  • anon fishers in Labrynth of Onzonzo

I can't figure this out. I've spent a good bit of time in the Labrynth of Onzonzo lately camping mysticmaker and there's ALWAYS at least 1 anon fisherman right next to the campsite, and usually 2. A search of the area today brought up 6 anon people and I bet at least a few of those are fishermen. They are all the same, too. All lvl 1 gear, all title: Mog's Master, and they all have Lu Shang's rod.

Easy answer is they are bots, but why would they fish there? The only thing I ever see them fish up is usually rusty leggings, and once in a blue moon a coral fragment. But that's it. Is that really the most optimal place for a botter with a Lu Shang's rod? And even if it was just for annoymosities sake (being in the Labrynth which doesn't have much traffic), why would you park yourself right next to an NM camp, where people are going to be spending hours on end?

    Sincerely,
    Puzzled in Onzonzo

What do you mean by all dressed in level 1 gear? Like, the Fisherman's set? And nothing else? Well, thats explained by the room for other equipment... wait a min. Mog's Master? How the hell do they not die? How in the world can you level a character to 69 with "Mog's Master" as your title? I mean, comeone, yes it's a NM but theyre are so many times when that room is empty cept for mobs and... ok I'm making my brain hurt e_E

      Most likely bots.
I tried fish there twice. With overwhelming fishing item moghancement. I needed about 3 hours to fish up around 2 stacks of coral fragments. And then fatigue.

Back when coral fragments were still 300-400k a stack, it was very good money.
Now coral fragments are only 60k/stack... not worth it anymore

Either way, it's a VERY boring thing to catch... I was ready to go insane on my 2 attempts already. Trust me I'll never ever go back to catch it ever again unless this thing can sell for 2-3 millions a stack.

I accidently MPKd some of these with maelstrom... they were definately low low low level, they died instantly and it only did 30~ damage to me....

Yes, that explains it then. Fishing bots. But still, how do they not die normally?n without getting aggro? certainly /anon dosn't work on mobs...

the spots they fish on are out of range

near mystic maker theres plenty of these spots, me and a friend sat next to the lake thingie and nuked stuff to death on that little tight spot trying to pop the NM, ocasionally a lvl1 mithra would pop there and /anon herself

            Double Post Edited:
the easy solution would be... monsters being fished there ^^

but square likes to cover their eyes with the bills the bots (or simply gilsellers who sit there all freakin day) pay them

Yea... there was an obvious bot in lower jeuno on my server name Orcle. He makes sole sushi 20 hours a day. And every time he synths, he says "/" , or " ' ".
My chat screen would be spammed with
              Orcle : /

So I reported him to GM... GM was very nice, thank me for pointing him out and that he would investigate and monitor this character.

              One week has past now... and Orcle is still in lower jeuno doing the same thing. I was kinda disappointed -__-;

Coral Fragments used to be around the 60k/stack figure on Lakshmi as well. And there were usually more than 10 stacks of it up. But that was before the last major update. I checked the prices on it today, and it was up to 200k per stack, and all sold out.

It looks like the fishing fatigue adjustment has made Reraise Hairpins more expensive.

they're still lowly cheap on Titan.
Majority of fragments come from chocobo digger tho as I understand.

                      Fishing gear and onion weapon.

I still can't see how they'd make much money getting coral fragments. Just from hanging around mysticmaker, they only seemed to pull up one every half hour at most.

What does lu shang's rod do anyway? Increase chances of getting stuff? It just seems like there would be a better place to bot.

coral fragments will break other small fish rods like halcyon. I don't know about big fish rods tho, like composite or mithran maybe will be able to pull this thing up too.

coral fragments can snap lu shang's line btw.

it won't break the whole rod. only line snapping.
