yeah this pt was right up there with my other i died twice in one fight. lol i was fighting at outpost so i set my hp there whm died becasue of nobody vokeing then it came after me when i went main healer, i died whm came back, i came back, whm died, i died then i got raised, then whm did and i disbaned... i lost 500 exp in taht 1 fight and that was the first fight i had in that pt. To top it off all we were fighting was a damselfly....

Thats why I hate the doonez. The parties are so inconsistant. I've had parties that can rip through Crabs at 14-15, other parties can't get that crap together until 17-19. I think I need to stop playing as melee for a while and really look at the whole party.

I think you can go to the tunnel next to the mines in Bastok. There are worms that you can fight there.

The general idea of "at levels X-Y we take mobs A and B" absolutely does not work in the Dunes. Certain jobs will make a huge difference versus each mob. Flies, for example? Party A: DRG, PLD, RNG, SAM, WHM, BLM vs. Party B: MNK, MNK, NIN, NIN, RDM, SMN.

Party A is going to do a metric ton better. Piercing weapons, a tank who isn't any more screwed by AOE than the other party members, the RNG is likely (or should be) out of AOE range with the mages, more skillchain and MB possiblities. Party B has 2 blunt DD and 2 slashing DD/tanks, the tanks both get their shadows stripped by AOE, the healing is ever-so-slightly gimped, and there aren't as many skillchains available.

All that aside, though, if nobody's provoking, it doesn't matter what level you are. Y'all need to take a little time and skill up communication and planning, and make sure everybody knows who's doing what before anybody makes a move. Which is where all that grammar and spelling come in handy. Who are you going to listen to and take more seriously?

If you have a Paladin who isn't provoking, there are very, very serious issues. If it's just that the timer wasn't up and the WHM happened to get hate, that's one thing. But if he seriously wasn't provoking at all (and the MNK and/or DRK backing him up), then yes, doomed to failure from the start.
