Past the Dunes, I don't see a reason/need/want for a PL. In the Dunes I can understand it. There are rarely enough mages, and you have people at Lv.17 still wearing Lv.7 leather. RDMs who don't even both with casting Paralyze, and have STR rings. Very few members in the party actually bring food. So if you just grab a bunch of DD, a PL, you can fly through pretty quick.

But once you get to Qufim, there's usually much more to pick from. So you can build a decent party, and get 2~3 levels done in one sitting. I've always enjoyed Qufim. I've said a number of times I wish we could level there a little longer. (Minus Leeches and Weapons. In Beta we used Leeches to level to Lv.30. Man it was slow with that cursed Atk Down AoE!)

There are people in my LS who have multi jobs to Lv.70~75 who have people PL them at Lv.37. That stuff annoys me. 3 people with like 3k to level I can dig that. Why bother getting a party when 3 Melee and a PL could bang out the EXP so they can party the following day. But a full party PL just doesn't make any sense to me. People should be experienced enough at Lv.20~25 to not need one, or ask one.

I don't see the rush, but I enjoy the grind as well. You get a good party and really bang out some EXP just makes you feel like you did something. But you have to enjoy it as well. I flew through the 50's. As soon as I got out of a party, I'd get another invite. I was kicking out 15k EXP every night, and just blazing through. Only stopping to finish AF pieces. I took my time in the 60's, with a break or two to farm the gil needed to buy my Torques, and a 2 month break to get my Moldavite Earring for my Maat fight. (Which, BTW, I forgot to equip for the fight. /sigh) Now that I'm in the 70's I'm trying to rush to Lv.75 because I want to Merit. This has been the only time I've ever been trying to rush. My LS has a couple of people who go and merit 3 times a week, and it sounds like a ton of fun. I want to do that. I wanna see Chain #30s in Sky. (NIN, WAR, MNK, BRD, BRD, RDM setup)

I don't have a HNM LS, or a Dynamis LS, so I can't really comment on End-Game stuff. I really want to do Dynamis, but nobody goes when I can go. And HNM stuff seems to take up a lot of time for some people in my LS. I have 3 statics currently, and I don't want to have to hold somebody back because of god camps. It's something I want to do, but I just don't have the time for it now. I'm enjoying the game, I love that I can MB for 700+ damage now, testing out new gear set ups, and party setups. But for the first time in the game, I'm rushing. And you can't exacly PL a Lv.70-73 party! lol

I'm only really wanting 60 or so at the moment. The reason? I want to finally be able to stand with the members of my linkshell and help them when they ask for help and the others seem to just completely blank them. It drives me up the *wall* that I can do nothing more than offer my sympathy that they can't get help to camp a key or an nm, or w/e.

I can't stand not being able to do anything, I feel like dead weight. All I'm good for is getting skulls for our newbies Sub quest, and that just... gets old.

But rushing to 75? No way. x_x I want to relish the levels, each small inch up to smn AF and my fun little evoker's horn, which I've wanted since FFT. ^_^' I enjoy watching the small changes as my character grows. I've been playing since November now and am only 43. Most people pull that off in a week or so. I don't. I take time to do other stuff. Help where I can, wander, do quests, etc.

Yes many endgame activites do indeed take a large chunk of time to do. Dynamis is a time sink. But I find it quite ironic that people rush rush rush to endgame only to learn how slow and long some things in endgame take to accomplish! LOL

i recently hit 75 on my second job (sam) and i did it in a few months, i didnt really rush but i did do it pretty fast. but i DEFINITLY dont have gimpy gear, i may be busy with sky most of the time, but i do find time to do BCNM/KSNM to get gil to get better gear. i havent farmed in a LONG time. i think its ok to get to 75 at any pace you like. just need to make sure you at least got "decent" gear.

Yes the second job and beyond seem to go a lot quicker. You've attained knowledge about the dynamics of the game and you've also built up skills. Then top it with having the extra gil/making the gil easier to be able to fund another job, it definately picks up the pace.
