    GM Tydecat > yes

Matthew > Bring your daughter to work day? XD
GM Tydecat > I am sorry that you are having this issue call tech support have a better night
    Matthew > It's 6am -_-;
[Here I get kicked from chat]

He literally took 10-30minute breaks in-between saying something, and in the end, he didn't even tell me what he was doing, what his SGM told him, just told me to call tech support. What the hell is happening to GMs lately? >_<

Edit: To make things worst, I was in first place in the queue for about an hour.
When I came, it was empty.

    Re: EXTREMELY Unhelpful GMs.

I was SO angry at a GM last night!
I was helping my boyfriend do his Utsusemi quest. We had a lovely black mage along with us who I met on the airship to Kazham and who decided to tag along and help (we wouldn't have done it without him!).
So we get to the silver beastcoin door and my boyfriend and I sit down to get our mp back up to full before moving on. We sit right next to the door so we're as far as possible from the sahagins and bats in the big room.

And then, all of a sudden, my boyfriend's getting attacked by a Brook Sahagin from behind the door. He runs whilst I'm standing up. The sahagin walks through the door and kills him before I have a chance to even react. My boyfriend was there as whm 30, he's a taru... quick death.

So, I raise him and we sit a bit away from the door.
And I tell him to call a GM and get that xp back.

So he calls a GM and they tell him he has to report the fault, but that GM's can't give XP back.

    WTH?
It's not like it was our fault that SE have rubbish programming for floors and doors!

I am NOT impressed with that at all!

hmm i don't understand what you were asking the GM tho... maybe that's why he didn't respond to you?

Oh, it was in my call description.
I bought ToAU for my second account (SAM75), and when I tried activating it, it said the key was invalid at the 'expansion registration' screen. I tried several times, making sure every digit and number was put in correctly, but it just said my key was invalid every time. Went back, made sure I was putting in the ToAU key, same thing.

            Dear lord, Dear Allah(khazam) ...

GMs will not restore lost XP, ever. It's not their fault you don't know how aggro works completely yet.

As for the OP, yes that does stink. But you were slinging as much crap as you were getting. I think that if you were more agreeable you might have resolved the situation. I also think that you're not telling us the entire story, like why exactly you wanted a GM in the first place.

We obviously don't have the whole story though, so I'm going to just base my next comment on the information which you did disclose to us.

You were a jerk. You called him a lot of names, which he probably didn't understand, as there was a pretty damn good chance that the GM you were talking to wasn't even English. My guess is he unfortunately got stuck with Customer Service duty during the off-hours. You might have better luck getting a North American representative during normal hours.

I bet he puts up with a lot of crap like that, and I felt he handled himself quite well. Were I in his position, (and I was, once upon a time) I would've probably been very rude or surly in response to the name calling.

as for your problem, are you sure your second account is the same region as the expansion? i.e. NA POL with NA ToA

                Thanks Yyg!

I'm sorry but, mobs attacking through scenery that a player can't attack them through isn't not knowing about how aggro works.
The mob aggrod through SOLID scenery.
The GM accepted that it shouldn't have happened; my boyfriend had to file a technical problem report so they can fix it.
Are you saying that in Garlaige you shouldn't ever rest on the first floor because there's monsters downstairs that you can see the spell effects of? And they might suddenly come through the floor and kill you?

Yeah, that is the whole story, and the accounts are both North American.
If it's a Japanese account, you can't even change the password on it using the NA POL viewer. (This is an error I got on my first account, JP)

As for being rude- he sounded like a freaking gil seller to me.
                    Seriously.
It's like a new norm for customer support.
There wasn't a single GM like this when FFXI first came out. Japanese GMs were more helpful to Import players.
Now we have ones that don't even use grammar and punctuation- they end up not being helpful at all.
Some even go as far as accusing the wrong players and throwing them in jail for not having done anything, as Jcblue has done several times to different players.

I just think the game's going downhill, can't wait for that new Final Fantasy(?) S-E MMORPG... hopefully it'll at least be like FFXI was for the first few years.

Oh yeah, and Djonma, restoring EXP isn't something GMs have the power to do.
I'm thinking you came from Everquest, or EQoA, or maybe even EQII- those games are a lot fairer in that aspect; GMs actually have some sort of control in their position, and are helpful. FFXI isn't like that.

Regardless whether the aggro should or should not have happened, the salient point is that GMs will not restore lost XP or items. For all they know you got stupid and opened the door without sneak up. Imagine the flood of fake glitch reports anytime anyone died for any reason.

...actually that's something you're supposed to learn at lvl 5. Always be aware of your surroundings and ALL mobs can aggro through doors. See, they can't open the doors themselves, so they just go through them. If SE programed to open the door, they would but they didn't.

As for the OP, you were an ass to the GM. That whole time you did nothing but belittle and insult him. He makes a typo and you laugh at him for it then call him a 'name' that I doubt he understands. You're grammar was just as bad as his as well.

Not once did you explain the problem, not once did you tell him what you tried to do to fix it and through out everything you showed you did nothing constructive to forward the situation in any positive way. If there's a GM message board somewhere believe me that convo is on there with a topic title of 'Dumbass Players'.

I know I'll sound like an ass for saying this, but you're person number 5,423,031 to complain about things in Sea Serpent Grotto aggroing through walls/floor. It is stupid dangerous in there.

And besides, he's a 30WHM, chalk it up as a lesson and move on. I found out that Goblins and bats aggro on /sit. I found it out in Ordelles caves.

It took one bat and one goblin 45 minutes to kill me, but they did, while I was afk. I leveled down from it. Some lessons are tough.

Djonma, Mobs attack through Doors, they cant open them so thye just "open" them :p its not faulty or bad programing, its how they keep people from useing the door to cheat.

The thing about the Sahagin attacking from behind the door was probably due to lag. Other than that SE or the GMs wont restore xp or items anyways.
