Hello everyone, this is my first thread! Anyway, I need to know if this NM has any special requirements to make the sword Nadrs drop. I've killed it 5 times. Someone told me that you have to be poisoned when you kill it (it has a random additional effect poison when it hits you), but I tried that and it still didn't drop. If anyone has gotten the drop before please say where you were standing and if the fish in the same room was dead at the time. Or if anyone knows exactly how to get it, please tell me!

thought: you obtain the sword randomly when you kill it.

/sigh I made this so if someone knew anything, like if I have to have done a quest or have to do something special for it to drop they could tell me, so if you don't have anything informative to say, you don't need to post.

It's like any other mob, you have a random (low) chance of having something drop every time you kill it.

It just has a really terrible drop rate. Killing it six or eight times without getting a drop is pretty common.

The sword drops randomly, theres nothing special about the drop as far as I know, ive killed him quite a number of times and allways got the drop, doesnt seem too bad, i just kill him for kicks and giggles while farming jelly

I knew somebody that camped it...went about 1/30 or something silly like that. I wouldn't worry too much about some sort of secret thing you have to do to get it to drop.

Although... I heard from a friend that works on an MMO unrelated to FFXI that knows some guy that occasionally visits a vet who once petted a dog that was owned by a GM who knows a developer that if you switch to first person view and spin around counter clockwise 3 times, then clockwise 3 times, and run around Cargo Crab Colin exactly 18.65 times in a clockwise manner, then if you're effected by both damage down from acid mist and blind from sand breath from the jammer leeches the moment you kill this NM, then you have a much higher chance at getting the sword to drop.

Anyway. I wouldn't even bother with this sword unless you have a thing for rare/ex weapons will silly names. (Hey narval!) In the time it takes you to actually get this sword you could have leveled up any job that would have used it up to 30 (at which point I'd take centurion's sword over this any day).

Of course, if you still want to camp it, good for you. If you don't find the silly things in life that make you happy, you'll probably go insane before too long...

Yeah, it's a nice sword, but not that much better than Flame Sword, and you'll only use it for a few levels anyway. Not worth the effort, imo. Especially since that's an absurdly boring NM to camp.

I'm really glad I managed to snag this sword a long time ago when nobody really wanted it. It is kind of a wicked looking sword. ^^ As far as the boring part goes, if nobody else is camping him, you can go farm jellys, or even Falcatus if you're familiar with the tunnels. I was actually camping for the Webcutter scythe when I got bored and started trying to spawn CCC as well, got the sword(1/3) long before I got the scythe(1/9). -_-

Nadrs is a great sword for low lvl jobs. I think it has the highest base dmg until 30 for swords.
it took me about 6 times before CCC gave up the sword. his spawn time can be really whacky but just keep trying. no one really camps him anyhow.

Patience... the drop rate is kinda meh on this Scimitar.

Though... it is a *lovely* weapon.. the proc on the Poison is vicious.

Just keep at it, and you will get it in the end.

I've been down there three times camping it for my thf for the hell of it. Every time there have been 1-2 people already there. 0/3. I'd be pretty frustrated if I was really set on getting the thing, but camping a single 15 minute spawn placeholder is a nice excuse to read a book.

hmm, perhaps it just varies across servers. when i camped him, i was hell bent on getting nadrs. i get this sort of personal vendetta going when i dont get a drop from an nm. i spent several nights at gc camping o2w for bat cape too. anyhow, when i camped him for a week, id go afk there and when i return i'd check my logs and nothing ever happens in that area. /shrug! good luck anyhow task, hope you can get one soon.
