ok... 3 out of those 10 I was the first to cast stun on this thing. Only to be stopped by the game's annoying claim delay system and got the "Cannot attack." message... The NM remains yellow for a bit but I can't cast anymore stun because "You have to wait longer to cast this spell."

This sucks. I gave up now. Such a hassle camping this thing.

I could make it up to myself by stealing gil from you, but I'd probably fail anyway.

I'm not a fan of the new claim system. It's caused more drama than the old system! I think they really dropped the ball on this.

Hunt during 6AM EST. Nobody's there, at least on Ragnarok they're not. And most people are in Whitegate now anyways. Here's how I always claim.

Then I wait, scrolling over names. When MMP pops, I wait until his body is visible on my screen. Then I cast and have no problems claiming. I outclaimed an entire alliance on more than one ocassion. A buddy of mine (Chronus, on Ragnarok) is 0/58. I felt bad for him, so a MNK friend of mine logged on his character, and we got it for him. >_<

Jei, here's a tip:

Go on a weekday night.

Trust me. For the 3 pops that I had, I had one other group of two people competing only on the third pop.

What they need to do is make all NM's constantly pop, like every 10 minutes. Then divide the drop rate by the factor that the spawn rate was increased by.

It would at least let us make claims more often, while theoretically balancing out the drop rate.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I'll be camping Morlborger for the next few days. Though my recent NM experience makes me feel that with my cable connection and sweet computer I'm faster than almost anyone. I'm just not always closer, or facing the correct direction.

Maybe you should camp somthing less contended for a while to get more comfortable at it.

and this thing's drop rate can be very bad already. My friend went 0/15+ on the drop. : /

I can camp something else yes... but they don't drop this ear ring I want...

I understand that you want the earing, I was thinking camping somthing else to give yourself a break and to practice timing. Somthing that spawns faster maybe.
