Re: In future updates, what would you like to see happen to items?

Well in recent updates SE added a LOT of 'cheap' alternitives to many of the 'needed'

Also, though I may not be at end game yet, in all my time playing I have never seen anyone I grouped with openly mocked or booted from a pt. And I have had some BAD players in pts before, a lvl 40 thf without VB, a Sam/Rng who main handed an Archer's Knife and spammed(via meditate) Piercing Arrow, a War/thf with half her gear missing, the other half not helping her in any way and wielding a Gsword. These are only the ones off the top of y head mind you, but you get the point.

Now people may complain to their LS, and *some* people may say something or boot you from the pt, but the vast majority just does not care. These 'elitest' who 'force' people to have the best gear are the minority and very rarely will they impact anyone. I personally feel everyone should strive to be the best they can, gear and skill wise, but I never insulted someone for bad gear nor would I encourage others to do so. But if you /check me and say to yourself 'wow that person has much better gear then me, I should try harder and get stuff like that too' then good for you. I won't force anyone to have X item or Y gear, but I'll certainly encourage you to try for it.

Now for the OT, things I would like to see:

More axes/gaxes. In both stat and model. Far too few of these weapon types in game IMO

Lvl 1 Gun/Xbow for Thf and Cor, as well as more bolt options for thf. Thf are number two with Xbows but have a horrible selection of ammo.

Some tweaking towards Drks to turn them into the beasts they should be. Less hate gained from JAs and some sort of inherent TP trick to help their crappy TP gain.

More wierd, whacky and wild Mobs and NMs through out the world. Penguins who get stronger the more you fight them, mobs that follow you but don't aggro you, things that come out of no where to try and eat your spine, all awesome ideas from SE and there needs to be more of them. And not just in new areas, but updated in the original zones too. And those one of a kind, crazy NMs are all great additions. A mob that tries to run back to its homepoint to regen itself, an entire army of the same mob that will link with each other no matter how far away they get, hell there's even an HNM that can call to it's aid every Sheep and Ram in the zone to help it tear you apart.

An actual goblin city, with goblin NPCs and everything. I know Movalpolos is their 'city' but a bunch of rickety paths and locked gates does not a city make.

    More unique looking low lvl armor...please ; ;

I believe this thread is about items and only items.

PUP's stats being increased and traits gained by the parts of their puppet, like BLU.

DRG's wyvern and PUP's puppet gaining bonuses from food and armor of their master.

More builds for PUP, mainly one meant for all-out nuking.

Attachments for each spell element, for when equiped, they will cast that element when you use that element. Mostly used for MBing.

Re: In future updates, what would you like to see happen to items?

I actually like the idea of making all HNMs popable via drop items that occur in the same zones. However, I think the drop rates on those items should be low enough so that the current rate of about 1 pop a day per HNM would be maintained. At the very least this would remove botting from HNM claims, which is at least the most common accusation against a linkshell that consistantly gets claim.

E.g. make Faf/nid spawnable by walking into the pit with an "Ensnared baby dragon" in your inventory. The Ensnared baby dragon would drop from the spiders in DA, at a rate of about one a day. That would mean that the people that get to fight the big HNMs would be the ones that put time into farming the pop items rather than the ones with the best bots.

It'll just make people bot the spiders so that they all spawn claimed. And if the item only dropped once a day, that means that gil sellers would have the advantage to holding the claim to that item and thus the NM it pops. Besides, having every NM be forced spawn and every item be rare/ex would be EXTREMELY boring. SE needs to make more unique pop NMs and not just give them a uniform spawn method.

Re: In future updates, what would you like to see happen to items?

I want to see more BCMN options for gear, and not one that loads every ten runs but 100% (rare/ex please) but make the battles hard and chalenging so only the players with skill can get them. From my experiances with camping nms is that its rarely worth the effort for what you get, i hate waiting to have a moster pop finaly getting the claim then not getting the drop, and maybe i can let it go once or twice but when it wont drop after killing it 9 times it can realy frustrate you. lvl capd forced pops that drop rare/ex items sounds like a good idea to me.

Also i want a better way to store items, i have 2 mules and getting items from my mule to main then back can take a anoying long time for how simple it could posibly be, also rare/ex items should be able to be tradable to characters on the same POL account (maybe excluding relic weapons and af armor and anything that involved in the story line of the game)

2 of the spawn items could exist at the same time. Doing this with a low drop rate would do two things. First, if someone is interested in fighting fafnir then can go kill the spiders in DA in their spare time (even get some limit points doing it, and I can solo them on bard, so anyone should be able to solo them). And second, since the spawn item would be rare/ex it would be a major pain for gilsellers to move, and really wouldn't be worth their time dedicating a team to farming it 24/7.

Worst comes to worst, maybe the rare/ex spawn items (with the very low drop rates) could be made to drop from the bark trantulas in both DA and 'da tree.

