    That's because the game is designed around the PS2. Chances of falling through on the PS2 is about 2%. It's more likely on the PC especially if the Graphic card is a great deal better then the CPU it's working with, or is the CPU is bogged down by multiple threads it's having to cycle through.

    On my PC many times the models going across the bridge have a sort of swaying effect. When they move they slightly sink into the boards and when they stop pop back up out of the boards. I play on PS2 mostly though so it's kind of freaky to see that occur when I do play it on the PC.

      My old roomate's pc used to do really weird things when he played. He'd lose textures sometimes and he'd be this silhouette of a taru running through fields of gray. Other times he'd miss the zone line like was mentioned above and run into a big black wall. His computer had problems.

        Heh.. I fell into the water about a week ago trying to buy Jerky from the Hostelry to turn in for GP. Opened the door and tried running in... bam! In the water. I had warp at the time, so I warped out.

        In the dunes lvling NIN, a friend of mine on PS2 ran underwater at Valkurm Dunes. I couldn't do it on PC, so I Mijin Gakure'd and she tractored me underwater and we ran around having fun. XD

          GM told me the same thing J, just bad lag often when you go over the seams of the floor.

          I've fallen into the water more times than I can count. This has been happening to me ever since NA beta. I think I've met every GM in the game.

          My favorite fall through was right at the fishing guild, I didn't fall into the water, I fell onto the boat that's right under the dock. Half my body was sticking out threw the top of the dock. I was just a horrible torso. People were freaking out, lol.

          Oh yeah, and falling down into the water during Dynamis-Windurst, that was fun too.

            Re: Anyone falling under the zone often?

            I've had a lot of falling/glitch incidents as well. My character is an elvaan female btw for reference.

            The first major one I ever remember was getting stuck in one of the bridges during Dynamis-Windurst. I was following my shell and next thing I knew, I was half way through the bridge. I was unable to move in any direction, but our time was about to run out anyways so it wasn't that major. Many months later on another run I did fall through completely and of course ran around the water. I tried to give cures and stuff but everyone was considered out of range. I found it interesting that the water down there is still programed to play splashy sounds when you move around considering you should never be there in the first place.

            I've falled repeatedly in Movalopolis. I fear that zone like the plague and avoid it as much as possible. When I do go there I have to walk since if I run, my character will bob up and down through the floor and eventually fall through completely. It's funny to watch until I fall and have to call a GM over it and get warped a million miles away from the rest of my party >_<; The worst had to be when I fell through the BCNM floor for the Moblin CoP Mission. My party died (I was on smn distraction and healing duty) and then the enemies tried to come after me. Of course with me being in the black void below, they couldn't run down and get me. They just all stood on one side of the BCNM circle trying to reach me. All they could do was cast like poison on me (surprised they didn't nuke me) that I could easily remove. GM eventually came and put me topside. The process of moving me removed my hate (yay) so I was able to raise people up and we exited and retried (with me changing to ps2). Funny, but very embarassing situation.

            I've fallen into small ramps/platforms like the portals in sky and the ramps in the Promyvion ENMs occasionally, but I've been able to get out of those without issues requiring GM calls. It's always startling though to walk up to a platform and then fall into it instead of standing atop it.

            I've only run past a zoneline once and that was in Promyvion-Vhazl on the top floor. Scared me to death since we had aggro at the time we were running from. I was running alongside everyone and then they all disappear and I keep running >_< Everyone in my party was like "Where did you go? You were right next to us." We were all worried I had missed some cut scene or something and I couldn't zone because of it. Thankfully backtracking and touching the zoneline from the back zoned me in properly.

            I know you can fall through sea's floor too, but I've only seen this happen to someone else once. Needless to say, I'm very hesitant in sea ever since...

            But yeah, I have learned to fear all wooden bridges and walkways in FFXI. I don't fully understand why we can walk on transparent floors in sky yet fall so easily through a wooden one. Maybe the carpenter's guild needs to work on their skills before building full structures ^_^;

              Re: Anyone falling under the zone often?

              This happens to my LS leader all the time. But yeah, like Kafeen, the only place I ever got stuck for a bit was the ramp to the Boneworker's Guild. Just dropped through and had to wiggle to get out.
