I just got married yesterday in Windy Waters

Yes, having one or two helpers will relieve the chaperone a lot, my friend Guildenstern was my chaperone, and while he was still getting briefed with Arcadio and me by the wedding officer, a couple of friends wandered up to where the aisle would be (an hour before the wedding, mind you) and he got scolded by the officer

So having a few people catch them and have them stay at the "gather together" place would help a lot. Someone who knew beforehand all the wedding procedure, etiquette, etc.

Also, when you are told your hour, please consider having everyone arrive 30 mins earlier than that, because it is more or less that which takes for the Chaperone to distribute the goodies, explain last details, and sit them.

It is also a good idea to keep a list of people who confirmed they would come and /poke them 1 hour or 30 mins earlier, so they can make it if they really want to

I don't quite understand why SE makes it so difficult to get an ingame wedding that doesn't actually provide anything but sentimental benefit to the players. I mean, I get that it uses up GM time, so I understand that, but otherwise? I don't see why they go out of their way to make it so hard.

Anyway, good luck. I hope you get your wedding, and if you don't, you can throw yourself a pretty nifty one with your good friends that will be just as great!

I think the main reason is how short they are on staff just for running those events as often as they do, and it's a relatively frivilous thing. Heck, the wedding option was available in the Japanese PlayOnline Viewer for many months before it showed up in the English one. I think they were having trouble just staffing Japanese weddings then.

It's not really them going out of their way, it's just them trying to give everyone a fair chance while not reserving a bunch of GMs just for that sole event.

is there something you give to your bride-to-be?...like a engagement ring...or something, before getting married?
i mean..hum....a ring or something to say "this is my futur-husband" ?

Wardog: There is no engagement ring in the game. If you want to give your bride a special engagement gift, you can craft and sign something, something like that is always special.

Our problem was winning the lottery. Our friend applied every week for 9 months before finally giving up. Any advice on how to beat it? Other then keep trying?

All I can say is keep trying. We got very lucky, only one month of applying, and we were married exactly 2 months after he proposed. I'll ask our chaperone if she did anything special other than applying as often as possible.

Okay, I talked to our chaperone. All she did was apply as often as she could.

I hate the lotto system, some people have to wait for so long
