one to add........

We had to evacuate because of Hurricane Rita..... and at one point the city next to mine could go back... but mine could not -.- Well my boss calls me the next day and tells me something that a customer told her...

"I dont care where he is, he should be back, I am"

I got pissed to say the least...... my boss understood why I could not go back yet (could not go back for about another week or so) but this jerk did not even begin to think about how my live was at that moment..... (was hopeing to have a home to go back to) and I used all my strength when I serviced him later that month, not to punch him in the face for saying that.......

Some people think I dont have anything other to do, but drive my car around the city an wait for calls.....
