    2 Questions: What's Arcana?/Forum rules question

    Couldn't find answers to these questions. x.x

    What is Arcana exactly? I see "resistance against arcana," and other games "Arcane Strike." All I know is that Jug's in ffxi are arcana.

    Arcana are non-living things that move. Like pots, dolls, statue, (and weapons?)

      Cardians
      Clusters
      Detectors
      Dolls
      Evil Weapons
      Golems
      Magic Pots
      Mimics
      Snolls

      About your torrents question, it depends on the content of the torrent. If you've got a huge fan video you want to distribute as a torrent rather than a normal download, cool. If you want to link some fansubs or something, no. Basically whatever it is can't violate the site rules for other stuff.

        An Arcana is a monster that is spawned from (Weapons, Elementals), or powered by (Dolls, Pots), Magic and will seek out (magic argo) and congregate around (weapons around the crystal line) any apparent source of it.

          What is like, Arcane Magic? A (Black) Mage on WoW learns the spell "Arcana Blast" after Fire Blast. Just an example, but how can I define this?
          And non-living things that are moving.. powered by magic.. that I can understand. Sounds a bit like demon or even more undead, but I get the idea. Thanks. ^^

          Well, torrents to movie downloads, programs and such (Illegal perhaps). I wondered if posting a torrent to 3D Studio Max is wrong. I think I know the answer, unsure though.

            If it were cracked, definately a no-no. If it's like the personal learning edition, go for it.

            Nothing obscene, nothing protected by copyright with some exceptions made for FFXI fan work, nothing that violates the ToS or international law, etc ... If you wouldn't link the file normally, don't link a torrent.

            Btw, I'm just making this policy up. AKosygin or PiNG might have other ideas, but it seems reasonable, no?

            : mysterious knowledge, language, or information accessible only by the initiate -- usually used in plural

            Very broad definition. Probably used so much in RPGs because it's an uncommon, cool sounding word.

              If I remember right, I think someone once said that the Arcana Blast magic in WoW was a nonelemental magic. So you couldn't really have a resistance to it, or rather mobs didn't have a natural resistance to it.

                A torrent to a fan made movie of FFXI or something similar is fine. Torrents to any copyrighted material is not (mainstream movies, computer programs i.e. 3D Studio Max, etc.). If you are in doubt, don't post it.

                  Well, technically torrents aren't illegal. Uploading torrents involve distributing bits and pieces of one file to many people, as the same is involved with downloading a certain file. However, companies will crack down on that sooner or later and make it into law.

                    Arcana are mainly things that would not be living or have formed without magic, i.e. Bombs, weapons, golems. It is mainly life created by magic, like if youv ever heard the stry of the golem

                      Well.. thanks for the answers, I think i'm getting the idea of Arcana.

                      About the torrents, I didn't know if I could link to just the file either, I just called it torrent cause it is a torrent. Umm.. you know. But I'll just forget about it, just thought it might be nice.

                        I thought 3ds MAX LE was free? Or am I mistaken :O?
