    Re: new party options

Basically the burn parties I have been in (and I have done mainly warrior parties), involve 3 or 4 war/nin, 1 or 2 bards (depending on how lucky you are) and 1 rdm/whm.

/nin ensures they don't need too much healing, though keeping them as high as possible is good. With a bard you are getting 6mp a tick refresh, so you can haste the warriors no problem, most of the time is it just throwing out curagas to cure them all - bards can help back that up.

Bards will pull mobs to camp, sleep them, wars destroy while the bard goes looking for more. Making a constant chain. Deco weapons in the Shrine was the best for this pre ToAU, now the camp next to the Mamool Ja Staging Post in Bhalfau(sp*) Thickets is king. The only thing that will slow you down there is a particularly rough Mammol Ja or Jurek (wyvern type). I hit chain #120 before we got a nasty knockback from a puk which killed our bard as he ended up in a pile of mobs...

Probably best to be honest.. If he can ride his way to 72 on refresh alone, I'm sure people will be stupid enough to invite him the last 3 levels.

Personally, with a ninja, I would co-ordinate which debuffs you are going to use. If a nin is happy using para (which as an ichi, has the longest cast time), let them for hate. Just check whether it lands or not, and back up if needed. Same for slow and blind.

Gravity is king - evasion down on a mob makes for faster killing generally, especially if you have meat eating melee (which is a sadly lost art atm it seems).

Just never, ever forget what your A+ class is in (hint - they give you +15 on your AF body).

To be fair, he said that parties could care less about buffing, not himself. Thats the case I run into even now in the late 50's.

"Durp! We are be need refresh!"

This is very true. Most rdm invites come because of one level 41 spell rather than anything else - though most people remember dispel during crab hell aka the 50s...

Only problem is if I think I can't hit it, then you cast Gravity on it, and then I can hit it... Oh well, the attack difference between Meat Mithkabob and Sole Sushi at this level isn't great. When I start eating subs or whatever's on the next teir, then I'd worry about it more. Last time I checked Meat Mithkabobs cap at 327 attack (if you eat them ~base attack 290), and I'm not there yet. I guess I could get a higher percentage out of other foods, but, meh, my damage output isn't really suffering. Though I feel the need to eat somthing new. I also need to re-re-un-borrow my kote back.

I'm a mage - I eat cookies... I dunno much about tiers of meat, but I do know Mithkabobs cap out somewhere round 60ish...

Vaguely back onto topic... Burn parties - its more popular to eat meat, as the mobs are generally at most going to be VT, so no real accuracy issues (hopefully...)

                          Re: new party options

                          To the OP:

In my opinion, everyone should level off of VT's from 1-75. Then people wouldn't
need teh uber gear that takes 10 months to farm, etc. In my experiences with
regular parties (non-burn) chaining VT's, we could make more experience per hour
than when fighting IT's. When taking Paladin to 75, my static tried to target VT's.

I think when fighting VT's, you can be more flexible with your party set up.

The problem we ran into was overcrowded camps. If you can't constantly chain,
I don't think you can match the experience gain of fighting IT's. Also, respawn
                          time factors in.

                            Re: new party options

i'm inclined to agree, in my experience VT allow a lot more flexiblity, provided that you can find the mobs. again this means you might need an unconventional camp. a lot of people for a pickup party at least aren't willing to take an unusual party to an unusual camp. it's also the case that to do these things best you might need a different gear setup than normal, or a different sub. asking someone in a pick up to do this might not go down to well...

to me some of the changes in the last couple of months allow some of that flexiblity to be used even on IT mobs. If you can get part of a party you should be able to make up the rest through sanction bonuses and jack of all trades (blu). You can also for instance over compensate in refresh to make up for a dedicated healer lacking, and therefore turn a backup healer to a main healer.

Problem i see happening is people, just push the 'perfect' setup harder, refusing to party as a pld without a refresher still and then throw in auto refresh and sanction refresh aswell. Instead of getting extra options we end up with extra requirements. I hope it doesn't happen, but from what i've seen with the player mentality in this game, i'm apprehensive.

I agree. People still think too much in the "I'm xyz level, I must follow this path to xp zones" without being flexible about it. I'd far rather xp fast on VT mobs, than struggle against IT. But then, I get lazy lol...

Indeed - the only reason people get such crazy chains at Lv.75 is because they are exping on VTs.
