Need help finishing mission (please?)

So today I was in San'doria and decided to work on my fame (I got two jobs to lvl 20 in two weeks but still only have rank 1 status in Sandy )

Anyways I was working on the Bat Hunt mission down in Ranperre's tomb and succeeded in getting the Orc scales (I was a lvl 20 WAR) and decided while I was there I could finish a Squires Test so I could get ready to start the PLD flag quest once I hit 30...

But in order to do that I had to get a Revival Tree Root, which you get from the Spook by the tombstone...

So I get down there and there was a ton of high lvl ppl there, all of them constantly fighting over the spook (I had no idea that veteran players could be so greedy )

Long story short, I left due to it being a waste of time and the other ppl playing dirty in order to pull hate from the Spook...

So now I'm wondering if there is any other way to get a Revival Tree Root other than the Spook... or am I stuck having to wait at the Tomb?

Virtually any undead creature can yield a revival tree root when killed. The Spook is an NM that often drops one, but you'll find Revival Tree Roots available in the AH under Materials > Alchemy. Shouldn't be too expensive, and beats going out and praying for a drop.

There a number of ways to get one:

Revival Tree Root

At Lv.20, the easiest means to get one would be to just buy one, or have a higher level friend get one for you. They usually drop off of most Undead, but check the link above for a list of mobs that drop it. I haven't checked for something like this in a while, but I'd be surprised if it was more than 5k honestly. (Then again... with the influx of new people in the game, maybe the prices have gone up a tad.)

I'll probably just buy later on at the AH, since I havn't even hit lvl 30 yet I probably shouldn't worry about it right now (I'm broke anyway )...

Also completing a mission doesn't raise your fame, it raises you rank which is a completely different thing. Quests raise fame.
