This item provides the exact same moghancement as my 150,000 guild point item, Fishing Hole Map:

Am I annoyed that a level 0 fisherman can buy an item off the AH and get the same moghancement that cost me over a million gil in fish plus hundreds of hours spent catching them? You'd better believe it.

The difference between TH and craft enhancement items though is TH is a job trait specific to THF, whereas anyone given time can get any craft enhancing item. It would be more like adding an item that let anyone call a wyvern to fight with them or charm beasts.

Complaining that they added a crafting+ item thats easier to get then the super-crafting items doesn't really make sense though. You spent forever to get that 150k guild item, fine you can now also get another item easily to further increase your skill letting you still brag you spent all that time getting your guild point item.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

HTTP Error 418 - I'm A Teapot - The resulting entity body MAY be short and stout.

not to mention the Big One is prettier than the fishing hole map ._.

but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

Having The Big One and a Fishing Hole Map doesn't enhance your fishing skill any more than having only one or the other. If your mog house is set up for overwhelming water energy for Moghancement: Fishing with The Big One, then a Fishing Hole Map is useless. The only thing the Map does over the other is give you more flexibility when choosing support furniture. The two items are redundant.

With regards to the OP, it's impossible to prove anything one way or the other. Lock thread?

I don't think it's fair to call for a thread being locked like it's a satellite strike. :|

I had always heard the Millionaire's Desk gives an increased amount of Conquest points, but I never bothered to check it out myself. I keep a four leaf mandragora bud in my inventory, not because I think it has TH, but because I believe in luck.

The millionaire's desk can be proven to give more CP by simple virtue that it gives the moghancement, though; It's provable, whereas the TH is not.

Also, that happens to be exactly what I'm doing to this tower! I mean thread.

Going way off topic, but how does being able to get one item easier then another lower the personal accomplishment of the hard one? I will admit that I did not know that the effects did not stack though.

The reason the desk giving TH is not the same as crafting+ items is because anyone could always get crafting+ items, TH is a job trait.

fishing skill have very little effects or benefits compare to other guild skill however. At least there's no HQ tier for fishing.

                        Re: Millionaire's Desk - Treasure Hunter +1?

I remember there was a test somewhere (here maybe?) about TH, TH2, rabbit tail, 4 leaf bud and lucky egg. The test was to kill 100 cockatrice and measure the drops.

The conclusion of the test was:
                        TH significantly increases drop rate
TH2 increase drop rate better than TH but not significant compare to TH (this is further backed by a test on Silk threads).
Rabbit tail and 4 leaf buds have nothing to do with drop rate.
Lucky Egg increases drop rate by a small amount but less than TH.

There was another test on TH3 and TH4 (using silk threads), it seem that the effect of TH4 almost double up the effect on TH1. One out of 3 crawlers will drop silk for TH4. I can't remember the exact details though.

This I can conclude that certain items may and may not increase drop rate and what the dev hinting at was there are items that increase your drop rate but they don't want to tell you straight out; they want it as a rumor.

Hmm. Well it doesn't surprise me too much that Lucky Egg actually has an effect considering it says "lucky" right there on it. It does surprise me a little that TH2's effects aren't significantly more potent than TH1's. 100 samples though, that seems like a minimum amount of data to start drawing conclusions from rather than a comfortable amount.

From what I have *heard* the desk only works if you have over one million gil, and I have also
heard that TH1 doesn't effect rare drops only TH2+ does.

Again, Not saying this is true.

my understanding.. (nothing to back this up) is that TH2 improves rare drops. TH1 improves standard drops.

If I sub thf and have millionaires desk I get TH1+1, so i get better chance of rare drops.

Have had millionaires desk for about a year and my rare drops are ok.
