  • Anyone falling under the zone often?

My laptop is pretty laggy when it comes to FFXI.

The spot I fall through the ground all the time is right in front of cooking guild. Often when I get image supports and run back outside, I will get lag spikes right in front of the door and the next thing I see is im under the guild.. down in the water. This happenned at least 5 times to me. I avoid any synth I need cooking support like a plague -.-

Just right now, I got a PT calling me to Kazham. I left the air ship docks, running to the moogle and fell through the wooden floor >.> I'm now stuck waiting for GM help.

Well considering that it seems like movement relies on the systems GPUs and with you stating your laptop is laggy. Sounds like more of an issue all yours and the laptop you're using.

yea, once a GM /tell me that this issue can be caused by laggy graphics
openning up task manager and kill almost every process helps.

I used to have a problem like that. I don't remember what my brother did, but he found a thing called a registry cleaner. After he ran that, my Computer ran twice as fast.

That's one reason why I'm glad I decided to get FFXI on my 360...
          Great graphics...
I can run it in 720p...
          Plasma...Yummeh...
          42"...zhomehgawdzzz...

If it ever lags...and it hardly ever does...
Things just seem to slow down...
This happens sometimes around the AH...But it's not that bad, really.

Actually, that's a pretty common place for people to fall through. You aren't the first one that this has happened to. Falling below the airship dock in Kazham and the cooking guild happen all the time to people. Falling through the floor in Oldton Movapolos is another common one.

Re: Anyone falling under the zone often?

Well, according to someone I know, you can actually go under the floorboards near the nomad moogle in Kazham on purpose. To this day, I still do not know how do you do that. Apparently, with a combination of you being a tarutaru, your graphics/laptop lagging out and possible "holes" in the map, you seem to be experiencing this a lot.

Registry Mechanic is what I have, that should help you out a bit.

I had only one time where I fell below the ground somewhere, never happened again after that.

Registry Mechanic and Reg. Cleaner are kind of the same thing. Basically just a program that checks to see what Registry entries are still valid. If they are not it removes them, junk in the registry or conflicts do cause speed issues for your system so that is one of multiple things you can do to help it's speed.

There is like 4-5 different things you can do to boost system performance. Half are related to improving the memory usage (Basically a program that fixes what M$ should of fixed since Win 95 was made and yet still hasn't). The other half cleaning the registry files, again something that M$ should of added to their OS since Win 95 and yet still doesn't.

That along with a few special tweaks you can do in the registry file and you can improve performance to what you want. My system is setup to do network as priority, I'll have to find that registry tag again but that is one of the things you can probably do that'll help prevent falling through areas on the game.
