Millionaire's Desk - Treasure Hunter +1?

I am just curious because i never heard of this before. A few of my friends who happen to be on Fenrir say that they get Treasure Hunter +1 from getting Millionaire's Desk. Now the thing is, is this true? And how the hell do you know? Any THF can verify this for me and not only conjecture?

On a more serious note, something like this is impossible to prove, let alone kill as a rumor. It's about as lucky as your favorite ballcap. Of course, mine actually is lucky, but that's off-topic.

Well, there's only one good way you can test it.

Pick a mob with multiple drops, and kill it and tally all drops. 1000 times with, 1000 times without.

The higher the test samples, the more accurate they are.

Do your testing with consistent VD days and moon phases as well, to avoid that possible influence on the data.

I have yet to see some good tests for TH vs. TH2 let alone the Millionaire's Desk.

Someone waaaay back when did some small tests with the Millionaire's Desk and found the results to be rather inconclusive. So if there is a boost to TH, it's so minimal that it's probably not worth it - unless you just want to brag about it ^^.

Belive what you want, I think it helps. As a WHM/THF, in a period of 24 hours, I got:

A Carbuncle Ruby for a WHM friend in 7 minutes.
A Ghoul Skull for a random noob who knew one of my friends in 13 minutes.
A stack of Silk in 22 minutes.
A stack of Tree Cuttings in 45 minutes.
12 spider webs in 1 hour 30 minutes.

Think what you want, but that desk has helped me a LOT while farming.

As WHM/THF before I bought that desk, it would've taken me forever just to get the 12 webs, or stack of cuttings. >_<

I went 1/9 on Valkurm Emperor. The first 8 times I killed him I was subbing thf for Treasure Hunter. The last time, when I got the drop, I was subbing blm. Based on this, I believe Treasure Hunter has a negative impact on rare drops. (Not really.) I think a lot of these rumors that various items have a bonus to TH are based on similar data. Small sample, one time coincidence, post hoc reasoning. I have a couple friends that use 5-6 spaces of their inventory carrying around lucky charms that they believe give small bonuses to their drop rate. I don't buy it, but as someone already said, it would be very hard to prove or disprove.

Well so far i guess theres no REAL answer to this...but its pretty much as i thought it would be, hard to prove or disprove, like most things in life. At the very least maybe this is something people can ask the Devs about in the next Fan Festival.

I still believe its a bunch of crock and bull in general since otherwise i would hear ALOT about it working. But so far its as much as having Lucky Egg..which i am pretty sure its just a rumor(and i dont know how that started..)
