Could such a thing be more perfect?

I LOVE the avatars in the final fantasy series! (Bahamut being my absolute favorite)

So when I found out that you can be a summoner in FFXI, I knew I had to have it. And I can honestly say, this game perfectly delivers the FF avatars in all their glory! Ifrit looks great (very similar to his FFX look) and Fenrir... well, is beyond cool!

I just wish SE had added, or will add, more avatars in upcoming expansions, adding more summoner goodness to the game!

If I could choose another avatar to add (excluding Bahamut because he's already in the game... and is sadly not a playable avatar) would be either Yojimbo (from FFX) or Anima (also from FFX)...

I know that the balance of power would be tipped if more avatars are added to the SUM job, but I think that if SE balanced out the stats of each avatar, adding a few more would probably not cause too much trouble...

So my question is this:

Do you guys think SE could/should add another (if not more) avatars to FFXI? And if they could, which ones would you add?

I think 9 avatars is enough. It was enough of a killing to have to worry about getting 8 before, and now with Diabolos the teir has been increased again. I'm fine with the avatars we have now, I don't want to spend half of my FF life just getting avatars >.>

I didn't know that Diablos was a playable avatar, I thought he was a just an enemy you fought to complete a quest...

Ah man! If Diablos really is a playable avatar... WOOT!

This is great! Another awesome looking avatar to add to my arsenal of Killing Machines! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

... But I do see your point on how it would take to long to get each avatar, but in my opinion it would be worth the effort. XD

Honestly, I think there should be one Final Avatar in FFXI.

I think it shouldn't contribute much to an actual battle, just have Curaga, and Raise II/III, and Reraisega II Blood Pacts.

I know SE wants to make WHM are more interesting and better job at healing. But the truth is, WHM is boring much of the time. It's also very stressful. The vast majority of people don't like playing WHM. So, IMO, SE should just help SMN become a better healer, as well as WHM.

(I know you DD SMNs are like, OMFG, SCREW YOU!!! XD)

Urg... no, 9 avatars is enough. If anything, there is only Pheonix to add anyway. 6 celestial, 5 terestrial...

I believe the Dev Team said they planned to add new avatars in the future. This was at the Fan Festival, I think.

And for the record, we'll never live to see the day Bahamut becomes an avatar. However, Odin is a great possibility.

Wait so the 9 playable avatars currently are:

*Titan
*Leviathan
*Ramuh
*Garuda
*Carbuncle
*Fenrir
*Diablos

Aw man! If they did add Yojimbo and/or Anima (or Valefore), that would be so SWEET! They could make Yojimbo have a much larger katana and Diagoro (his pet dog) could be the size of Fenrir!

And could you imagine if they did add Anima, think of how huge he would be (I mean remember how big he was in FFX!?)

But I guess we'll have to wait and see what SE brings us in the future!

I doubt they will add Yojimbo or Anima if/when they add new avatars, because Yojimbo wouldn't fit the same way Odin wouldn't fit (no, we are not getting odin. He is almost, if not bigger than Bahamut) and we May get anima, but animas is already in the game, just not as an avatar. We may see Madeen as a light summon and some other avatar, mabye Midgardsormr, as a dark one(no light or dark avatars yet, so those are a possibility). I also wouldn't mind seeing some totema from FFTA(yes, I know the game sucked, but you can't deny that Famfrit isn't cool)

I think there's enough avatars...not like you can use more than one blood pact every minute (give or take some time w/ gear). They should work more on other jobs that haven't gotten anything in a long time. I don't think Warrior, Monk, Black Mage, Red Mage, Dark Knight, Ranger, or Ninja have gained even one thing since at least the North American PC release.

Maybe they'll add one more to make it an even ten in the next expansion, who knows? And for the record, it's Diabolos, not Diablos

Having Phoenix would really help for being able to raise above R1. Just having any avatar with R2 (leave R3 for WHMs so it's not a shaft to WHMs) would make things a lot better. There's no need for any more, it just ends up watering down all of the current avatars. Also, in regards to the bigger avatars, no thanks. Avatars like Anima would never be implemented due to a huge performance hit whenever they are summoned.

Where is Anima in the game, is he an enemy?

What if they made Valefor the light summon, that would make sense (he was the light summon in FFX)...

What avatar would be the dark avatar? If not Anima then I have no idea who it could be...
