Re: My own husband blacklisted me -.-

People get mad, its a skillchain ffs.

Not to sound rude but if people are flipping out about a SC not going off properly, good luck in endgame. He probably was having a bad day or something, and the embarassment of dealing with a "zomg high level" pissed him off. He probably wanted to make sure he looked like a skilled player.

But really... this is the best title for a thread I've read in a while. It beats BG's "Shadow Mantle stolen!" thread.

Playing the game together as two seperated (by distance) married people is an interesting idea. In one respect, it's cool that it gives you something to do together. On the other hand, normal relationship issues are bound to seep into the game, such as in this case.

Try for a second to see it from his perspective. He probably saw it as you taking the side of strangers against him (and what's worse, not even real strangers- simulated computer strangers), and regardless of if it was actually his fault or not, he probably felt you should stick by him because he's your husband.

So I could see how he could be ticked.

            Ick!

Now I have a question for you. Does your hubby enjoy playing online ff11? If he doesn't, maybe he shouldn't be playing anymore, if this is the way he acts online.......but if this is just him having a bad day or something, just talk it out and brush it off.

Another thing, I could be wrong, but telling him "Fuck you" could have instigated a lot of what happened. Just telling him to mellow out could have prevented this, but that's just me.

This game really brings up some very interesting things. I know of somone who divorced because they were caught having online "cyberfun" and this person opted to "Do" this online friend, than his real wife!

Re: My own husband blacklisted me -.-

Well you weren't the first to be blisted by your husband and you won't be the last I'm sure! LOL Shortly after the game started my husband and I were playing together in the same pt. My husband was a noob to MMO's and I was being overly helpful I guess. Anyways I was downstairs and he was upstairs so I couldn't talk to him out loud, I would send /t's. Well he blisted me because he couldn't concentrate on the game and read my /t's at the same time too. LOL Soooooo you are not the first and won't be the last!

And as far as her telling him to f**k off, I would have too! He was being an ass and warping out of the party. How friggin embarassing to act like a 2 yr old and stomp off cause he isn't getting his way! So read closer next time and realize she had a right to say what she said!

Don't worry hon, marriage is tough. My husband and I have hit our share of road bumps along the way and we are still together. And trust me they weren't tiny bumps either. He's retired now and underfoot 24/7 so now I'm actually offering my services to colleagues even MORE! LOL

About the "f you" comment, I think what we don't see in the chat log is her husband disbanding from the party just before the wtfs started flying. So, I'm not defending the remark, but I don't think it's as out of the blue and unprovoked as it looks from just reading the log.

Well, I can see how you wouldn't see it from his perspective, because you're relating to the OP as a married player, but try for a sec. Basically, your wife is there siding against you over something unimportant in-game (and ultimately COMPLETELY unimportant because IT'S JUST A GAME, unlike your marriage, which is REAL). Top onto that the fact that he is seperated from her and hasn't seen her for awhile, adding stress, and I can see where he's coming from. It's not really condonable, but understandable.

He wasn't warping out of the party because he wasn't getting his way, he was warping to show his wife he was pissed.

It does show him using a Warp Cudgel right before that, which is functionally equivalent to disbanding.

Seriously, its a game, why do we get so emotional about it? I was practically screaming at my pc last night b/c gilsellers kept jumping me while I was mining and taking my spots.
When people in large numbers start interacting, it ceases being purely a video game and turns into anything that has to do with people interacting.....drama.

I couldnt agree more, this game is alive, and even though some of us want and keep insisting that it is only a game, its it just a new way of humans interacting!