The other way of doing it would be to make it so that the big HNMS either spawn really randomly (could spawn anywhere from 10 minutes appart to 3 days appart) so LSs couldn't get teams there to bot them, and instead a race would always be on to get people there in time.

Can you tell I hate botters.

Re: In future updates, what would you like to see happen to items?

The 'Ubar random nutty spawn time' idea is MUCH better IMO, and was what SE originally wanted these NMs to be. They want these big, bad, hulking, exp chewin monsters to roam around wild in their homes waiting for people to come get them.

Something I think would be a great idea, as well as a very evil idea, is to have super HNM things spawn in random zones like once a week or so. Like a massive dragon that can randomly pop in the Dunes or the middle of Xacarbard or outside the Ugg temple in Yhoat. I remember the chaos and confusion that happened when Vrtra somehow popped instead of Spook that one time and think it would be awesome if things like that happened more often. XD

Maybe not in random zones, but certainly "anywhere in the zone" makes sense. Though ultimately this gives significant advantages to people with Widescan and flee, or on Chocobos... but then... That is the point of those things, isn't it?

Re: In future updates, what would you like to see happen to items?

The problem with the HNMs spawns is that they support an unhealthy competition in the game. The winners are the ones that cheat, so to win you have to cheat.

What most people want is a healthy competition for the HNMs, where you win by using brains, skill, and a little luck. Popped HNMs isn't a bad route to follow and you don't have to lose the competitive spirit either. There are plenty of ways that you could make groups compete against each another where using hacks isn't always the best route.

Heck, having it so one party leader has to play Rock, Scissors, Paper against another leader for the rare/ex item to pop the HNM would work.

I whole heartedly disagree with this. I don't usually have a problem getting a claim if I really want it, and I'm on my game. Problem I have is actually getting the drop. You don't have to cheat to win.

I would like to see synthesis recipes made more flexible! Like, for instance, to get uber crafted-only NM-drop item #1 you need, for example, two scorpion shells, two ram leathers, and a Venomous Claw.

I'd like to have the option of substituting some other kind of claw, say, a Scorpion Claw, and getting the same item only a bit weaker.

I mean, substitutions happen in real life production all the time. They're never quite as good as the real thing, but they're serviceable, and that's important. This way, your average player who doesn't have 1234089735231 hours to dedicate to farming or NM camping could get an item that would allow him to continue to function at a high level, and Mr. Uber I-Have-No-Life could get the real deal and be a little bit stronger for his effort.

I think we could deal with +7 or +8 evasion instead of +10, but that extra eva will still be noticeable.

Re: In future updates, what would you like to see happen to items?

The random spawn times would be sweet. I personally, having killed LL 16 times with no drop (12 with just th1 and 4 with th2) would like to see a drop increase in not only nms but the BCNM's (have heard stories of people doing the KSNM for the V claw 16 times and not getting the claw).

One thing people do need to get over is the luxury item thing, yeah havin a hauby or scorp harness are uber, but there are acceptable substitutes. But this also requires people to stop complaining about "OMG i cant get a party ; ;" and before anyone asks, i waited for a party for a total of 13 hours....as a bard, so i know it can be a pain. I chated with my friends, crafted a bit, farmed a bit, the people you are going to want to pt with know about the /sea all <job and lvl i am looking for> so you dont nessasarily need to stay in one spot or another. /sigh yes i know that in some cases you want to be close to a particular area for convience sake but, esspecially after like lvl 50 you can be doin other things while you wait for a pt.

I would like to see some more uses for the NPC interms of other items that can be used to call forth the NPC, so that while you are waiting for a pt you can just pull out the npc and chill with them for a bit.

Re: In future updates, what would you like to see happen to items?

That's actually a good idea about the crafting substitutions...to an extent. The lower quality item would have to have MUCH lower stats to make it fair. Those rare crafted armors are expensive for a reason, SE wants these things to be difficult to obtain as they are that good of an item.

But as said earlier, SE is adding alternitives to many of these things. For example, thfs can now substitue a Scorp harness for a Jahwhatever Peti for exp pts or a Crow Jupon for soloing. Both armors give decent stats for the situations mentioned, but the scorp harness is still 'superior' because it has the ability to fit in for both situations.

In the last update SE gave us MANY cheap alternitives to the 'required' armor in game, while keeping the 'required' armor at the top of the food chain. It gets harder and harder to add new gear in this game without outdating current pieces of great gear, which is why SE has given us so many unique items recently.

If anything, they should add some more useful low lvl gear. Most jobs can go 1-52 without any decent armor on their feet, and even then some jobs can go even further. =/

I think it's fine just the way it is. Sought after items are pursued, and not-so sought after items aren't. Just like real life.

The only problem is the bad blood all of the HNMs cause. If SE abolished all forms of cheating (Pophacks etc...) then everything would be fine.

I'm not calling the spawned hnm part unhealthy, I'm calling the environment it encourages unhealthy. If they could change it so it supports a healty, competitive environment then there would be a lot more happy people.
