If you dont care then dont make a thread to tell people about the cheat unless your intention is to let people now it so you can screw up the game more.
Your thinking of more people using it and its a good thing and forces SE to fix it is another post that your post make things worse then help.

Yes, but at the same time, I don't go around saying "I tried these drugs, and they are so trippy, look at what they do to you man. But don't do them, even though if you did it would help people"

Hm, I don't see a real reason why the thread should be deleted. If anything, we should just remove/refrain from using the actual names of progs. Whether or not if someone read this thread, if they were intent on finding FFXI hacks.. this thread would've made nothing easier/harder for them to find it (as long as we don't give names that is ^^ but I'm being hypocritical when I say this). Other than that, unless SE revamps a majority of the code and makes FFXI heavily server side instead of clientside or implements a Warden-like program.. these hacks wont be permanently fixed for a long time. sad but true ;/.

I think you are the one who dont UNDERSTAND this. I used the word understand and not know since you know it but you dont understand the whole phase.
Guns can kill good or bad people, if use good it will be good. But by posting such thread to the public is just like leaving a gun in a public place and leave it to whoever that saw it and picked it up on what to do with it. Giving more information of something bad to the public and not having a proper ways + long time teaching always make it go worse then good. And you just did that.

I think a better analogy might be this: Everyone knows a prostitute can help you cheat on your wife, but your OP is like detailing the exquisitely pleasurable things they can do that might make that vice more appealing. That said, I don't think anyone that wasn't already going to cheat is going to see the post and think "oh, I didn't know you could cheat that good. I passed on cheating until now, but gee I think I'll try that out." People with morals that would preclude cheating are still going to avoid it, and people who would've cheated are probably already doing it regardless.

At any rate, I don't think there's any information there that would help would-be hackers find the programs in question, whereas some of the more vigilant people who've read the thread now know what to look for and might recognize a hack to report it where they otherwise would not have. So long as we look at it from the standpoint of not supporting these programs in any way, I think the net effect is good.

You got a good point here. but it seem that you left out those who are hanging in the middle of the fence. And quite a good numbers of people are in this phase.
Some people may have this kind of thinking that, WAO the hack rock and i can find it from goggle as mention by the thread starter or by visiting some pay online forum and since people are using it and even thread starter used it at least once so why cant i try it too to have a feel? and after that he may be addicted to it due to the fact it helps a lot and save a lot of time by warping to the place they want in sec instead of traveling 10mins or more at least by choco or walking.
This type of people will decide to find it or at least try to find it and it may change their mindset again.

to be honest we already know some of the things bots can do. on your last post when you stood behind the door, i already knew you used a hop hack. as did some fo the others. most of the bots you even described are common knowledge. honestly i dont see where it was needed that we needed an indepth look at other types of bots. cause if we can think it, some where theres a guy trying to script it.

just because you say it was clearly in the name of curiousness, an to be informative to the public, doesnt make it right.

SO you mean by telling people that a gun can kill your most hated teacher or friends is good? By telling what a hack can do is as good as telling that a gun can be use to kill someone you dislike or hate.
